Sounds like the new government in brazil means business. Theres a chance they make real improvements. One thing about latins they are hot tempered and thats needed.

The brazil economy isn't bad and is growing even under the commies, so marginal improvements in earnings plus rerating P/Es higher could mean big gains

As of today brazil has one of the fastest growing economies with the lowest P/E ratios, half that of shitholes like U/K

newgod here that's been lurking for a year or so, I still don't get a single thing about the stock market :)

what are good resources to read/watch to understand how to understand the market and make safe investments? (almost) every financetuber is an idiot that sells a product. where do institutional investors (I assume the highest order of traders) get their knowledge or material from?

like last thread some post ID's were saying to buy bepis (since the earnings report is thursday) but how CAN you KNOW that it would be a good investment?
is there a strategy in doing some reasearch a week or two before an earnings report, put something in and after a month take it out?

I have a work from home job so I could easily spend time doing research or keeping an eye on the news and watch potential big moves, but I don't know where to start... day trading is not my priority although I get most of you are into that

The closest to this would be arbitrage pricing theory, but markets are efficient enough that you (very likely) can't participate, at least not in liquid markets.

Moving a layer up, there's something called 'statistical arbitrage', where you're betting on something more abstract: that a relationship between one or more assets/instruments will continue to exhibit the characteristics they have historically, like e.g Pepsi and Coke moving together.

Building on this, people develop models like 'value investing', or more generally 'factor models' in which they believe certain factors represent a valuation model that the market will converge to, and these factor weights may be constantly changing as a sort of moving target. Common factors include things like momentum or book-to-market ratio, and factors can be combined in all sorts of different ways.

Then I think on top of all this, there's the idea that any of this can be placed inside a dynamic allocation framework that solves for the current optimal portfolio exposure across all the models you're trading, just pure statistics. That's on the more quantitative side of things anyway. If you're sufficiently discerning, you can just 'go with your gut'.
>>
>>62759043
Don't listen to anybody trying to tell you to time the market. Get into the market asap. Time in the market beats timing the market every time, and buying at ATHs works perfectly fine with a buy and hold strategy (see>>62758955).
>>
>>62759037
Forgot pic. Something like this is probably a good introduction to what you're looking for. The same authors also have a 'Quantitative Momentum' book, which is a good intro to factor investing.

you always have to think through the narratives though for individual companies and see if anything has changed... for Pepsi its
