We’re in a massive bubble. No way AI is going to make any of these revenue predictions coming out
>inb4 this isn’t like the dot com bubble cuz these companies are making money
Companies during the dot com bubble were printing cash and were then ran up to unsustainable levels because people basically just went crazy with forward P/Es as they dramatically overestimated revenue growth around companies dealing with and adjacent to the internet. Same shit is going to happen now.

Im doing it anons, set up with fidelity, putting in $2000.

$1000 for fuck around find out learning, success or fail.

$1000 for setting up investments that arent retarded and I regularly add disposable savings that would stagnate.

Any tips or direction on where I should get started educating myself for the latter? I think the fuck around $1000 should totally be on me, bud id appreciate some guidance for the other.

People talk about things like mutuals, etfs, VOO, S&P500, index/roth. I do know about 401k. I am pretty ignorant and id like to learn more on proper safer long term investments, shit going to my retirement, or helping me prior to get on and maintain getting on the property ladder.

If it's for retirement look up a Roth IRA. It's taxed before contribution so you aren't taxed on gains.

As for the ETF to go into. I personally have used VUG because it's growth focused and tech heavy, but VOO or any broad index that follows the S&P 500 with a low expense ratio will be reasonable for long term.

Getting in GLW if this shit would just drop to my limit order.
They have a 6 billion dollar contract with meta and received a $500 million investment from nvda, that mixed with their explosion and share price gives them a huge amount of liquidity that they're dumping into scaling their production.
Trying to get in before they land the inevitable deals with MSFT GOOG and AMZN because they're the only company that can actually fill orders at the demand they will have.
Worth a look.

There's a formula you can use to determine how much leverage an option gives you to owning the underlying stock:

Leverage = Delta (Stock price/Option premium)

A further otm option will give you more leverage. If you're confident that SNDK will continue its parabolic rise, selling your itm calls for otm calls will give you more leverage and hence more gains. The deeper itm an option is, the more it acts like owning the underlying stock instead of an option.

Here's a secret strategy they don't want you to know about:
Put most of your port in SPY or some index fund
Use your margin available to open synthetic longs on stocks like MU and DRAM.

The price of those synthetic longs is just the time value of money, which is like 3-4%. So you can virtually open a position in DRAM for 100K and it would only cost 3K right now for a contract expiring in a year.

There is no safe point of entry. There are only safe amounts of money. Buy in bit by bit, on the upswing. When your realizable gains get up around 20%, then you hang, say, a 15% trailing stop loss on it and buy more. Everybody will make fun of you and tell you you're missing out on max gains, but you will remain safe. I mean hell, all that needs to happen is next week someone announces 'hey! we have a new AI engine that only requires half as much memory!' and the whole thing crumbles.
>>
>>62277830
If you really don't have at least a few hours a week to try to learn how to trade then you definitely shouldn't be trading actively. Could be buying ETFs and probably stick to voo. If you can at least dedicate a few hours a week to watching Christopher's Channel and learning his method( his method is the same as literal Market Wizards people who manage massive hedge funds) you'll eventually get the idea and frankly it doesn't take that much time to actually do the trading especially using his method where you are swing Trading and just closing and opening positions at the end of the day. The main key to Trading is having a set of rules and having the discipline to follow the rules that you set.
>>
>>62277836
What type of trading should I start with though? I'm way more inclined to buy and hold long term and eventually sell then look at charts. Everyone here, they got in early on the AI bullrun and now are reaping the rewards, is that even considered trading or is it just long term holding?

It's short to medium term investing on a knife's edge. Every AI and memory stock holder will have to cash out completely at some point, because these are commodities. They *will* go back to their original value and stay there for the next 20 years... eventually. Pic extremely related.

>>
If you ever buy a stock that does like a 10x or more
As soon as you can sell 10% and get all the money you originally spent on it back. Keep the remaining 90%. Unless you put a pittance into it .Then ride it as long as you want. If you hit a level that's life changing money for you, sell half. Then set a stop loss that's under huge resistance. That depends on the stock, and it depends, but around 30% down is a good price. Once the stock reaches more than 50% of your networth, and it's substantial, you have to start selling off so you can diversify and not have like 90% of your networth in one company.

Always. Always. Keep the last 10% unless you can retire off it. Never sell it. It might become a mega cap one day. If you can retire off it, even then, gradually sell it off at a trickle so you can diversify further so it's no greater than 10% of your networth. Whatever you have left after it's diversified under 10% of your networth, keep it until you're dead.

Even if there's no technological advancements for the next 20+ years, there's still going to be companies out there going to 10x every year.

AI isn't the end of the road. Ad AI will unlock other technologies and industries that aren't yet discovered

When the first cellphones were made. I don't think people that made the first ones predicted personal computer phones with touch screens and a trillion dollar app store pet industry.
>>
>>62277919
Nobody knows. However... earlier this year I was pointing out on this board that, IF Micron's earnings stayed stable, the stock would have to get to $750-$850 a share to get a PEG of 1. And here we are. Since then, their earnings have accelerated so that their PEG has sunk from .4 to around .22. Which means in order to achieve a PEG of 1, the thing has to go damn near to $2000 a share.

Don't get greedy. Don't get scared. Remember that we got heemed in February on no news of anything and no earnings for no reason. This market is irrational and skittish as hell.

The logic chip industry narrowly avoided commoditisation, purely because Intel choked out most other chip makers.

Damn near everything mooned over the past month. The odds of finding a 10x were much higher. Buying memory during a memory shortage was a pretty obvious call. Same for semis. Cooling and construction haven't been as unstoppable. You might be up like 40% one day and then red for the next week.

Of course there will always be 10x stocks out there waiting to be found but even now, very few people here seem to be catching far fewer of them. There have also been some nasty mid-day or immediate post-market surprises like LUNR and ZS. There has hardly been anything as comparable to semis broadly and memory.

The sticky already has good info. An emergency fund should precede any investment. Retirement investment is money that cannot easily be withdrawn in an emergency (not without penalty at least).
General rule would be to max out tax-advantaged retirement accounts, and only then invest in a non-tax-advantaged brokerage account. But, the retirement accounts generally have fewer investment options (but still plenty).

You can check their prices right now on Aliexpress through brands like Netac and Kingspec. Don't know who keeps spreading the misinfo, but China was never interested in killing the profitability of DRAM.

>>62278110
I had ample opportunity to shove in $4000, but I didn't. I watched it go up all day from $814 and barely got anything done. I guess I'm still feeling the post-earnings losses that came just before the Turboquant 'rumor' (essentially).

AQB looking pretty tasty right about now. If it recovers to ATH we could have an epic multi-bagger on our hands

This a fucked mentality, you can’t have it if you’re a swing trader or day trader. Your exits need to be deliberate and your decisions final and egosyntonic. Regret leads to buying the knife next time or hopping into the top just before it falls off a cliff because you have fomo. Have an exit plan, stick to it. If it goes up more after you sold then so what, it wasn’t meant to be and you’ll get it on the next trade.
