KOSPI is held mostly by retail investors. Those people thought it was a good idea to pile up into KOSPI with leverage ETFs, using margin to buy more, wiith money they got from bank loans. Then we have foreign institutional money which had a problem as KOSPI went up because the growth is mostly done by two companies (Samsung Eletronics and SK Hynix), they are not allowed to have that much concentration so when the two companies got too big they were forced to sell.In a normal world this might not be that big of a problem but with KOSPI there was a little situation. Leveraged ETFs work by resetting their leverage daily which means that if the underlying went up they need to buy more stock to increase leverage and if it goes down you need to sell stock to deleverage. Not a big deal usually but when most of people holding your index are gambling retail investors using leverage ETFs then you can spiral out of control. It's got to a point that institutional investors in Hong Kong are now waiting until 3PM to trade the sell off or buy in that the leverage ETFs have to do at 5PM to rebalance their daily levarage.

Starship launch Thursday
>>62501249>totally irrational and retarded and there is no bearish thesisThat's what markets do as there are plenty of anxiety over the progress of AI development, including capex spending and increasing debt, return on investment, parabolical value increases, energy price increases/rate hikes, supply glut/demand destruction, better chinese models, cyclical nature of the AI spending, where people just tend to trim their positions and profit take to rebalance their portfolios (which is a very prudent move). Also there are so many leveraged products tied to usage of semiconductors, amplifying any move.So yeah, while I remain VERY bullish on semis/memory, I do get why there may be dipping. If nothing else, you can take it as a buying/doubling down opportunity that's healthy and even confirms that this isn't just a tulip FOMO craze, as there are periods of time used to re evaluate the whole trade instead of line going straight up.Whenever in doubt just think of whether the thesis changed and what the fundamentals are now. If they've only improved you can just keep calm and hold your bags or even increase your position.
At least the KOSPI is not bogging and rugging today

All of these things need memory I jsut wish I wasn't a bitch and went 50/50 sandisk/wdc/stx/micron a year ago.
>>62501273the money has nowhere left to go.Also importantly, japan's market is closed so island gooks can't double the rug by bitching out on kioxia. >oil computer mooning againfuck I am getting so raped on openraped and gapedI will never financially recover
>>62501278>It's not a cycle That's yet to be seen. It's been in the past, thus the expectations are as such, where you saying that "this time it's different" reeks of delusion and flashes as a warning sign.Where I stand is that even if it's cyclical, the peak hasn't been reached yet, but that then raises the question of what the peak would be and when to exit to not bag hold, which would then make any dips absolute selling opportunity. Not to mention that even if the current setup would make it non-cyclical, that doesn't mean that the demand and high premiums that the memory companies charge won't give eventually, annihilating their profits.

>>62501304Always panic. We are smg though why care about boomer boxes lmao
>>62501301>internetWhich is exactly the parallel people are using. Internet was huge, but dotcom still happened. >>62501349SOXL
>>62501327Pls.
>>62501339>years from nowBut the market, which is forward looking, does. And that's implying it has to be years, which may not be the case if so much is being bankrolled on private debt and we suddenly get rate hikes, making it all unravel. Once Open AI fucks off the other pieces get affected. To what degree I can't tell, but something like demand for chips could suffer heavily.
>>62501160Why not death to both?
>>62501358we are bulls here

>>62501355>Ironically sustainable AI economics will be figured out years from nowNot exactly. It's still heavily work in progress with tokens giving back some revenue. The thing here is that companies may just decide to be the loss leaders for a long time before trying to fully reap the benefits, which may just absolutely annihilate companies whose sole business avenue is AI.
>>62501359The point where the market is forward looking is where the companies aren't money printers and that's not the point we're at, the literal opposite. Record growth and not only not losses like in dotcom era not even a decline, not even a little.
>>62501365just say death to russia, it covers bothLine only goes up
>>62501371They're forward looking either way. We're in the era of LAG7 for a reason, people can see that there are heavy investments, but to what degree it'll work out is up for question.

If everyone is so bearish on Korea, why do analysts like him claim this?>https://x.com/RealNickMugalli/status/2078820349836206319>Everyone’s asking if Korea has bottomed. We’ve spent the last few days pulling up all the actual leverage data we can find on Bloomberg and Korean banks purchased data and we can say we’de close to the bottom and might have already bottomed last week.

