I want to be a skyscraper for Halloween. The goal is to take up as much floor space as possible while still being able to walk through doors, so I want my costume to take up about 1m*1m*whatever height around me. And of course if I'm in a crowd I want the costume to not get smushed. So what I'm thinking is a rigid rectangular prism frame of some sturdy material (black in the image) with fabric stretched around it. Then if I have time, a 3d printed version of a skyscraper's crown.

My biggest question is how to do the frame. I was initially thinking PVC with 3 way connectors at the corners. But it turns out that stuff is more expensive than I thought, so now I'm considering wooden dowels. But there's no convenient 3 way corner connectors for dowels as far as I've seen. Maybe I'd 3d print that.

But I figured there's a good chance I'm overlooking something obvious, and I'd better ask the experts. You guys have any ideas?
