suggestions for foods to make that only need hot water?
have to do some travel to some not great places for work, and the last few times i went i had the not great experiences with shitting my guts out after eating the local food so i'm planning on bringing all my food this time
only cooking implements in the hotel is a hot water dispenser and a really shitty hair dryer that i wouldn't count on for actually cooking anything
specifically there is no microwave
my plan so far is just instant oatmeal, instant grits, crackers, deenz, tuna packets, peanut butter, nuts, and dried fruit
thanks anons

Steak tartare
Actually cooking something? You can't cook meat with the hot water dispenser but you could eat like a hotdog for meat or just cold cuts

didn't think of mashed potatoes, that's a good one
ramen i think is too bulky

don't really trust the meat products here
i could probably bring some spam or vienna sausages in my luggage though

Shredded dried potatoes for hash browns

Instant soup can be pretty good. Kikkoman makes a few different varieties of instant miso soup.

You will laugh but when I was out of college, I had to travel for my new job a lot and I bought a smaller version of the George Foreman grill. I swear in those 2 years I became a Foreman grill master. I got a huge promotion but I still actually have that grill and when I am home, I make grilled cheeses and roast beefs

i don't really have a way of cooking said hashbrowns unless you mean just rehydrating shredded potatoes

>>21567579
that's a good one too

>>21567602
considered it but i'd need to use one of those power converters and i'm pretty sure using a high voltage appliance on those is a good recipe for starting a fire
if i was travelling domestically i'd absolutely consider it though

What about canned foods
>>
>>21567660
gonna get some instant soups

>>21567744
i'm bringing some deenz
not a whole lot of other canned foods i'd want to eat straight out of the jar though i guess i'd do canned veggies

Anon I highly recommend a pot / mess kit, plastic bags (or sous vide bags if you are fancy), and maybe making a little alcohol stove to help make that hot water go farther.

Eggs if you trust them cook great bagged in hot water. A dehydrated vegetable mix is going to be really important for all your meals. If you can't buy one make some. Drying vegetables in your oven is easy. You can cook and dry spam as well. Get your ass some savory oatmeal. If seasonings are hard to bring, get condiment packets. A1, soy sauce, honey, lemon juice, they are all relatively easy to pack.

Agree on instant mashed potatoes, that plus jarred or instant gravy and canned chicken isn’t too bad

Ramen, oatmeal, mashed potatoes, pasta, tomato paste, rice, beans, sunny side up eggs, pudding. Most dehydrated foods, like gravey, pancakes, evaporated milk. You can cook corn, boil some chicken, you can make a grilled cheese. And some simple spices could add to most of these meals.

Wait, I just read you aren't gonna have a stove? What kinda nightmare world are they sending you too? Oh, well most of these are out but, you can get creative.
>>
>>21568640
i don't think most hotels come with stoves even in non shitty parts of the world
>>
>>21567325
I hope you're bringing your own water to cook with and drink if you don't trust the food.

You can cook eggs by putting them in a mug or pot and covering with hot water from the dispenser. Then just let them sit for 10-20 mins in the hot water. They will be soft boiled but good enough to eat.
>>
Get some MRE’s. They use science to heat them up.
>>
>>21569608
You can also just poach them for instant eggs

Take a solar oven. You can fit it in a suitcase or backpack, they are small-ish and portable. You can cook all sorts of shit in there, you just need a window with sunlight to point it at.

tuna fish. don't forget you can do mayo, mustard, ketchups, as well as salt and pepper.
MREs, beef jerky, it really depends on how long you're there. If it's truly third world you can always just get a pot and make a fire outside for whatever.
