Idk if this is the right thread, but seems appropriate.
I'm making a Shadow the Hedgehog costume, using some stuff I already have. I've made a prototype of his Jet Boots with EVA foam, and I'm wondering what I should use to attach it to the shoe. Ideally, I don't want to bond/melt the rubber and foam together. I want to take it off and use the shoes for a Marty McFly costume in the future, as they're near identical to his

Velcro. unironically. legitimate 3M Velcro™ and not any old hook-and-loop fastener.

When I was in the military people insisted on velcroing everything to everything, and every time I got tasked with removing velcro from something, it would take a piece of equipment with it. I have some old patches and when I put them on a jacket and tried to take them off, the patch took the fuzzy velcro side of my jacket with it, and it was a good jacket. It didn't remove the backing of the fuzzy velcro though. It just took the fuzz. That real actual name-brand Velcro velcro is structural.
