I think it's about not understanding markets all that well anymore. The old playbook of buying companies with good fundamentals and holding them forever isn't nearly as illustrious when any retard can buy S&P500 ETF and get about the same yields. To maximize your returns nowadays to an impressive degree requires to be much more more nimble and to listen to more ethereal things such as market sentiment and bandwagoning to catch the rotations of money. The rise and receent returns on something like MU likely looks rather suspicious to an old timer using to buying the dips rather than alluring.

>>62392645
Depends, there's a potential of different models being implemented that'll require less memory and make some stocks plummet even more, but I don't think that how low will it go will matter all that much as the orders are filled for the foreseeable future with demand probably increasing somewhat, so you just buy and hold for whatever top is the top and dump your position entirely once the cycle will come to an end. Maybe you can start trimming once the writing is on the wall, but that could mean a lot of things.

I am glad to announce that... You are no longer safe.
>>
>>62392797
You can't have all the information, nor can you predict the future. I get that you can't fully control your emotions, so if you feel a sense of loss, then you feel a sense of a loss, but you can at least rationalize it to decrease its impact. Yeah, sure, you could've made much more if you did proceed differently, but you could've also lost it all if did proceed differently. That's why you build a conviction and outcome scenarios ahead of time, so you can just go back after the fact and either conclude that you missed something and take it as a learning lesson or just something happened that you couldn't foresee, easing any negative emotions you may be experiencing, unless you're just thoughtlessly buying and selling stuff with the hope of making it big, in which case there isn't much to do to help you and you may be destined to a fate of endless grief while pushing buttons randomly without the understanding of why.

the one thing at least i do consistently is at least take my cost basis out when im that green

>>
>>62392820
It's gambling either way. The point is for your number to be as big as possible in the end and there are multiple ways of achieving that. The biggest factor here is the price point of entry, where it doesn't matter what you're buying if the price is just want too high, which is just another perspective on the same concept that could also be called timing.

Looks like a fine mindset then. You came in with a thesis and it wasn't exactly correct, which should then give you some feedback on improvement in the future. If you're aiming too close to perfection, then you're likely to be always disappointed as that's just not a very realistic goal and probably even needlessly high.

And yes, as far as I can tell there's always an opportunity. Some bigger, some smaller. Just keep on grinding and you should be fine.

>>
>>62392970
They absolutely can't. The casualties would be immense, and Americans aren't ready for that, especially in a war of aggression. If you aren't willing to shed blood then you can only win on paper.
>>
>>62392974
If it was preceded by the IRGC and its proxy forces in the cities getting the shit blown out of them the military might sit it out or even join the civilians.

>>62392894
I don't disagree man. I think Bibi wants to expand the conflict and try to drag the US deeper in. Iran wants more leverage in their negotiations with the US. Trump is getting sick of Bibi's shit and wants an easy way out of the turd burrito he created. So Iran is going to hang Israel and Hezbollah's provocations on Trump to try to wedge the US and Israel, and get a better negotiated position. To do that, Iran needs to keep teasing the negotiations along. It's snakes all the way down.
>>
>>62392986

No one gave a shit about the Kuwaitis either until Saddam wanted to trade oil in gold and fully break up the OPEC agreements which at the time would've been nearly 60% of the world's oil coming from the middle east and 40% of that amount would've been Iraq+Kuwaiti oil fields. If he just shut up and stated he would work towards a defense pack with Saudi Arabia/America to protect the middle east from Iran they would've let him do it.
>>
>>62392996
The difference is that Iran has 2 armies. The IRGC is the big jihadi one and then there is the artesh and it's not clear which side they would take in a civil war. If the US isn't going to put boots on the ground then the best option is to arm the civilians and hope the artesh sides against the IRGC.

The Artesh is still fully staffed by iranian muslims. they arent going to kill their religious leaders because the US and Israel asked them too.

Most people in iran don't have weapons and the IRGC has shown it is perfectly fine with firing into crowds of unarmed people. The fact people have been suppressed implies nothing beyond the fact they have been suppressed. There has been a strange increase in "gas leaks" though.

>we're in a bubble
Forward p/e when compared to earnings growth is at record lows

What this means, stock prices are not keeping up with earnings, and stocks are priced like a deep bear market discount. These companies are making more money than ever, and even though stock prices are up significantly, they're not up enough to keep up with earnings.

