I don't get the conflation of weebism and piercings/tats. The latter have permeated every segment of society, including a vast horde of normies who care nothing for anime. OTH, anime/weeb-nerdom may have been normalized as a hobby but it's never hit majority status in any demographic.I don't see the overlap.
