Local news finally started talking about crashing bond market but im curious, hasn't the bond market been dumping since forever? I checked and it was indeed the case. Why is the news so late? What happened to journalism?
>>
Why are they so slow? Somehow tradingview provides me with instant news of whats going on but my tv doesn't? Where has journalism gone???
>>
I have an economics degree from a good state university and still have no idea what bonds are.
>>
It became big news when bond yields surpassed the % which lead to the bursting of prior bubbles, last in 2007

Ah this makes sense to me. But its not there yet, 2007 was higher

Its funny, because when people talk about 401ks on biz and being bagholders, they always talk about the sp500 part, but ignore the fact that a target fund is buying all the dogshit bonds in the world from every shithole country at the same time, and even worse, telling the world when youre going to rebalance.

>What happened to journalism?
Nothing happened to journalism, it's the same as it always was.
What changed is your ability to fact check the shit they write.

Depends what you mean by crashing. It “crashed” from 20+ percent to literal negative rates from around the 80’s until recently. But this stimulates the economy in that loans are cheap. It fucks non asset holders. Now it’s going up. Japan’s bond rates are going up. And Japan is the heart of a global racket where everyone borrows in yen because they had low or basically 0% interest rates. So every time their interest rate goes up, people who rely on cheap money might end up bankrupt. The USA can’t go back to 20% because it’s 30 trillion+ in debt. So it’s like a bomb going off slowly. We need higher interest rates to fight inflation. Higher interest rates would cause a default. There’s no way out. Other than WW3. People talk about it now probably because of the speed it’s happening. Japans rates are shooting straight up. And it has everyone terrified.

How can I purchase bonds? Is there a stock ticker for it?