Buying stocks now are priced like if you bought at covid lows lol

the market is so afraid of a bubble that it's pricing everything at a discount
even there's another dip you can get this shit at an even steeper discount.
>>
>>62393040
If that was true the IRGC wouldn't feel the need to bring in their proxies to set up checkpoints. Unless the propaganda is so good it even convinced them.

Found an degenerate way to play the nothing ever happens trade. You've probably read my TLT idea which is my high conviction trade. I've got a trade idea that I don't have the balls for but some of you might. Otm LEAPS on JNK. Same thesis as TLT but with non investment grade debt. This requires nothing to ever happen and things to actually get better. Honestly might take a look at the option chain Monday. I hate when I come up with good ideas and miss out on the gains. I called the STRC depegging in May but I never bought puts so I was right but made zero dollars.

Is there a downside to distributing your investments between multiple functionally identical ETFs between a single one?
My bank offers a broker thing but it charges fees on a saving rate of more than 500 € per month, and I'm weighing the inconvenience of using a separate brokerage without fees vs splitting my investment between multiple ETFs with minor differences.

I dont think it would be terribly inconvenient to use a fee-less broker if you set up auto-invest or something like that.
Any fee you pay adds up, even if its less than your gains.

There are fees for maintaining the bank account and using the issued credit card, but I can't be arsed to switch all my bank connections (work, insurances, etc.) over to a different online-only bank. I'm begrudgingly okay with paying a bit in exchange for having a physical bank building staffed by humans in town.

Their brokerage service used to charge 1.25% on your monthly savings rate (lol, lmao) if you used a savings plan so it was a non-starter for me, but just last week they changed their terms and savings plans are now free under a savings rate of 500 €.
I already made an account with a different brokerage without such fees but having to juggle all these different apps is annoying.

thats not really true though

you can read channel14 (turboconservatives, breibart/fox news for israel) with translate and their comments are 80% of the time bitching about "kaplanists" (there was some protest or something by libjoos on a Kaplan Street a while back), its a very similar dynamic to America where they are bitching about libs most of the time.

what the leadership actually wants geostrategically is a different issue, but the hoi polloi is similar to american dynamics
>>
>>62393436
Hmm, my guess is that quite a bit, since they react to market news, so they'll likely to have some vested interest in market movement to keep an eye on it, implying they have some sort of portfolio. Being that dedicated to just post some images from time to time seems a bit too much, but the anons lurking these places aren't always exactly the most well adjusted ones.

I don't understand our /pol/ antijoo posters.

You want the deal to fail so that the war which you think the joos want will continue, and you think this will cause the prices in the casino you think is run and completely controlled by them to tank and crash.

This makes no sense using your own internal logic.

META is building an ugly inverse head&shoulders pattern which should lead it to at least $800-$1000 circa mid late '27.

Yo have the AIs gotten dumber? They are retarded now.
>>
>>62393471
No, I want the pool to be open to not fuck with the world economy that's reliant on free transportations of goods over the globe. I don't really care about the sons of David in particular, though it's not hard to take Iran's side here. Trump himself withdrew from the nuclear deal with Iran to just start to bombing them over it, hoping they'll keel over and hand over their enriched uranium. I don't mind seeing the plan fail, though it taking the rest of the world with it isn't very nice to see. Pool being closed means decreased supply of goods, which disrupts chains and hurt overall productivity and economy, with increased inflation, which impacts stocks, pushing prices of companies down.

Not sure what doesn't make sense.

I hate /pol/ talk on /biz/ but this is the dumbest take on this whole situation
iran does not have the luxury of blinking in the face of ZOG they're fighting against all their neighbors too it's a very tough play and it requires they take this hard line maximalist positions to assert themselves rationally they've been extremely restrained, not out of the goodness of their heart but because they can't do this any other way
they don't bomb kids schools for psychological warfare then pay fake news to right it down to an oopsie daisy, and they don't take fake deals because they have nothing more to lose and headlines don't fix their country unlike a certain goyconomy

Yes, many.

If the Zionists want the war, and if this war depends on a lack of public antagonism towards the war, then why would they want to crash the market which would obviously be blamed on the war?

