Reddit's Renaissance fair board deleted me, so here I am.My friend and I are planning to go to our first Renaissance fair this month in Texas. We want to dress up for it, but I'm at a loss. This being our first event I don't want to go full force and $100+ on a single tunic, but the $50 complete "costume" on Amazon worries me.My friend is big (6ft. 3xl), and I use a cane and have an eye patch; both guys. I second this post >>10961911I think the secret to a good ren faire costume is to build slowly. Buy or make one or two quality items each year until you have a great costume. For a pirate, start with a hat. Then add a coat. Then breeches and boots... and so on. That said, I totally think you should be a wizard. Get a robe and a staff. If you go next year, add a beard and a medallion.
