collecting guns for re-sale is more profitable than crypto and Pokémon cars combined. They actually have a use case.

>>62251042>They actually have a use case./biz/ continues to demonstrate zero knowledge of what constitutes monetary value. You think gold became valuable because of its use cases? It's not even close to the rarest metal either. Yet the whole world wants it.
>>62251110>you think gold became valuable because of its use cases?Unironically yes
>>62251110>You think gold became valuable because of its use cases? This has to be bait. Gold is used in a fuck ton of things. Your smartphone for example, you massive retard.
>>62251090the four horsemen.
>>62251318>>62251334he's saying the value of gold isn't commensurate with its use. And he's right. Something like 90% of gold is used for investments and jewelry/decoration. Only a tiny fraction is used for electronics and industry. If it was much cheaper it would undoubtedly be used more, but since investors drive the price way up, almost the entire value comes from speculation and finance.
>>62251042Guns hold their value extremely well, meaning it's hard to get someone to sell for even half price. So at best I might get a 2x on gun sales, probably less. After taxes that's down to 50% profit. At 50% profit I'm running 1/4 of gross receipts, so if I need say $5k per month after taxes to live I'd have to sell about $20k worth of guns every month. I'd guess this is 30 or 40 guns per month assuming each one sells above $500. I'd need to sell a gun a day without taking a single day off. Probably safer to guess 2 guns a day and I take weekends off. Also I'd have to have an extraordinary number of people willing to sell me guns at half price because I'd need to buy 2 guns a day as well.so yeah, I'd need thousands of people willing to sell me their guns at half price or less, and then at least 2 customers per day wanting to buy used guns at full retail price. Which is a pretty big ask. I could do it as a side hustle, but there's lots of things that make bigger margins and are easier to find and sell. Pokemon and cars are two examples, even though you probably don't know it.
>>62251042Yes and no, they track inflation sometimes but have gotten cheaper to produce and nany are in circulation and can be passed down many generations. You've got to buy the right guns at the right price.

>>62251764>Jewelry and decoration is unironically a use case of goldit's also an investment. if it was purely decorative, brass or gold plate would both be equally valuable.
