With Tiktok and Reddit cooking every newbie's ability to do the most basic of research on J-Fashion, what are your go-to ways of telling them to fuck off and do a simple Google search (Preferably without getting banned) or to simply avoid these questions in the first place? Personally I've started rigourously filtering comments for questions like "where to buy" and set my profile to 18+ because let's face it, most of the little rats who keep expecting us to coddle them are minors. Also what questions piss you off the most?
any along the lines of these:“Im (insert ethnicity/race that isnt Japanese or Asian) am I allowed to wear (insert J-fashion style)?”“Am I Asian fishing if I—” “I wanna wear (insert J-Fashion style) sooo bad, but I don’t wanna get bullied”“Where can I get lolita thats cheap and preferably not online?” “Is (obvious shady website that is notoriously known for being shady) a good website to buy from?” Any beginner question about Lolita pisses me off especially because there’s like two decades worth of websites, magazines, tumblr pages, blogs, threads, etc that could quickly answer the question yet they're too lazy to go seek out these sources. Another thing that peeves me is when someone will make a post asking “How do I combine these two J-fashion styles?” Like idk?? Go to your closet, try on outfits and figure it out like the rest of us.
ppl who overthink about coording and ask questions like "how can i wear (coord combo that has been done multiple times to a few times in magazines)??? it wont feel like lolita!!!!!"it shows they dont really look at street snaps or actual references a good example is in blouseless coord discourse because they are not hard to pull off and people who tend to freak out just overthink it too much n overcomplicate lolita"is this lolita???" to the most non lolita coord you lay your eyes upon, she could be wearing a jirai kei coord and still try and pass it off as lolita, just because there is a skirt and socks does not mean it is lolita, there is more to it than that i think. "where can i get (piece that has never been rereleased/old oldschool item/controversial) for cheap?" maybe in your dreams, people need to lower their expectationsthis isnt a question persay but i see so many accounts repost lolita snaps and magazine related images, pieces ect, non lolitas and faceless pieceless lolitas alike and it frustrates me, they dont care about actually wearing it, they just want to repost and move on, they see cute girl cute fashion and get their dopamine hit , empty people.