Are you actually retarded?
I mean, I know that the answer is yes, but like, I'm borrowing your framework here and you're still a fucking retard.
>>
>>62393548
How could you look at the deal they were offered and change one of your demands to a total withdrawal from Lebanon rather than just stopping the fighting there? Its subtle, but they altered the deal.
I hate israel for what theyre doing there but no comprimise at all is NOT how you negotiate, ever.
>>
>>62393513
>asking to be annihilated
Honestly, if that was an option, it possibly would've transpired already. The reality seems to be that that wouldn't have opened the strait of Hormuz and would likely close it for a very long time with rest of the region being fucked over for a very long time, that's why there are the negotiations as Iran can inflict huge damage while being taken down.

Yeah, and that's fine.

You're not approaching it from and anitsemetic conspiracy framework and just think
>pools closed = less oil = demand destruction = markets dump.
That is at least internally consistent logic.

I'm talking about someone who thinks the joos rule the world via shadow government are going to let or intentionally crash markets they believe are under their control when they will be the ones blamed for it and when it will destroy support for their war.

This makes no sense.

besides definitely being an ideological issue the lebanon thing is the closest thing to a shit test they have to prod at the deal to check its authenticity

What boots nigguh? Regime change projects in the middle east take hundreds of thousands of soldiers and multigenerational commitments. Bush started with 80% support for his war, Trump is starting with 30%. If Trump tried to start a full scale invasion I think odds are he'd get impeached. One of the biggest reasons Trump won in 16 in the first place was in the house Republican anger at the Bush dynasty about the Iraq war. Full scale invasion and occupation isn't on the table, AIPAC has had months to dream up pretenses and pressure for a larger scale war. No dice. It's not happening.

Much deeper than that. Iraq would require to be reinvaded first. 1 year minimum. Then break the mountains east of Kuwait. Coastal advance.

Anyway. Doesn’t matter. This is a multi year two million man operation. Under continuous bombardment this time. Air superiority under 30ft impossible near the front line. It’s not happening. That how stupid this is. Is America in the mood right now for waves for 300k conscriptions. Years of war. While they collapse at home to the AI god. Accelerating trillionaires. All for a country they increasingly loath. And that means their own and Israel?

It’s the stuff revolutions are made of. In a country with maybe 400m firearms.

Yes it’s called a test of strength. And it’s clear Iran has a grip of a vital artery of American power. Now some might say. The gulf doesn’t matter to America. But if you are a global hegemon. Your artery’s (capital flows into your reserve currency unit). Then your body and weak points do indeed span the globe. That the paradox of power. The greater your extent the greater your weak points. It’s a geopolitical equivalent of Triffins Paradox in the monetary realm of empire.
>>

Men who are emotionally attached to the idea of having kids are a women. You have a hormonal and mental imbalance. Women want kids because of their generic motherly instincts. You want kids cause you're a weirdo.

how much does it cost to have a naval fleet constantly there vs the 2 million per tanker? you realize quickly why they will pay the 2 million on a 100+ million oil tanker.

You don't realize how much loss of revenue that translates into. They don't have to protect ships 24/7 just be a pervasive threat to Iran. Yes it's cheaper to escort ships when need be than pay a toll on every ship. Iran hasn't thought their strat through too well.

When 40+ nations have the same vested interest and are pooling together for a common goal it doesn't take much resource wise to bypass 1 countries toy boats. You're grossly misunderstanding what Iran can actually do. Our small naval presence alone utterly rekt Iran. Now imagine the whole world doing the same. If each one only contributed a token amount of effort here and there it would add up to an overwhelming presence that's cost effective and more importantly denies Iran the ability to politically control the world which is the most important part. Iran can't do shit

