For at least the past 20 years, which is the time I coherently remember, I have never seen a boomer speak enthusiastically about anything financial other than total economic collapse and gold. Why are they like this? Did 2001 mindbreak them?
>>62233919We're aware that the dollar has lost 99% of its value since we went off the gold and silver standard, and we're aware that new generations can't afford to live anymore.in fact we've seen times when a dishwasher at a diner made enough money to buy a house, and we know they can't even rent a tiny room now.we know that you used to be able to get a job, it would pay a living wage with some left over, and you could work that same job for the same company for your entire life and expect to retire from it. Now if you can get a job you sure as hell can't count on it lasting, let alone paying for your retirement. We've watched the US economy get gutted and fucked in real time, and we know it's not going to stop.
>why do the people that built the house of cards know it will fall apart with the gentlest breeze?
>>62233919to add to this>>62233936most boomers started off working with a newspaper route. That was considered a kid's job. but in modern purchasing power, that part-time paper route paid the equivalent of about $60k in today money.that was children. Making the equivalent of $60k on a part-time job for kids. modern generations can't even imagine what we've lost. It would blow your mind. Used to be one man could support a wife and several kids comfortably off one job. This was the reality and expectation boomers grew up with. Of course we're pissed and pessimistic. If we had known this was going to happen we wouldn't have had kids.
>>62233936>We're awareno
>>62233960boomers are still working and still paying for houses.we know exactly what has happened.
