That peanut butter and jelly themed screenshot used fonts 'Archivo' and 'Jetbrains Mono'. And yeah it does look similar to cryptowatch, picrel is the Halloween theme which looks closer. It's basically just a tiling window manager where each window can host a widget, and layouts can be saved as workspaces. I'm going to add candlestick charts and order book stuff later today probably. Right now I have a workspace for monitoring active accounts, another for monitoring system processes, and then another for market stuff.

I would say it really comes down to where you are in life. If you're an oldfag approaching SS claiming age, you really don't want to deal with market volatility, even if you're just buying VOO and bonds could be a better option.
Conversely, if you're a youngfag, you can weather the market going schizo in order to focus on long term asset gains, even if actual realized income is much lower, as the S&P has shown some retard strength.
It all really depends if your life demands stability or not.

I took all the fun out of it, and treated it like a job. Logged time played, cash won/lost, Made about $88 per hour for a few years, but I saw the bad side of the game. Took some loser for about $1,200 in a 5/2 game, got up to eat at the little cafe they had inside the poker room. Overhear the guy on the phone bitching about how he just lost and he's not going to be able to make his rent payment. Made me sick realizing these are the kinds of people I need to be spending the majority of my time with if I'm going to make it at this game. Threw away my plate of food, grabbed my chips and left. That was like the exact moment where I started playing less, Eventually stopped playing all together. My favorite games were shit like badugi or mixed games like Horse. I've thought about getting back into it and playing tournaments, but that was like 2 years ago I started getting the itch, never went ahead and scratched it.

How do you cope with the thoughts that no matter how fast it goes up, it's never going to be enough because everything is going up at the same pace?
The years are passing by too quick
The snowball just isn't big or fast enough
The inflation is just a bit too much
Anytime there's a feeling like you're finally making progress, societal standards and the price of everything jumps up again and you're just as far away from any target as you were a year ago

It feels like running after a goalpost that's moving the same speed as you.

Eh you're better off. Its a depressing grind. I would have a routine where I knew people at the poker rooms and would get the occasional tap to play the bigger games and you see some depressing ass people doing tragic shit with money they dont have. One that sticks out is a mexican guy who I had boat over boat that wanted to call a river jam for like ~$400 but he tanked for about 5 mins and just kept staring at his hand, then his stack and then his hand, then his stack, but never me or the board or anything. He reluctantly folded face up and I showed the better full house and he went pale. A few hands later he said something to the effect of
>if I miss another child support payment, they're throwing me in county
meaning, he was playing with that AND rent and couldnt afford to lose both in an iffy spot. I try to only play in AC with people I know or Vegas where its easier to take other peoples money. You're better off staying away or just watching HCL and playing microstakes online, boss.

you are competing with normies that have $500 in their checking account and $50,000 of credit card debt and a $400,000 mortgage they make minimum payments on. as long as you make more than 10% a year you are getting ahead don't let the turbo virgins here convince you that you need to yolo calls

The game's insane. I lost about $4,500 one hand playing 5/10, had a complete read on the entire situation. It was like 15 years ago, but I'm under the gun with queens, make it $75, loose dude in middle position playing everything position calls along, pro in the small blind makes it 200, I put him on aces or kings right away, middle position dude could have anything, but he's definitely going to call, so with the queens, I know I'm behind, but willing to see the flop since it's gonna be 3 way and I got position on the guy im scared of. Flop comes Ace, Queen Jack, the QJ are clubs. Pro checks it to me. I'm like he's on kings because you aren't slow playing top set there. I make it $500 into the $600 pot with middle set. Loose dude calls, pro folds, so next card is a jack, I move all in because it's like fuck it, there's $1,600 right there, I'll take that now, there's no way this guy's got jacks or aces, he actually calls, turns over Ace 8 off suit, pairs his ace on the river for Aces full of Jacks, I'm still pissed because I wouldn't play it any different given the same circumstances.

Look up their policy for cash settled indexes like SPX and XSP. I had the same issue with Alpaca when trading SPY/QQQ, which aren't cash settled, but since they introduced SPX and XSP I'm able to hold those into the close. I couldn't find the exact page but Google's AI was helpful.

> I'm still pissed because I wouldn't play it any different given the same circumstances.
Many such cases, it happens. You played it right, the pro would have slow played a flopped straight, the rando loose would have called down a shove thinking a pair would carry. Damn river, but I think in that situation a turn shove effectively iso'd, but just the wrong person. Shits gnarly, but you live and learn. Or not. I still get too sticky with premiums. Nothing worse than being on my way out of town, playing til the ride shows up and a darling old lady cracks a set of jacks with a set of flopped aces and milks you to the river.
>>62762363
JJ more than QQ, but agreed. I get the worst action set mining anyway, but I still do it cause why not. Especially low pairs, instead of premiums. Easier to let go on a wet/connected flop.

Inflation doesn't prevent prices from falling. Stocks fell in 1973-74 (inflation near 11%, S&P down about 48% peak to trough) and in 2022 (inflation at 40-year highs, S&P down about 25%, Nasdaq about 33%). Rising inflation usually means rising rates, which compress valuations. Stocks are a partial inflation hedge over long horizons, not a floor under any given year.

the out of position reraise is sus, but if he was loose it could have been ducks or like something he planned to get called with an evaluate on the flop. I dont think many people at 5/10 play AA that weak hoping for a rereraise/jam, but then again idk this dude seems crazy playing the dead mans hand into a paired board with only top pair. like you said, well played if he got you with AA, but A8 is brutal.

They're decent hands, but they do very poorly in multi-way pots. Jacks and Tens should be looked at as drawing hands if your going to flop with 3 or more people (self included). Then even if you got the overpair, you got the suited connector guy who hit his two pair or flopped a straight and flush draw, or you got someone with a higher over pair. Both situations with two cards to come you're actually the underdog.

JJ is a great heads-up hand or whatever but if there are 8 people at the table its going to just gape your ass as you confidently raise preflop trying to scare some people off and then 4 niggers call with random shit and hit a flush/straight/trips/2pair whatever and delete your stack

There's a few guards like that on various levels, yeah, I'd just just like to see them tested or at least see it face more adversity before putting more in. Right now it has a daily loss limit of $200. As long as I can get it controllable from my phone with push alerts I'd feel pretty comfortable adding more given I already paper traded for a couple weeks.

But you never, programming is tricky so I'd prefer to vet things first hand. There are so many opportunities for discrepancies and bugs to appear, even if the paper trading looks good it doesn't mean the live trader will behave the same.

I personally don't think there's anything wrong with a VOO DCA. However, the one thing you absolutely shouldn't do is buy in all at once. I would sit down with a spreadsheet and figure out what your windfall total divided by 52 is and that gives you at least an idea of what you could be buying in on a weekly basis. Or maybe 26 if you wanted to do twice a month over a year. Not exactly a prescription, but you want to be able to napkin math things like that to get a concept.

german bonds are doing better than any bonds in europe except perhaps the nordic countries.
this propaganda is laughable, because in the real world germany still rules europe and is not stopping. Best bonds in europe excluding the nordics

but index's usually trade a range for months and months of crabbing before they gap up higher. they nigger gapped up twice this year and aping your grandmas inheritance money right now with the state of geopolitics and diesel and war and tech debt and 10000 other real world problems everyone ignores is just fucking cringe.

you will get a better entry
