>>62246385When I first saw Zardoz I was young and thought it was just another attack on transhumanism by the religious right because they didn't want people to seek immortality outside of their eternal life guarantees, post mortem. Now I see it as a warning about what the elites are trying to achieve today. They want to force 99% of the population out of their private zone and into the wilds where they would die off while they hide behind they're impenetrable walls of technology. Altered Carbon had a similar description of the future and there is a story line about the Methuselah Tech in the Battle Angel Alita manga that was leaked to the general public by a rebel. While I am not against the transhumanist concept and attempts to seek some level of physical immortality I am very much against the notion of an elite class keeping that technology for themselves while all the rabble scratches in the dirt below their ivory towers.

>>62246516Regenerative medicine research has demonstrated that any cell in the body can be rejuvenated, but the treatment must be targeted and customized based on the subject's individual profile. The actual components are not difficult to synthesize; it can all be delivered via mRNA, which is very cheap to mass produce. So the analysis is the cost of entry. And the best candidate for this is artificial intelligence scanning your genetic code and biomarkers. It is, in theory, possible for the masses to access cheap cellular regeneration.
