How can the US SPR be refilled with Venezuelan oil, when Venezuelan oil doesn't get even remotely close to meeting the API gravity or sulfur content requirements of the SPR?

>The Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR) contains a number of domestic and foreign crude oils. For the most part, these are of light gravity (30 to 40° API) and contain less than 2.0 mass percent total sulfur. These crude oils are not segregated in storage but are commingled according to their sulfur content into two categories - one sweet and the other sour. For the purposes of the SPR, sweet crude oils are defined as containing a maximum of 0.50 mass percent total sulfur, while sour crude oils can contain up to a maximum of 1.99 mass percent total sulfur. Only similar quality crude oils are commingled in storage, with no mixing of sweet and sour streams being practiced.

The Government didn't "mass execute protestors". They shot a bunch of Mossad-led Kurds in some outlying towns and the total number of deaths got Jewed up from a couple thousand to six million.
The war was started by the United States murdering their religious leaders and bombing a girl's school, the actual Iranians (as opposed to the Kurds and Israeli plants) are never going to capitulate.
Did 9/11 make YOU surrender?
>>
>>62653080
Silver and gold are outliers since they are considered stores of value. I'm talking more about oil and agriculture since those prices are generally low but spike during crisises.
Like when(if) the oil crisis ends, the price will go down to low 30s again, anyone caught above 80 will likely baghold for a long time because who knows when the next crisis shows up.

I tweaked my portfolio again. I've been working on this portfolio for over a year. I've spent over 1000 hours working on it and researching. I know the exact weights of every one of the thousands of individual tickers inside the combined funds. Any overlap is deliberate and precisely tweaked.

If anyone wants to copy it, here it is. It uses a 3 layer barbell strategy, with every barball having its own barbell within it. And it has a momentum and concentrated accelerator satelites, and an AI tilt.

Hedge budget is 25% of the portfolio, but because they're all leveraged the effective exposure of hedges is 37%. Exposure of the hedges can easily reach 40%. It's just not there right now.

Effective exposure of equities is 85%,whilst equity budget is 75%

SGRT 3 / SPMO 5 / CHAT 10 / IGM 7 / IUSG 3
FDL 6 / PWV 9
JQUA 5 / FMTM 5 / QFF 2
FNDF 9 / FNDE 2 / DXJ 3
VIS 2 / KWH 2 / SDCI 1.5 / NANR (or GNR) 1
YGLD 6
TYA 3.5
KMLM 5 / CTAP 2.5 / MATE 2 / WTLS 3 / RSSY 2.5

For reference, the CAGR of my portfolio is 13% and volatility is 13%. To compare it to QQQ, QQQ is 13% CAGR with a volatility of 20%. But the backtests for this portfolio aren't amazing because I didn't design it off backtesting. I designed it using robustness testing, stress testing, monte carlo analysis, regime analysis, and out of samiple validation, and dozens of other tests. not historical backtests. It doesn't have a backtest bias. So it's not optimised for backtesting at all.

This portfolio is a smooth upward grind. I'll probably tweak it again in the future, though. So if you want to keep up with updates for my portfolio in the archive search for 'tweaked portfolio'.

I've got a tactical nuclear truth to drop. If you're looking for someone to blame for the Iran war you can start with Obama (his terrible nuclear deal basically allowed Iran to enrich and build a bomb after he got out of office), or you can look at how the Biden administration pulled the troops out of Afghanistan, and his non support for Israel after the October 7th tragedy boss.

His whole thesis is dumb because he listens to dumb thirdies. If US refiners are running at 98% then that means any excess crude that gets produced would end up in the SPR since the SPR is specifically for non-processed crude.
Either we're refinery bottlenecked which gives time to fill the SPR or we're crude bottlenecked which means the refineries have always been running at or near capacity and this isn't new.
This just feels like commodities markets being commodities markets which is why I don't touch them a hundred foot pole.

Just do 50% QQQ, 25% SPMO

25% stacked hedges like NTSX, RSST or something

It would perform pretty well. And that's boiling it all down to 3 funds.

>USDA estimates fine

Apparently you did not see my post ITLT about corn estimates being revised up by millions, with economists/traders/farmers overwhelmingly revolting on this account (close to 75%), and the USDA not even attempting to offer an explanation.

Now they have launch an "AI modeling program" this week ex post facto to try and make it even faker and gayer.

>Corn loves heat!

Not at night, where corn then has to waste its sugars on respirating.

This results in phimosis acorn-dick corn.

It was 80F last night in Iowa.

If bussy had simply read the book (which is about just this circumstance for about half the book, grain prices during a war/shortage) he would know that what he is doing is extremely harmful.

Bussy actually based his Oil shorts on a young J M Keynes shorting of the grain futures durring WWI when the Gallipoli was closed.

That failed then, it failed when Nixon did it, it failed on oil, and now he's literally trying it on grain.

If he simply trusted in capitalism instead of communism, we would be winning bigly and beat Iran in short order.

Because we aren't capitalist baggysama, we have loads of dispicable protectionist policys and corprotism and M&A monopolism.

The majority of the book is about fighting this in favor of competition.

We are much more like China, and donsama has a Chinaboo fetish and thinks the secret sauce is emulating them.

If we just embraced competition insted of handing out tax breaks and incentives and ramping up stuff like obamacare reporting which is corpo-protection in disguise, we would easily rug the chinese.

The current policy is doomed.
We cannot be chinese, our dicks are too big boss.

The SPR stores crude oil. I wasn't referring to diesel fuel.

Obviously, there are types of crude oil that can be used to refill the SPR. The question was how specifically Venezuelan oil would be used to refill the SPR, as Trump said it would.