>>62501399Nobody is bearish on korea but there was so much leverage that any small movement got magnified and KOSPI is too concentrated so a lot of funds had to pull out of korea because of their own rules. There are quite a lot of variables that could be affected in different ways depending upon the scenario.
>>62501416>raw materialsno, thats fucking stupid. Raw materials have the least profitability and volatility, they supply multiple industries so when one industry has a dip, raw materials are barely affected.

>>62501576Apparently it might be coming to an end and we might've reached the bottom, but I'm still waiting until at least it starts recovering, especially due to geopolitics now. We might be getting some more dumps triggered externally.
>>62501606So how does this get orderbook data while robinhood doesnt even give me that info on overnight despite paying for robinhood gold?
>>62501611Huh. Well Im already stuck holding bullish bets in a desperate attempt if regaining my losses. I can't really risk betting more what with the fake pumps that end up crashing like a day later for the last few weeks. Man I hope it pumps hard though.
What kind of mental illness is it that forces people to trade cat shitcoins with x3 leverage. Its not even a tulip, at least those are good to look at ffs.
>>62501610it's legit go ahead and pull up two different chart sites can compare them>>62501612cause youre a dummyfrom what i understand hyperdash pays for everything because of feesim havent researched the site very much but an article from may this year said it's legit and goodthey have a ticker too PURRthe article explains price fluctuations of PURRyoull find the article if yo ubother to look it up yourself
>>62501606>the extra data from hyperdash helps
>>62501619yea i know
>>62501615I myself am very bullish on the sector. Currently like -15% on BAKA, but I'm not worried much at all. I think I'll double down by going into KOSPI. The only thing concerning me is some debt/hikes/inflation related issues triggering a chain reaction, taking down a large part of the demand for chips, but that's mostly it.
>>62501332have they not made any sec filings yet?
>>62501605Love these gremlins.
>>62501622>rate hikesI keep forgetting the potential for that. 1 rate hike might be all it takes to dump semis. Cant they really afford the AI buildout if rate hikes began? Idk man only 4 meetings left with iirc supposedly 1 rate hike on the table. Ugh I think Ill just sleep in and do nothing but hold my current positions. My large bet alone can wipe out most of my losses if semis pump. I think I'll be satisfied with that rather than risking more. I either lose hard on that bet but effectively prevent myself from worsening my position or I win it back and can stay a neet longer. The amount was just enough where every bet makes a substantial difference in pushing from temporary neetdom to permanent neetdom. I think I just need to collect my bearings for now.
>SKHY -4% on KOSPI>SKHY +4% on NASDAQ>SKHY +6.4% on GETTEXHmmmmmmm. I wouldn't be shocked if gooks will be mooning in no time.
>>62501332That does make me worried. They seemingly bailed after spacex dumped likely from its obvious overvaluation. Same thing with those AI stocks. Just cause these conpanies gave them X amount doesnt mean the conpany truly is worth $1 trillion. It's like me just opening up a lemonade stand and making it a company and immediately announcing there are 1 trillion private shares and I own them all. A funding round where I am selling 1 share to the highest bigger. Google then proceeds to give me $1 for 1 share. And just like that my business is worth $1 trillion. Kek
>>62501642Well, I don't think that rate hikes self would be the death of semis, but it might be the straw that broke the camel's back. Tough to say honestly. A lof ot the buildout is financed by debt, so even if the returns are there, hikes could fatally change the math on that.Even then it might be a termporary setback that may get resolved sooner, rather than later. Like even if the bubble pops the damage may not be that huge, tough to say.
>>62501646If stock doesn't pay divies then it's worth anything the markets decide at the given time.
>>62501619I dont get it
>>62501651just because you have lots of information the stock is going down doesnt mean youll sell before it goes super negative or sell the bottomsome people are just really fucking dumbincurable optimists who cant cut their losses when they are supposed to
>>62501646I wouldn't be too bearish on not rushing the IPO. Like if the situation was really, REALLY dire, then you'd want to rush the IPO as soon as possible to get as much exit liquidity while you can. I think it's more about macro concerns, but that's me pulling stuff out of my ass. Things like enough liquidity and government approval. You can call it cope and it might be, but trying to go for the IPO as soon as possible would've been way more concerning.
My wife made white people tacos for dinner last night, I took this as a sign to long NQ.
>>62501349>>62501368Something similar actually happened to me once. I ran rm -rf on a variable that was supposed to be a path, like /VAR1/VAR2. I wasn't aware that instead of throwing an error it just ran rm -rf on /. If I'd had sudo I'd have bricked our entire server. Instead I just got a lot of permission denied before ctrl-c'ing.
anyone thinking about selling at close today if market closes green
>>62501670No, if I do that its going to keep going up the whole week.
>>62501673Do it please, I want to pump up my bags.
>>62501673maybe only sell one of your small positions so your other big size plays goes up bigly
Erm but what about Kimi o algo
Futures are greenFuck this clown market when are we getting our bloody monday
>>62501605>Undoro'd versionblasphemy>>62501668Apparently it was not Sol per se that was so stupid, but because it ran on Ultra it spawned much stupider helper agents, and these commit these 2007-tier shell operation idiocies. Although actually even when working with a front line model I still get sometimes "the shell didn't escape it properly. Let me fix it..." messages in the AI chats (so the problem isn't entirely the AI).
>>62501682Sorry Warren, but probably not anytime soon, at least not this year. We're in a long bull market with minor mild corrections being the best thing you're likely gonna get.

