I have a useless bachelor's in economics. Is it even worthwhile to get certified for... ...anything? Is it worthwhile in the current job market or should I just lie on my resume for a basic office job? I can program but it's only for R and atp with how few callbacks actual professionals get atm with beefed up resumes, I'm pondering the time investment for any serious programming certifications or any certifications for that matter.

I thank that man every day, pure luck he was looking out for me.I went with accounting which turned out well, but that was so many years ago and nowadays all the firms just send the work to india, shitty field now with zero opportunity. So I am not helpful, just regaling a tale.Many professions likely credit you for a good chunk of your existing education, so you wouldn't start from scratch at least.
>>62394370My sibling has an econ degree and works in insurance. There are a lot of finance-adjacent jobs that'll accept you with one. Your econ degree also probably crossed over a lot into accounting, and you could look into taking the missing credits (probably 20 or so) for a few thousand at community college to fulfill the CPA pre requisites. Why did you get into econ in the first place? And do you have much debt? Econ never made sense to me because you get more or less the same experience in accounting or finance but they have direct practical application.