Isn't Canadian oil also too heavy and too sour?

mean reversion works in any market if you follow enough tickers. something is always getting fudded every single day and being oversold

PCG was free money today from some Cali law about wildfires. I just bagged 5% and dipped out. Yesterday it was META chart still schizoing over the lawsuit and bots fighting +5/-5% retard candles. pretty much every day I can find a faggy overreaction on a chart somewhere that bots are glitching out on

a Japanese trader BNF traded a $10,000 account to $200 million just doing mean reversion on shit that oversold

Yesterday some anon said we would lose %1 everyday for the next 6 months. Sadly I let that fud get to me and sold off my entire position. At the time it made sense (it still does). The market shouldn’t be green today, it should be red. With everything going on and the loss of trust this country has incurred thanks to the Trump president I believed that this was the death knell. I made a terrible mistake because I underestimated just how corrupt and sick this system is. Bye forever (I mean it, it’s over for me).
>>
>>62653316
I mean there's still a ton of luck involved you're always risking long downturns or rallies
you're still gambling on the shortness of the mean reversion which isn't guaranteed and one outlier doesn't a strategy make
if you invest on 3-5 year horizons with ample cash and a margin account sure you might beat SPY by single digits but expecting triple digit returns purely from mean reversion is a farce

So, in other words, Venezuelan crude oil would *not* be used to refill the SPR?

Also, aren't the US Gulf Coast refineries that are equipped to process super sour super heavy crude already running close to capacity on current Canadian and Venezuelan oil? Those refineries historically used to process more Venezuelan crude than they do now, but much of that has already been replaced by Canadian crude instead. Hence why the US is currently only importing about half of Venezuela's crude exports, and the rest goes as far away as India in search of refineries that can process it. You might argue it all still ends up being fungible in the end, but that just further highlights the meaninglessness of talking about using specifically Venezuelan crude to refill the SPR, especially if Venezuelan crude is one of the specific types of crude that can't be used.

EVs still catch fire but they get safer over time as the technology improves. Especially the mass adoption of LFP batteries in China has made Chinese EVs safer. So I don't think the fire risk is going to hold back EVs much.

I think the main bottleneck is going to be power grid upgrades and charging stations, especially fast charging stations that place a lot of demand on the local power grid. NIO essentially bet that this would be a major bottleneck which would make battery swapping more attractive since it places less demands on the local grid, but it seems the grid bottleneck won't actually be that much of a bottleneck, at least not in important markets such as China.

That's pretty much it. American pensions ARE the stocks market. Japanese, Chinese and Europeans pensions are not tied to the stocks market, therefore the population doesn't give a single fuck about stocks. Barely anyone posses stocks over there, why would they when their life doesn't depend on it. Housing on the other hand? Oh boy.

giving this some thought, battery swapping could be attractive as if batteries become better over time, new more efficient, more powerful batties are available, you could just swap it with your car.
>>62653425
>Does that seem like a good bet, given the advances in fast charging?
good point what if fast charging takes as long as swapping your battery?
but as of yet whats the average lifecycle of a car battery? 20k kilometers? 50k kilometers? 100k kilometers?
if the NIO Fleet on the road is big enough this easy battery swap system could pay out but yea, just some random thoughts
Another thought is, as battery become better, could hold more energy, which means it might take longer to charge them? so swapping might become viable again?

Couldn't you just fast charge the battery in normal operation and swap the battery on the rare occasion that you want to upgrade the battery? It wouldn't generate much demand for swapping stations if people did that

Isn't "range anxiety" really just the combined anxiety about charger availability and charging time? Range anxiety wouldn't be much of a problem if you could charge anywhere and charging takes only a few minutes, especially since many people only have range anxiety due to a few outlier occasions when they need to travel a long distance

>If yields go higher USA will go bankrupt.
Want to know something interesting? Back when we used pensions and didn't invent the demon which is the 401k, 85% of Americans were on pensions.

These companies would heavily invest in long term bonds to fund the pensions. And that liquidity was vital to the credit system in America. Well now part of the reason long term bonds are as high as they are is because pensions just don't exist. And they don't have anyone else that has the stomach for giving Uncle Sam money for 30 years.

I was asking for an approximate time since for all I know you spend even more time assessing stuff than I do. Anyway, my research is nothing special, I just look at what the people in charge are trying to accomplish and try to prove to myself why they could succeed or why they could fail. 8+ hours just deliberating a few lowcap assets/ones that I could see as having a lot of room for growth, then going at it with a fresh mind again another day. It was almost like putting these projects through their own rounds of interviews.

I sometimes take a coinflip approach too but only because my way since day 1 was diversifying, so I had ultra-safe stuff that would at least perform long-term, in addition to high risk/reward and on-a-whim picks. Sometimes I'd lose the $100 sometimes it'd become $1000.

Yes. But the miners didn’t fall that hard. And rose even harder on a mild recovery. Seeing stronger patterns of higher highs and higher lows relative to the metals themselves.

To me. It looks like if we get back to the momentary peaks of 5500 gold and 120 silver by let’s guess, January. Then the miners won’t be back to the same levels. They will be maybe 30% higher again.

And that’s assuming you don’t swing trade and dips successfully.

Thinking about how at the start of the year I made a big bet on tourism over the summer with the expectation that the World Cup and a hot summer along with people being willing to spend would lead to a boom.

I lost so much money. And I kept my position for over a week telling myself that it would all blow over.

>If yields go higher USA will go bankrupt.

Yields aren't high relative to the pre-2000s. The problem is that nobody is serious about getting the deficit under control much less any sort of consensus emerging to make a deal possible.

>>62653651

It's not over for miners.

You'll be lucky if we get another dip next week or two. Miners are saying the bottom is already in for metals this year and we're going higher over the next few months.