>They don't have to protect ships 24/7 just be a pervasive threat to Iran.
this is a contradiction. you can tbe a 24/7 threat without spending money on having the fleet sit in water near them. The naval budget for a single us carrier is like $7 million a day. cheaper than the daily rate of boats but a carrier isnt alone. you basically spend billions per year on the navy so oil companies can make money and expose sailors to iranian drones. You havent thought through this strat.
>>
>>62393951
i doubt iran wants to directly and outright attack the us military most likely because they are in doubt about they can do
same thing with the us military - they to dont know how an all out drone attack on their assets will play out because the us is only used to bombing unarmed civilians and not fighting a war against a modern military
it's a stalemate through and through
furthermore they have supply issue to contend with as their supplies chain can easily be disrupted in transit
>>
>>62393957
Well, hope you're right then. I've read posts about how USA can open the strait anytime they decide to months ago, they just didn't decide to open it yet for some reason.
>>
>>62393957
tell that to the russians
>>
>>62393969
>it's a stalemate through and through
This. Both sides want to project the idea theyd win but the US loses way more if it turns out shahed drones can threaten a carrier. thats a massive threat to modern naval warfare. so each side keeps a distance and pretends their better.
>>
>>62393967
Drones cost $50k that's a lot of span to inflict 0 damage each time. Plus boats destroyed plus missiles destroyed. All fake no damage. Now add $2mil on top of each tanker. The economics are grossly against Iran.
>>62393968
You seem to be completely unaware that 40+ nations have gotten together to ensure safe passage which costs USA $0
>>
>>62393970
USA has been secretly transporting ships through unscathed since project freedom. Iran can't do shit
>>
>>62393977
>40+ nations have gotten together to ensure safe passage which costs USA $0
no they didnt. thats why trump was whining on truth social. literally no one showed up except the us. Also why would they spend their money on it? someone is spending money, its either euros or the US and euros said they arent interested.
>>62393979
>USA has been secretly transporting ships through unscathed since project freedom. Iran can't do shit
theres no evidence this happened btw. Oil markets would see the oil entering the market and they didnt.
>>
>>62393977
38 of those nations dont actually want to fight and will only provide token support
>>
>>62393982
>theres no evidence this happened btw. Oil markets would see the oil entering the market and they didnt.
USA has been selling a lot of oil from their reserves. Maybe they are just lying and are instead smuggling it.
Kinda cool that the government decided to get into piracy and smuggling this year.
>>
>>62393982
You're so utterly clueless I'm not going to keep responding. The 40+ nations doesn't want to engage in the war. Once USA pulls out they will ensure their tankers can safely transport. If you think they will pay Iran to do so you don't know how the world works simple as. Iran is literally ran by extremist nutjobs. That's not how the world works
>>
>>62393986
>. Once USA pulls out they will ensure their tankers can safely transport.
With what navy? Euros dont have much. Also why would they spend billions to escort it when they didnt muck up the strait in the first place. Theyll just pay the toll and move on.
>>
>>62393975
You're thinking too hard about this, shahed drones won't threaten a carrier by themselves if they were used for such a purpose, but in large enough numbers they might mask a ship killing missile from radar or overwhelm the radar
The drones don't need to go after carriers they just need to attack the shipping lanes and freighters traversing the strait to stop all traffic, it only gets worse when you start factoring in submersible drones
>>
>>62393984
They don't want to support USA in war. When the war ends they will do as necessary to ensure safe transport including forming a NATO resolution that ensures safe passage by any means necessary. They've literally held discussions on this very topic with these very solutions I'm telling you they are facts not banter
>>

>>
>>62393999
the NATO part has nothing to do with trump or USA. it's the solution that 40+ non USA nations have been working on when USA is done with Iran and has nothing to do with fighting the war it's the steps necessary to make sure they can transport oil safely which so not include: paying Iran . which do include: escorting tankers by force. France already positioned a warship accordingly

Sometimes the market just does gay and retarded shit. You have to know that if you're thinking
>wat about the earnings?
Everyone else is thinking that too, and they are positioning themselves according to their own viewpoints. And people are positioning themselves based on how they think everyone else is positioning themselves, and then people are positioning themselves off of that. It's recursive, "I know you know that I know, and I know that you know that I know that you know..." ad infinitum. Markets don't have to react rationally, they don't have to be consistent, they don't have to dip on bad earnings or bounce on good earnings.
>>
>>62394015

What’s its position. The US didn’t dare bring a carrier group less than 1900km for the last 100 days. Even then they are vulnerable. Iran just hasn’t specifically targeted them because they are controlling the escalation ladder.

The market basically has to price in unexpected changes beforehand. Simultaneously because of all the 'tricks' they've got programmed in, it is much harder for a prolonged crash to happen like in 2008. Not impossible or different this time (TM), but the cash has no where to go and confidence in the markets are at historical highs.

Personally I suspect this has now reached the level where the market will keep going up until there is 0% doubt that the oil crisis will happen and by that I mean once the oil crisis has started. Then and only then will the dump begin, in fact things have gotten so bad the market might just pump for a whole week after the oil crisis is obviously here and then dump. Don't believe me? Look at recent years how the market gets slurped up. I would not doubt seeing $15 per gallon of gas and markets going up because "its fake dude there is no oil crisis!"
