Ive had this discussion adnaseum with my friends who all became faggot boggleheads when they hit a million. I get the math problems but looking at how UPRO, SSO, and TQQQ performed something is not lining up. It obviously not only worked, it worked unimaginably spectacularly. I get it was a golden bull run but we really could continue, and even if we dont 50% or 25% of the same results would be more than good enough.
So I fully respect the psychological arguments. I myself pussied out of 125000 shares of SOXL at $22, but the decay and chop arguments I think are very much overblown.
IDK, this is where Im leaning these days, love talking about it

>>62494237
I'm seething hard enough at this point that I'd rather just see it dump than pump. Ironic considering my bullidh holdings, but I've been screwed hard enough that I don't care dump it. Dump SOXL back to sub $50. At least then the markets are far more stable. Actually due to SOXLs leverage it'll probably go much lower than $50 if semis are to be priced at March levels.

The funny thing is that if Trump had actually bothered to go all in on infrastructure then the US economy would probably be booming right now. We still need new bridges all over the place. And all that green energy money Biden wanted to spend could easily fit into a project like that if the Republicans weren't dead set on keeping a "drill baby drill" policy that doesn't do a damn thing to actually help energy companies (every single smart oil company has been investing into alternatives so they can swap over as these lines continue to diverge from fossil fuel based sources).

But it's irritating to lose potential gains by trying to be responsible when I should have just remained a stubborn retard posting memes on /smg/. The silver lining is that my other AI-adjacent plays are pumping in sympathy. I was going to just hold until earnings season but I talked myself out of it. Ah well

Same here. One green day merely gives one a temporary reprieve.

This is something I frankly do not understand. 'Potential gains' are not what you might have made buying in at a lower level. They are the fat green numbers you have not yet converted into realized gains. You must husband them carefully. Stop worrying about might-have beens.

Yeah, Fuck Kerry. I sort of find McCain likable, but I can't get past the neocon shit. My biggest problem with Gore is that he and the Clinton administration put the breaks on nuclear power. We could have had a first rate, modern grid if we had had a consistent "all of the above" energy policy for the last thirty years. We should have been building nukes. Even after he was out of politics Gore was still fudding nukes in congressional testimonies, claiming things like renewables would totally replace the grid. Renewables are great where they fit the use case, but they are not yet, and definitely weren't then, a complete replacement. We could have been building out the grid for 30 years, but fuds fudded us out of it.

To be fair, it sounds like Gore has changed his rhetoric on nuclear. And he definitely wasn't the only fudling about nukes, there's a long history of that. But if you look at the carbon emissions per capita of France compared to the US, it's something like 1/4. There was a huge missed opportunity for the environmental people to come up with some abundance agenda ideas in the early 2000s when people really started to care about energy. Anyway, it is what it is.

After a decade on /smg/, I have come to realize that Bobo is the truth. You see, Mumu is fearful, he prays line will infinitely go up to escape his wage cage. He watches the ticker as he sweats, knowing his 0dte is decaying. The Mumu does not understand the concept of selling. He would rather have his calls expire worthless than admit defeat. The Mumu is naive, and full of fear.

The Bobo, however, is confident. He knows line will always go up, but he carpet dime (seize the day) and the opportunities it brings. Bobo will sell his puts if the stock rises too high, and accept it. He does not let his puts expire, as he understands that you win some you lose some. This is why bobos are more succesful. You could argue they are more risky, but they also keep a cool head and understand risk vs reward.

I think the main reason we haven't mass switched is that Nat Gas is produced in such a high amount as a byproduct of oil production that if you care about the environment its likely better to burn it for energy usage than it is to burn it off as waste like some countries have done before finding a buyer for new oil wells.

DOE told obama that it was such an issue that they had to shut down the coal plants and in addition coal is such in abundance that its considered a strategic reserve if Nat Gas/Oil ever runs low.
