Is farming the worst business of all time?

To create enough income to do it full time you need at least 6+ million dollars of land. Its so expensive you could literally make more money living off treasury yields for zero work.

You are also competing against the likes of bill gates and (((investors))) with infinite made up capital who for (((whatever reason))) are trying to buy up all the land in north america.

I see you've never heard of buy, borrow, die

protip, farmers don't need to make a profit. They just need to make enough to cover the expenses and secure loans. And when you own millions of dollars worth of land and equipment it's pretty easy to get loans.

Farming is the best system for family dynasties, so long as you have land and your farms you will always ensure your family has a good living

not really because if you have multiple children you constantly have to divide the land to the point it becomes unfeasible. some siblings need to move off the farm to support their families, they demand their portion of the inheritance, and the whole thing collapses. family farms are literally dying.

farming is dealing with the real world, as real as it can get, of course it's a bad business
thankless, smelly, pays poorly

Row cropping by itself isn't that profitable. It's been designed to squeeze farmers. Add fairy and beef cattle (which will cut fertilizer costs), usually more profitable. Agritourism, flowers, and niche produce are more profitable and require less land.
The wealthiest farmers I know of in my area have multiple streams of income (pork & dairy, or construction & seasonal produce, or beef & electrical work). They have around 120 acres. Very busy during the summer months and not so much during the winter.
There are a lot of informative videos on YouTube by farmers, ranchers, and agritourism.

There are farm estate planners who deal specifically with this type of inheritance.

My daddy's daddy's daddy's daddy's daddy started working this farm. Ain't no how I'm giving this up.
