Canola for everything. It's the best in just about all metrics.
>>215734163 of those 4 points have nothing to do with cooking with it because I don't give a shit about crop rotations.>but but but you should-I don't.
>>21573416>high quality, nutrient rich plant protein for livestockThey're not even pretending to hide it
>>21573422What do you want to know? Its healthier for you, it has a higher smoke point than most, it's cheaper, it's more abundant and available, it's neutral tasting so you can use it in anything, it has better non-stick properties than other oils or fats, has more vitamin k, vitamin e, omega 3's than butter, it's a fucking miracle oil. There are very few times when I wouldn't use canola. They are few, but they exist. I know I missed alot of advantages but that's just what popped into my mind. Good enough for me.
I've shelled out for a bottle of fresh pressed EVO flax oil and i swear it's just as nice as a good olive oilI do need to keep it in the fridge and they say for optimal health benifits it has to be used within two weeksSo I used to for everything from frying to salads. The fried food is goldenbrown and delicious like Avocado and Canola cannot, no smoke and I am starting to like the tasteIf you can find some with a pressing date that isn't more than a month or so old use that
>>21573452Oh, thanks for reminding me. Canola has a much longer shelf life than pretty much any other oil such as olive, coconut and doesn't require refrigeration, freezing or special accommodations. Truly a miracle cooking oil.
>>21573416>>21573437Why are you defending literal venom?
>>21573748Why are you insanely crippled by brainwashing and memes? No one cares that your treehouse friends make up bullshit like calling stuff that is FDA cleared and reccomended "venom" and every time you say that you look like an idiot who is trying to sensationalize (aka overhype bullshit) someone. You failed before you even got a response from me. Sad.
>>21572127one with a high smoke point and the flavor that compliments
>>21573748Because the "seed oil bad" studies were done 40 years ago, which were rooted in debunked "oxidant antioxidant" junk science. They were done with seed oil formulations of the 80s. "seed oils" of today look nothing like seed oils of 10 years ago, let alone 40 years ago and lack large amounts of omega-6 anyways.Half of the reason excessive omega-6 was thought to be bad was due to how trans-fat interacted with them in your body anyways. Trans-fat have been banned for almost 20 years now.Canola oil is cheap and tastes shitty. Its used in shitty fast food. That doesnt inherently mean its some poisonous super carcinogen, despite what the clickbaiters are trying to shill.
>>21572127Butter for tasty stuff at non burning temps, had ghee for a while but stopped after running out (i'll make it myself in bulk one day, but that's more for fun and not needed), cheaper olive oil for everyday normal, chicken schmaltz near the end of pan frying for flavour (perhaps before pouring any liquid) since it burns at higher temps like butter, on occasion bacon lard (but I only have a limited amount) when it seems right for the recipe instead of everything else, ideally peanut but usually veggie oil (so rapeseed) an the rare deep fry of corn dogs or chicken.>for topping at the end of cookingextra virgin olive oil (for raw applications too), heavy cream/butter, sesameYeah that's it. Haven't discovered any use for others
>>21572127Tallow, olive oil, or butter.
>>21573773>>21573780>Just ignore the doctors and scientists and trust the big companies that forced and keep forcing the "animal fats bad, processed seed oils good" mindset, bro
>>21573773>>21573780Kys already. Seed oils are trash
>>21572127Whatever I feel like you fucking glownigger
SEED OILS!!!!!!!
Butter for low tempHazelnut oil for higher temps
Anyone have experience with Sunflower oil? Opinions?
>>21573907>Just ignore the doctors and scientistsIts literally the scientists who have concluded seed oils arent the boogeyman that clickbait artists want it to be. Those same "big companies" are the ones selling you seed oil alternatives at 5-10x the price. They stand to gain MORE profit from you buying avocado oil and tallow.>>21573970Whats the saying?Facts dont care about your feelings, mrs emotional snowflake? Its hilarious how people willingly chain themselves to grifting influencers and their identity politics. But hey, Im glad youve found something to hitch yourself to. If seed oils are the scapegoat you need to *feel* good, more power to you.
>>21574260>the scientists who have concluded seed oils arent the boogeyman that clickbait artists want it to be.Post some articles
Regular olive oil. I only ever pan fry or roast; I never deep fry. EVOO I use for a dressing and don't cook with it.
>>21572141They say WD-40 was named, after several attempts, for the quantity of white dicks that finished inside your mother.
If we're talking (plant) oils specifically then coconut is the clear winner. Usually I mix coconut with clarified butter.
>>21574260Always the same shit. Seed oils are bad when heated so you shouldn't be cooking with them. They're also bad refined. They're fine cold non-refined.Fact-checks always fail to mention these important nuances.
>>21575252Well, if we look at it from a science viewpoint EVOO shouldn't be used for cooking. Yet, southern Europeans cook with it anyways and have the lowest amounts of cardiovascular deseases which is linked to the use of EVOO. If I have grass-fed tallow I'll use that for cooking but else i'll take my chances and use evoo. Unless for frying, then tallow > lard > ghee
