Pretty much. This whole market is very fake and nothing is being done to actually support the underlying economic structure required to keep the market doing what it's doing. It's all "secret stimulus" to build data centers that are out of date before they even open and that once you get anything approaching quantum computing are going to require massive overhauls. The whole thing is an actual scam and you are in fact living in The End Times.

The longer the leg in either direction typically indicates a stronger rejection of price in that direction.

foolproof way to earn money by doing literally nothing:
>step 1: look for tech stocks releasing earnings that day
>step 2: ask AI the % that stock is likely to go up or down
>step 3: calculate the current price of that stock against that %
>step 4: buy the closest option to your goal price two hours before closing (i.e., if your stock is $160, and it's likely to go +/-15%, buy a $180 call or $135 put)
>step 5: call only if already going up, put only if already going down
>step 6: wait
>step 7: sell 15 minutes before market close
>step 8: profit
works every time

yeah its pretty dystopian now but we have been heading down this path for decades.

>glorify crime

>scour the most dangerous ghettos for tattood gunshot victims and give them million dollar contracts making music about selling pills
>no heroes. literally every single person you have ever seen or idolized got to the top by being born into it old money or fraud/crime

its only natural for this to accelerate to the point where every man under 30 is trying to 100x on prediction markets and shitcoins and every girl over 30 is trying to sell pussy

I have a question about taxes

say you have 10 positions, and you're cashing out on them
and it's enough money that's taxable

what f one of your postions is down consderably but you want to keep holding it, can you sell it for realised losses, then immediately buy it again and have those realised losses come off your tax bill for the other positions you're up on?

You clearly don't realize how much people are starting to hate AI. Why would they rotate their money back into an unsafe sector?
>>
>>62347385
It matters quite a lot because think of every single passive fund dollar tracking the sp500. That's not going into spacex.
Most of these funds are passive too not active. So they haven't reblanced a thing. The argument is hot money in retail is evacuating the current thing (semis, ai chokepoints more broadly) for the new thing.

Sometimes stage 4 cancer gets "cured." It's not the norm. MSFT and META are structurally broken companies, with META being a better bet overall than MSFT because the Zuckerberg still has vision and most of the assaults to the company are coming from the outside. MSFT is an inside job with a sleepy CEO turning the company into Little Mumbai while every single part of the company burns to the ground. Between the two, I'd pick neither, but if I had to pick one, it'd be META though I don't have much hope for that one either.
>>

I can't be any more blunt than "the sp500 will not fast track spacex". So passive funds like VOO will not be buying it and no passive fund has bought a single share of spacex yet or liquidated a single dollar to get ready for it.
If you don't understand this statement of fact I don't know what else to tell you.

ORCL will do fine and get sold off anyway. They're executing pretty well, but the market is going to punish them for their association with software. MSFT is the biggest problem in IGV right now because the CEO is repugnant. Every time he would talk on earnings calls (it's all recorded or AI generated that's how little he gives a shit), the price would plummet. Every time the CFO spoke, the price would spike. Until ORCL can somehow detach from that association, it is going to get punished regardless of how well they do. And they are doing well. Ellison knows what he is doing and he isn't a subhuman street monkey.

Top it off Im getting into epistemology and the people here are unknowingly perfect examples of truth seekers. Most people are delusional, they never have to pay the consequences of their stupid thoughts. Stock market however makes you pay hard, forcing you to face the brutal reality of the immutable laws of global capitalism. Take your medicine and read some Steven Pinker.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The classic robber baron of past generations, with the cigar and top hat, was infinitely preferable to having a gaggle of diagnosably autistic comsci weirdos running the world. Bezos et al came out with genuinely incredible services that earned every single penny of revenue, but the whole thing has slowly gayified into a morass of overfunded oddballs who took Nick Land seriously. Which would be fine if they were profitable, but they aren't. Anthropic will probably be profitable someday because Claude is too useful to go away, micron really is selling SSds like none other, of course some are doing well. But a lot of these companies are pure navel gazing with no real path to a good balance sheet. Elons projects are a good example where he's been overpromising on literally retarded shit for decades but never gets punished by the market for failing to deliver.

He's not an Einstein, he's not an Oppenheimer, he's not a Feynman or Fermi. He's really more like a P.T. You could almost understand why he thinks the world is simulation because his success is absolutely nonsensical and in almost any other universe, he'd be overseeing reverse splits of everyone of his companies and lawsuits out the ass. Listen to a few of his earnings calls. It's like he doesn't even understand what's going on at his companies 95% of the time.

I'm overall still bullish on both gold and silver long term, however there's a perfect storm of circumstances at play right now all at the same time that are causing this selloff; the rising price of oil and the US dollar, selloff due to other equities recently providing way better returns (see the semi/memory boom the past few months for example), and possible additional rate hikes beyond the one priced in currently as inflation keeps spiraling out of hand. At this point I'm not buying more miners, but I'm not selling any either. I do expect the selloff to continue into the summer however, so I'm bearish short term.

Anyone else looking at this feeling excited? I’ve kept some cash in reserve waiting for the paper market to sell off. It was always going to happen for reasons I won’t explain (done it for a year and it doesn’t sink in) and shake a lot out. But for reasons necessary the paper market has to die for the actual bull to begin.

I’m focusing on miners not. I won’t be adding more to anything bar those and cash reserves.
