This is why you're still a virgin.

One of the most infuriating facts about life is that others can just attribute value according to their free will

so when I see you post that pic, it feels like I just ran into (you) as the husband of the girl I deflowered at prom many years ago
it feels nice and I smile and nod, knowing what that feels like we both felt it

Don't buy pokemon cards. Its a dead economy. Paid shills just like shilling it, because they don't want people making money in the markets.

There is a global outfit dedicated to keeping the citizen poor by shilling dead end money making schemes.

A fun fact is that true Pokemon fans are disturbed by the growth and many of them are trying to fud their own hobby in order to cool it off so they can get a better entry price for themselves. Expect people to bash Pokemon constantly due to jealous bitter fomo AND trying to pour cold water on the hobby by pointing out clingers like Logan Paul and Nicki Minaj. it's all reverse psycology

Why isn't there a pokemon etf?
>>
>>62217491
False, because NOBODY will buy your cardboard garbage at spot/market price even if it's graded. You will be lowballed 50% of its value or less, the space is incredibly saturated and there is no liquidity to compensate for these absurd prices. In short, you're a retard for actually buying them. I have a binder worth $1300 on collectr and nobody will touch it, or they offer something like $200 for it.

How do I get cheap cards? Can someone please explain the grift?
>>
>>62218988
if it was like you say and theres no liquidity, then how does the hobby keep growing year over year?
the market price is notional because every deal-maker understands that the alternate source (Ebay) charges 14% fee. So the rational starting point for your $1300 set is somewhere between $1000-$1100 maybe more if you provide extra effort (pictures of condition).
If you possess something truly rare then you'd have all the high ground to press for 100% of market value or 150% or whatever.
im curious about this binder of yours and the type of cards you think will net $1300.

cards right now aren't exactly cheap but the opportunity lies in cards that suddenly get recognized when they were previously getting slept on. so I guess there's some degree of speculation involved if you want to be successful. (pic related is something very recent which I speculated on when it was in the $50-60 zone)
getting cards at retail price isn't a reliable method anymore these days
>>
>>62219089
ye most cards have pumped but cheap IR's in latest sets are best bet

Read about the comic book crash of the 1990s. It pretty much wiped out the industry. A speculative bubble had formed around comic books for decades, and eventually that bubble popped, wiping out thousands of private comic book fortunes. The same will happen with Pokemon cards, obviously. Cultural artifacts don't age well, with the exception of certain old fine art.

I would say there's already been plenty of attempts to dethrone Pokemon. There's more entertainment options on the market than ever before. Yet people have collectively chosen to elevate the Pokemon brand. You're watching people front-run prices because they're confident about the market's strength.
It's no different than how our shitty stock market is a visualization of absurd P/E ratios.
