How do I get a job where you do nothing all day? Like a water treatment plant operator for example.

Youre thinking in the correct space but think energy, I won't give away my secret sauce.

I'm disabled with severe genetic disabilities and blood cancer and was denied by the state because they thought I could still work, so I rot until I muster up the courage to become a hero.
That's my job description I guess.

Become the president of the USA where you can fall asleep in front of people on camera and they don't fire you for being an old dumb sleepy fuck.

Water treatment plant operators work harder than almost anyone in industry

Get into trades, start your own trades contracting company for heavy industry

The janitorial contactor at the water treatment plant literally makes 10 times more per hour than the operators
I got janitors with a HAZwoper making $225 per hour at treatment plants

If it helps operators monitor the control board, switch pumps and chemicals, operate the sludge press, drive loaders to dump sludge, move dumpsters, receive and monitor chemical shipments, run labs on influential and effluent, adjust chem pumps based on flow and assay, rebuild industrial filters, and generally just work their asses off for 10 hours a day when they're not in class keeping up their certs..

They make good money but it's one of the hardest jobs out there

also of course operators generally have to pass regular drug tests, have 4 years of college and a couple years of water education, certifications in confined spaces, hazardous waste, lab work, rigging, ladder work, commercial driver's license, loader certs, ppe training, respirator certs, often an MSHA part 48, operator certs, forklift and manlift certs, and enough safety and first aid training to keep you in class half the year.

it's not really an easy job to get into, though most places will pay for your education and certs if you sign a 4 year contract or longer.

The demand the job is overinflated, I went to school and got certified when told there was no demand in any other industry. This was in 2010. I helped tutor boomers twice my age to see the job I was working hard for gifted away to a single mother that was shit at the class. She gave up and quit, then they didn't want to hire locally because of the headache. Very demoralizing. Im washing dishes for a living right now, but thats out of desperation since my last job(construction) didn't pay out what they promised and I'm still owed almost 50k. I just can't keep moving around the country over and over every year n deal with this crap.
>>
>>62224942
Yep the job is 90% white veteran boomer men but I guarantee they'll hire any woman or minority that applies

Try industrial maintenance. Pay is pretty median but there're weeks with no work at all. If nothing breakes I am in there just to "monitor" the furnaces. If something breakes I go fix it. But over the years I've managed to learn by heart all of the problems that can possibly happen so most of the repairs don't take that much time. Just keep in mind that other people wont like You too much since they see You sit and slurp coffee all the time behind computer in Your air-conditioned office while they toil in subhuman conditions. And over time, You start to hate other too, since they always keep bothering You about some nonsense bullshit.

I work for a ferry company, selling tickets for trucks and cars in the port.
When I don't have a customer, I do nothing. There is no "other tasks" i have to do, other than sitting and waiting for the next customer.
The flow of traffic fluctuate extremely, we are manned for a smooth flow in peak hours, but you can't have an employee working 1 hours in the morning, then come back to work 3 hours in the afternoon. So what end up happening is we sit 5-7 people and do nothing for most of the day - because we are manned for peak hours.

Most of my day i sit and research stocks, play chess, chat with co-workers. We literally have breaks ad-libitum outside of the peak hours.

Any job wearing those suits is UBER fucking comfy. Like, 2 hours of work in a 12 hour day and 250k a year with bennies and unlimited unemployment during layoff type of comfy.
>>
>>62222876
I ship out company packages all day. It takes about ~20 hours to do but I spend the rest on /biz/, /adv/ and reddit and writing smut. Very comfy but I think the isolation is finally getting to me despite being the king of the introvert mentality. Had to happen eventually I guess, but it's weird where you can actually start to feel your mind unravel and soon your making up office romances and so on like a ai hallucinating for a months.

Also the pay kinda sucks. So I don't have a car so most days I walk 30 minutes down the road without sidewalks, dodging cars, through the trailer park and then to the train in the park and ride area. So have fun with that too I guess. Although it just becomes normal after awhile.

But hey, if the stock market smiles on my gold miners, uranium and VOOG stocks, I will be set to retire by 35 lol
