It's also super fucking funny watching the poisoning happen in real time. If you ask AI a niche question and get a retarded answer, if you type that answer into going with "reddit" on there you'll often find the exact comment that the LLM was relying on. If you buy into this narrative, then you should be shorting the entire AI industry right now. We are less than 5 years into ChatGPT being a thing and estimations say that 50% of new content is already AI-generated.
Any institution with a decade+ of user content is sitting on an ever appreciating treasure trove. The internet is going to become unusable for training in less than a decade from now.

See that 2025 crash around Trump's tariffs?
Exactly the same thing.
Metaverse is now nothing and failed. It failed like 3 years ago. And the stock still climbed to all time highs and if you invested back then you would have quadrupled your money. Making your stock purchases on shit like Metaverse and Facebook rather than just looking at the financials and fundamentals is being a meme trader. Go buy SPCX if you want to ignore finance numbers and want to dream about some concept.

They are the most likely to be the first ones to stop being a growth business, but Meta is not going under any time soon.
They control every western normalfag social platform other than tiktok and youtube (and X, but X is a fucking meme as a business) and new social platforms pretty much don't happen anymore. Also, they are by far the most effective adds company in terms of how much money they are able to generate out of their users.
Even if no one in gen alpha and onwards ever uses their shit and they eneded up failing completely at AI, Meta can maintain the current numbers for at least 20 years more. At its current ratios, there's pretty much no way you lose money on Meta long term.
Meta looks bad at the moment because their attempts to keep being a high growth company are not panning out, but they have their current business locked the fuck down. They could pivot into being a modern blue chip, reduce their capex and other spending and just keep printing money for decades.

>it would forever cuck them into reddit tier company
Meta without the datacenters/AI shit is still a stronger business than 99% of companies anon. They have some of the craziest margins out of any company, even while burning tens of billions on new bets, and they get it from products that no one can compete with because good luck getting people to use a Facebook/Instagram clone in the big 26.
Reddit is going to go back to being a platform that makes no money once they run out of data to sell due to all the newer content being poisoned for training by AI use.
If you think these two could form part of the same conversation any time soon, you might be elegible for retardbuxx anon.

>The company cut the price of GPT-5.6 Luna by 80% and GPT-5.6 Terra by 20%. Luna is now priced at $0.20 per million input tokens and $1.20 per million output tokens, down from $1 and $6. Terra's rates fell to $2 per million input tokens and $12 per million output tokens, from $2.50 and $15. Pricing for Sol, the most capable model in the family, remains unchanged, the company said.

The execution and going so hard into it this early and marketing it as something that could already be big was retarded (as other anon said, Meta really need better PR teams) but the investment itself was a solid idea.
A new technology creating the space for new social platforms is legit the only thing that could kill Meta, so they wanted to be ahead of the curve just in case regardless of how remote the chance of a metaverse becoming mainstram is.

>What even is META's revenue stream? Just selling your data on insta, whatsapp, and FB?
They do some selling but mainly they take your data, build a profile on you and serve you adds that are hyper optimized to have the highest posible chance of getting you to spend money and get paid handsomely by the companies whose products they advertise. They are the best in the industry at this.
>A solid business for sure, but not an entirely safe one either as seen by all the social media fads dying out over the years.
The "fad" platforms die because they just have no room to survive anymore. The last big platform that actually stuck around was TikTok which is already 10 years old and they succeeded by exploiting the gap in the market of short video format.
We used to get new platforms and startups taking their shot at the social network game every couple years back when the space for newcomers still existed. Now you'd get laughed out of the room by venture capital if you told them you want to start a social network company.
There's pretty much not going to be any new social platforms anymore unless a new technology like VR takes over and creates space. There's no content niches to exploit anymore, people are not going to leave the platforms they are used to where all their friends and family are (X/Twitter surviving despite being a shitshow and involved in so much political shit is proof of this) and new platforms are dead on arrival if they can't capture a big userbase immediately.

