Was it something I said?
Is silver from deadlock a good or bad choice for my first cosplay and crossplay
>>10968070Good choice. Simple costume- jacket, tee, jeans, boots, belt, collar, handcuffs, glove. Easy wig to find. Simple modification to the boots, adding some extra fluffy fur. Simple tail (if you want it, costume could work without and you won't be sitting on it all day).Over score as a starting costume: 9.5/10
hi, i'm a 22yo newbiei'd like to crossplay as some blonde characters (i'm pale, blue eyes and blonde, i think i pass because i was mistaken as a woman at first glance at times), but I made the stupidest mistake of cutting my hair some months ago. i'm growing my hair and i expect it to be long enough in a year or so. i'm new to the scene, so i want to learn the necessary stuff in the meantime before i go to my first con (by close to 23 i guess).Am i too old? i don't really know what's the average age in crossplay.
>>10968115Yes, by 22 most people have grown out of wanting to dress like cartoon charactersThe cosplay age range is 13-18, and also you have to be pretty, thin and asian
>>10968070>GoodIt's pretty straightforward. Crossplayers in my experience don't go out of the gates showing much skin, so you're covered (haha) there too>Could be good, could be not so goodDepends on your experience with makeup and wig styling or knowing someone who'll do it for you>>10968115No need to sweat it too much, fren. Age isn't something people worry too much about and I'd guess you're right about average anyway, maybe even lower. One thing you could definitely stand to learn before going in, though: there's a shortlist of characters that signal you're an Anon, and Bridget is near the very top>>10968117Haha! Wonderfully memed! (I upvoted :-) )
>>10968115Myself Im past 30 and most crossplayers I know are my age or very close to my age. You will do fine with your age
softmary anon from last thread here. i’m not sure if it’s due to how i handled them or if it’s because the material was cheap, but they ripped at the arm-boob area. i suspect it was because of the way i was putting them on more, but i guess that’s what happens when you buy from amazon. they were too small for my build anyway. i was luckily able to get a full refund. i’m thinking maybe i size up with a plus size with a different brand, but i also don’t want it to become a whole cycle.
I don't know where to ask, so i ask here.I want to make cosplay of Toga like on this image, but I can't find longsleeve like this.Any ideas, where I can find and buy it?
>>10968125thanks for the (You)!>Age isn't something people worry too much about and I'd guess you're right about average anyway, maybe even lower.oh thanks, that's reassuring.>there's a shortlist of characters that signal you're an Anon (i guess you mean 4chan user?)i mean, isn't that the truth? it's fine, maybe even funny. i had a couple more similar character in mind too>>10968129ok, that's reassuring as well. maybe i was stressing it too much.
>>10968115Please, crossplay or not, use a wig. Humans don't have the hair density to do anime characters. With a wig you can closely match the colour and hairstyle without being limited by your hair.
What do I need to know as a tall guy (6'5") crossplaying? Aside from the fact that I'll stand out no matter what, I don't really know how to find clothes in my size, or how to minimize things to pass better.
>>10968341don't have body hair and ESPECIALLY don't have facial hairdon't be fatdon't halfass anything follow those rules and you can live your crossplay dreams
>>10968341
>>10968143>i mean, isn't that the truth? it's fine, maybe even funnyOf course. It's more that you're not confused if some dude materializes and lays it on thick with the memespeak while not explaining himself, any other "anon type" behaviour>i had a couple more similar character in mind tooWho else if ya don't mind me asking>>10968345>don't halfass anythingOn this note...>>10968341Be ready to get your fits custom. You're already fighting against a tide of>Asian sizes>Female sizes>Measurement charts that don't reflect the actual clothesBut it can (and should) be done
If I wanted to cosplay Astolfo but didn't want my parents to know how would I go about it? I still live with them and wouldn't want them to find me out. I'm very hygiene sensitive ( especially at cons ) and shower beforehand and wouldn't want to use a public bathroom.
>>10968446change in a hotel room beforehand, maybe? unless your parents are particularly snoopy, you can probably hide a costume somewhere. not sure about practicing makeup though
>>10968454I don't really want to rent a hotel just because I mainly go to AnimeNYC and live a short train ride away from the con so it's not worth it for me to buy a hotel just to change costumes. Maybe wear my cosplay underneath my clothes?
I'm going to crossdress out in public with a friend for the first time ever tomorrow and while I'm excited I'm also I'm super scared. What do?
>>10968458>What do?Crossdress
I need specifically:white panties with a small red ribbon at the top of the front. where are some good places to search, because i don't want to quality to be ass. also they'll be under pantyhose
>>10968446>>10968456Gotta be real here, you're trying to have your cake and eat it too. One of the only foolproof options left is changing beforehand and going with a friend. Could try the inverse. Skirt over pants, remove them from underneath but that's only half. If neither of these work, best just accept the inevitable wrinkles
>>10968481I might just bite the bullet and do it in my home. My parents have seen me cosplay 9S before so it's not too different ( at least in their eyes ) but if not I'll think of someone else
>>10968446According to the map: https://javitscenter.com/plan/floor-plans/ the Javits Center has family restrooms (read single occupant gender neutral) on levels 3 & above. I know you said you didn't want to use a public restroom, but those would be fairly private.
>>10968517Thanks for letting me know! I might do this or just bite the bullet and let my parents see. I'll have a car by August so getting to the train would be easy. Not 100% sure if I'm going to do Astolfo or not but I'll think about it
how do I find friends into crossdressing? I really need to learn how to do makeup...
>>10968129I was worried about only being brave enough to start at 28, so it's good to know it's not a lost cause. Still wish I hadn't missed out when I was younger though
>>10968592I'm near Atlanta btw
>>10968595why is that anon, what would have different if you started younger
>>10968619Better bodytype, mostly. I'm not fat, but the weight I put on after college only makes me look more masculine.
Where do u buy your outfits and especially cute shoes :3
Sorry for the dumb question but do wigs get shipped in packaging that you can’t see what it is typically. I just don’t want my family to see it in the mail
>>10968881for me, the cheap ones have always shipped inside clear zip lock bags, which are contained within the usual opaque black plastic bag or cardboard brown postal packaging
>>10968883Thank you I ordered from Amazon with a cosplay so figured it would probably come in a normal brown box but wasn’t sure if they had some special packaging
>>10968887usually cosplays come in an opaque bag, but I don't have experience ordering off Amazon personally
