>Fugazzeta is a mozzarella-stuffed pizza topped with onions, originating from Argentina. The onions should be thinly sliced, and they can be either raw or sautéed. The dough is usually made with milk, water, yeast, flour, sugar, salt, and olive oil.
What if you put cheese on top of the pizza but also INSIDE the pizza, clever huh

Europe has kebab pizzas and other weird sandnigger influenced toppings. Never felt the need to try them and I know to stay clear of said pizzerias if they have this on their menu
French fries is another thing that is very common. Again, never felt the need to try it.

yeah, we don't have any signature stuff like sweden or brasil. when you go to a pizzeria you get the standard traditional compositions. if it's a turkish joint, then you can get döner pizza. if its run greek, then you can have gyros pizza (it's the same, just the meat is pork).
nothing special to report here

You obviously are guessing at what it tastes like...fugezetta never ever has bacon, just no tomato sauce, and lots of cheese and very thin onions and a sprinkle of oregano. It it not always two layers, sometimes just one layer, but it's delicious buttery cheese.
I hope you get to try it one day.

In Washington you'll routinely see some sort of pizza with apples, balsamic, and either blue cheese or goat cheese on a garlic butter base, it's pretty good in the summer. I've also seen asparagus pizza at a couple of places in springtime
Photo ripped from a local pizza place, has bacon on it as well
>>
>>21559926
What sucks about the US is that it's almost impossible to find pork gyros here because all "mediterranean" places are halal
>>
>>21562822
that's grim.
I can buy frozen pork gyros meat in the local grocery store. if I want to be served by a greek restaurant, I have to drive 30min. döner kebap is 5min.
>>
>>21562430
>and lots of cheese and very thin onions and a sprinkle of oregano.
thanks for the clarification. now I got another picture in my head. more like a succulent bread with cheese and nice flavour enhancers. would really like to try it. do people sometimes ketchup on it?
if you have the chance, try out zwiebelkuchen. as i wrote, the main thing are the onions. it's great with wine.
>>
>>21562407
there are similarities. the cream used is the same. but it's sparsely used, as the main thing is onions (i have to admit, that the only quiche i know is a convenience product from a super market). we don't use puff pastry but short pastry.
>>
>>21562942
>more like a succulent bread with cheese and nice flavour enhancers.
Yup that's pretty much it. It uses focaccia bread instead of regular pizza dough, and lots of high quality cheese (which is the main star of the show, if the cheese is not high quality then it sucks).

Basically it's a style of pizza that evolved from focaccia, someone had the idea of put cheese and onion toppings on pic related, creating the fugazza, and then someone else had the idea of stuffing cheese in the middle of the dough as well creating the fugazzeta. Italians probably consider the whole thing an aberration kek but it's delicious.

>do people sometimes ketchup on it?
No, the whole point is to taste the cheese and the dough which is also special as described, but I've seen it with ham and tomato sauce occassionally.

>zwiebelkuchen
I'm gonna look for this around, we have some German-style bakeries (like Hausbrot) that may sell it. Or just try cooking it myself, sounds great.

let me just say that the best cheese pie i ever had came from staten island in the seventies, Formaggio al Forno! i remember that being the first place where i was dipping my pizza crust in little ranch cups, they had very good buttery crust. they closed down years ago, way before the pandemic, but god bless ronnie and ken for running it all those years after their mama retired

we do that in scandinavia as well. now i think of it i have never been to a country that doesnt serve a breakfeast pizza. sometimes with ham, sometimes with bacon. now if you go over to sweden for example, you will see culinary abominations your mind can not comprehend. banana, curry, pineapple and ham pizza is just the tip of the iceberg. they are just as insane as their immigration policy.
>>
In Cincinnati we spread greek inspired meat sauce "chili" on the dough with sharp cheddar, topped with hot dogs thinly sliced on a bias, diced white onions, and a light drizzle of mustard and vinegar based cayenne hot sauce.
>>
>>21556952
In Russia it's common to drizzle mayonnaise over cheese before baking the pizza or to use mayo instead of tomato sauce (though this mostly applies to bakeries rather than specialised pizza places)

Ok I have to come clean, I just made that up because it sounded like a good idea.
Our actual regional pizza is the shameful Skyrosa. A thin pizza with a sweet tomato sauce and a lot of herbs with a chili dog on top.

It's scran for the ballpark designed to be obnoxiously Cincinnatian.

it's scrambled egg and bacon or pork sausage under the cheese, i cant remember if it has a sauce base or is just on bread. gas station pizza tends to have a more tender crust so either way its not dry, it is pretty good and perfect for midwesterners who are perpetually either drunk or still drunk but on their way to work some labor job
>>
>>21570754
a thing a like about it is the top gets soft n moist saturated from the tomato juices sipping in during baking, while the edges and bottom gets crispy.