>>62501694> SKHY ADR price: $162> 000660 SK HYNIX equivalent: $119Once the ADR lists in korea on july 29th arbitrage will likely drag SKHY down and domestic up. Until then enjoy the roundeye pump and feel for a short time what it's like to trade SKHY in a market not prone to periodic chain reaction forced liquidations every 30 minutes
>>62501702We shall see. I expected semis to be heavily recoving with the great TSMC/ASML earnings, but it didn't happen. If Alphabet won't be a catalyst, then I'm kind of lost at what would make it happen.
what will happen today fellas? I was about to go to bed and wondering if i should stay up and watch the show

Some important notes if you're getting into the AI tradeFor profit frontier labs are going to die.the value isn't in designing AI models. Kimi 3 proves a frontier model can be designed on a shoestring budget. We're going to get a flood of free, open source LLMs, some of which may even be better than anything from Anthropic or OpenAI.The value is in the compute. Google and Amazon own the most compute in the world. They can be had for cheap right now. META has a lot of compute as well, and is a good value play. MSFT has shitload of compute,I believe it's number 3. OpenAI also has a lot of compute.Anthropic has fuckall for compute. The neocloud is a decent value play, but most of them are heavily leveraged and up to the necks in debt, like Coreweave and Oracle. There is also the supply chain of compute. That's the semis, and the semi supply chain. They're on a sale right now. It's a great time to get in.
>>62501780Only neocloud worth buying is NBIS because they own their datacenters IMO I've been slurping
>>62501772I'm so fucking happy I managed to time the exact bottom on Friday

Did we just rebel against the Korean? They're still red. Everything seems to say 'buy NOW', but I wonder how long it'll last.
>>62501780>The value is in the compute.Oh fuck off with this shit. Why would any large business (from which the frontier labs and therefore the hyperscalers derive most of their revenue), pay millions of dollars for compute and risk their IP getting into the hands of their competitors when they can buy the hardware they need for a couple million and run an opensource model for just the price of the power it takes to run the mainframe? It makes no sense.
>>62501797Truth be speaking I believe there will be more nigger actions in the gulf, leading to another leg lower in a month or so. But since I can't predict the future I take what I get and I bought 9 month calls. 1 month of bear more or less doesn't really matter
ANOTHER PEACE DEAL PAMP LFG, BOBOS ABSOLUTELY SODOMIZED
>>62501811The West will NEVER EVEREVER EVERbuy compute from China. But they absolutely WILL run Chink models on the Western neoclouds like Nebius that provide the compute. It does not make sense for a shoe retailer to have their own server farm to run their shoe-centered AI when they could buy this off Nebius or IREN.
>>62501818Nebius is going to pull an oracle and rape your ass until you need KMB diapers. Just buy KMB
>>62501818 >The West will NEVER EVER buy compute from ChinaWhen did I say they would?>It does not make sense for a shoe retailer to have their own server farm to run their shoe-centered AI It doesn't make sense for a shoe retailer to use AI in the first place. Anyway, hyperscalers will be saddled with hundreds of billions in debt and useless chips nobody wants to pay for. Sorry about your bags, baggie.