I’ve enjoyed all the sympathy I’ve being reading and listening to in the hedgie bubble. But really that reveals a doubt and a fear for those expressing it in those circles. He’s not the only one with massive leveraged positions in AI stocks. That can’t sell and are deep deep underwater (because unloading would utterly tank the market).

They are hoping and praying the market sentiment turns real fast. And are sweating on the basis end of the trade as so much of the money was borrowed in Yen to buy dollars (gotta have that basis skim).

Hence the Treasuries and Bessets threat to intervene in the JPY/USD market. There is some incredible pressure building under the market. BE CAREFUL!

Leverage in the US is at record highs. And the big banks WILL liquidate to save their own skins. Even the biggest funds.

One caveat that’s possible. Outright market buying by the Fed (they will try to mask it). But they will sell and us it as exit liquidity and floor the system with dollars. It can’t be hidden for long. The Fed is doing a lot of dark bond buying at the moment. The effects emerge in the forex markets. And are obviously. This is the reason China is pulling up the monetary drawbridge.

Just the other day a beautiful angel was walking towards me in Manhattan and I only looked up for a second to keep an image of her in my head long enough to reach my apartment so I could jerk off to the thought of her and ending up tripping on a minor gap in the sidewalk. When I fell the girl made a “yikes” face but there was this fuckin nigger that was loudly yelping and screeching like a fucking chimp “ohhhh nawwwwww son nawww hahaahaha” and he wouldn’t stop. He even pretended to extend his hand to me but faked me out and I fell a second time. I finally git my bearings about me and got up and ran with tears in my eyes.

No. But that type of liquidity or level of crisis. If it’s truly deemed a national security issue. Guess where the opportunity lies.

Question. How do you “short” this situation. Massive over leverage in equities unwinding (many factors, obviously leverage, the trade narrative unwinding, no bulk buyers and market has no bid on such volumes, cost of financing this trade rising rapidly because of JPY/USD. Solution is already happening from Fed. JPY swap lines, forex intervention, hidden yield curve control, hidden energy intervention. Basically monetisation of these problems (it’s never not printing).

How do you “short” them flooding the system with liquidity to save the system? Tell me what’s the upcoming next trade with asymmetric upside.

You can drop it to Google tier but no lower. Amazon's business is super solid (though parts of it are getting fucked by oil prices, but that will recover eventually), still growing across the board at a steady pace and still at a price and ratios that are very good for those conditions.
Below google on my list it's all either chip companies with uncertain long-term performance, Meta and Apple who are struggling to break out of their established businesses (but apple is both more expensive and more at risk of external factors like oil and hardware prices as well as growing competition in the stagnant smartphone space) or >Tesla.

A land war to enter Irans interior would require 300k frontline troops. So that’s about 3 million total in theatre. In countries that won’t have a single power station, water desalination plant or airport within 2500km to reply upon. All while under continuous drone, cruise missile and ballistic missile fire. For 3-8 months. And that’s just to BUILD UP the forces (with no water or power) before a multi year attack happens. Where you have to reinvade Iraq first again (how long did that take last time was it successful?) and then you hit the Iranian mountains.

Oh and by the way. Your economy collapsed by month 3. And people are in the streets outraged at 5x diesel by winter.

Time to wake up anon. Reality is calling.

There's no reason MU in the long term should be trading below a 5 multiple.
Every single capex spender is crying about memory spend. Tim Apple seethed for two paragraphs about how every quarter will be worse than the last.

In the short term they can hold you underwater and drown you for months. I don't think it makes sense for Ken to dump the port into the numbers when it's already distressed and the shorts have covered but I'm not going to argue with obvious retail bait this morning and institution time sell pressure.

>Reddit
Reddit can't grow because it barely makes money to spend on growth. They only broke into the green this year with the AI training hype.
>Vine
Vine was just mismanaged to shit and never managed to capture the market size it should have had.

