So much so that the US blew up a pipeline and blamed it on Russia just to make the gas price spike in a foreign country so they couldn't be energy independent. Gas as in oil is due to prices at the pump not reflecting real-world values, those are manipulated too. Higher gas prices at the pump means more profit for oil companies which means energy stocks pump. This is why I stay out of energy markets.
