For at least the past 20 years, which is the time I coherently remember, I have never seen a boomer speak enthusiastically about anything financial other than total economic collapse and gold.Why are they like this? Did 2001 mindbreak them?

That was considered a kid's job. but in modern purchasing power, that part-time paper route paid the equivalent of about $60k in today money.that was children. Making the equivalent of $60k on a part-time job for kids. modern generations can't even imagine what we've lost. It would blow your mind. Used to be one man could support a wife and several kids comfortably off one job. This was the reality and expectation boomers grew up with. Of course we're pissed and pessimistic. If we had known this was going to happen we wouldn't have had kids.