None of the two have ever been established mainstream platforms. Once you reach that point, it is extremely hard to die, especially now.
About the Meta userbase, as you said, Facebook dominates the boomer/gen X demographic who are by far the most valuable users for an adds business. The normalfag millennials and gen Z are all on instagram as well, so that's 4 out of 4 when it comes to the generations that actually have money. The only userbase Meta lacks is gen alpha and the youngest zoomers, but that age range is still decades away from reaching their peak value as users.
There's also whatsapp which basically everyone in the west outside of the USA uses and, although it doesn't generate much money on its own, it still serves as a source of data to use for user profiling (any time meta says they don't use it for that, they are lying).
As I said, even if Gen Z was the last ever generation to use a Meta social platform, Meta would still be able to pump out similar numbers to currently for decades.

You’re assuming the forward guidance is guaranteed. The AI narrative has already collapsed (not the hardware one the one of the model companies). And there’s not hardware cycle without the driving companies narrative being believed by the market. You need to be fucking delusional at this point to see a path to profitability for the likes of OpenAi or most US model companies. And I don’t care if you disagree. The market is telling you this! Look at the AI debt bond prices. The CDS for them rising. It’s collapsed already as a story.

It’s Literally Trump and his team left pretending China isn’t going to undercut any hope of this shit making money.

The forward guidance is largely guaranteed until 2027.
When MU says it throw salt at the statement. When we've sat through AMZN, META, MSFT, AAPL, GOOGL, and they all say the same thing in chorus we have a rather firm picture about where we're going companies with every incentive to lie and downplay their cost centers. Tim Apple explicitly noted on his call that even if they got their hands on chink memory we can all see the prices they're selling at and they aren't undercutting anyone.
You can chart what the cartel is selling memory for. You can chart what the chinks are selling it for. Number goes up and to the right.

I'm someone who was short this until they trapped me and limited me out yesterday but I think I've done my due diligence. There's literally no fucking way to read the fundamentals as deserving this. But you can't argue with flows if people are still selling it get out of the way or try to find another short entry if you're me.

If the profit will actually realize, then the companies are more than likely to issue huge stock buybacks or dividend payments, which will pump the stock prices regardless of the market thinks. I don't think there's much more to it needed.

The biggest issue I see is demand destruction due to OpenAI/Antropic failing. Apart from that it seems mostly safe.

It's only like 10% below ATH and at a high P/E.
It should have dropped way harder by now. There's no way hardware and oil prices don't take a chunk off its margins over the following year.
Shit will hit the fan once they announce the next iPhone and it turns out to be either a piece of garbage, decent but 1200 bucks or both and everyone starts crying online about it.
Pretty sure the only thing keeping it up is that a lot of dumb money is buying Apple to get away from AI stocks as it is the biggest company not riding that train.

The missiles the USA is launching are just being used to make it seem like Trump is doing something.
If missiles could solve the situation, they would have already thrown as many as necessary.
So only thing that changes is that everyone clowns on the USA harder, but Iran will keep blocking the straight at will either way.

20% is SPY and 5% is an emerging markets fund.
SPY is just a glorified tech/AI index now (though at least the Tesla holding is not as big anymore compare to a year or two ago) and the em. market funds are getting shat on by oil prices.

How early are we talking? I assume the lock up timeline below is the "Significant Investors" one.

I bet a ton of people bought houses, cars, etc before they actually sold and are going to get fucked.

Its within the first 180 days. They can sell as the lockups open. And yeah they're watching their shit melt so they'll be desperate to cash out. When my company IPO'd everyone couldn't wait to cash out the first day we were able.

How low can it realistically go in 180 days? It's already dumped 50% from peak in 30, but Musk has managed to somehow keep the Tesla stock afloat for years on nothing but bullshit so I don't think it can get THAT much worse

Nobody knows. I'm very bearish on it and have made money shorting it, but I didn't expect it to go this well. I still have some puts open but I've taken a lot of profits and I closed all my short call spreads. I think we could see a significant squeeze before earnings and then it will dump more.
