>Is sold for years as pistachio chocolate
>Suddenly goes viral on TikTok as "Dubai chocolate"
>Rebrand as "dubai chocolate" with no changes to recipe
>Price is doubled
>>
Im pretty sure you dont have wheat noodles inside average pistachio choccy bars
>>
nah they're different things
dubai choc has pistachio flavoured kunafeh inside
>>
i always see these bad boys marked down from like $26 to $16 because no one buys them. i shoplifted one, theyre pretty good but the quality doesn't nearly warrant the price. you can get some other palm oil slop from kinder or lindt that hits the same for a tenth of the cost
>>
>>21572611
Yeah for anyone who wants to try it wait until November or so, the price is dropping fast now the fad is over, and they got a lot of stock to shift.
>>
>>21572595
It’s actually disgusting. Peak slop marketing
>>
>price is doubled
yeah that must be the ay-rabs fault, because we're in the year 2005 and everyone still thinks dubai is exotic and ultra-luxurious
>>
>>21572595
Yup, the demand was absolutely manufactured by it being trendy on tiktok and other social media.

I haven't fucked with it because there are so many sketchy brands that make it, and there is a good chance of you getting sick with those sketchy brands. I'd probably try it if it got to a more normal price by a brand I could trust.

Honestly if you're curious the best way is to just make it all yourself. My friends GF made him a home made one.

isn't dubai just an overly decorated third-world favela? under the glitz and glamour you have a city full of inbreds, cryptoscammers, dumb tourists and other lowlifes
>>
>>21572652
it's chocolate not party drugs, I don't think you need to worry about that unless you live in a third world country like america
>>
>>21572655
I'd hardly call it "decorated", it's just generic tract housing for miles, with an elongated central business district full of generic high rise office buildings. there are a couple of gee-whiz construction projects like the burj dubai and the artificial islands but that kind of thing stopped being exciting decades ago when every other developing country on earth started doing it. I genuinely do not get why in 2025 people are acting like dubai is like switzerland in the desert, it feels like "common knowledge" from the sex and the city era that's just repeated and repeated the way an LLM repeats forum knowledge that's completely wrong because it's baked into the model now
>>
>>21572595
I hate to admit it broskies, but it is indeed good, it's the most similar thing to a ferrero roche
>>
OMG DID SOMEBODY SAY DUBAI CHOCOLATE??!?!?!??? OH MY HECKIN FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER I FUCKING LOVE DUBAI CHOCOLATE!!! THE MOUTHFEEL AND NUMMY TASTES ARE FUCKING EUPHORIC!!!!!
>>
>>21572595
I thought this was a drug for the longest time. I don't know how I got this idea but the way it was getting memed and the really high price it just made sense. And when you go to these arabic gas stations, the Dubai chocolate and the honey packs are sitting in two stacks right next to the register so you don't steal it. But I could never figure out what kind of drug it was supposed to be. Then eventually learned that it's just a food. That is really fucking weird to me

>babbys first trend

anyone remember how butthurt /ck/ got over the avocado "fad"?

turned out some fast food chain added an avocado item and it was the first time these fat NEETs had ever seen a vegetable other than sliced tomatoes and lettuce that comes on a big mac

>>
>>21572595
and you just now discovered it?
>>
>>21572595
Dubai chocolate sounds like a slightly more euphemistic euphemism than the "usual" one for Instagram "influencers" (Dubai portapotty)
>>
I thought Dubai chocolate was just another euphemism for that Porta-Potty parties thing they do in the UAE, no? You know, when the local emirs and their sons or other male relatives defecate on the faces and breasts of young white and Slavic women?
>>
Wasn't this "trend" manufactrured by Dubai itself in an attempt to give itself "cuisine" or something?
>>
>>21572730
I miss the late 2000s bacon fad where bacon was seen as "random"
>>
>>21572655
under the glitz and glamour theres endless shit. Not kidding they generate an insane amount of sewage that has to be removed with tanker trucks because they have no sewage pipes
>>
>>21572595
This is literally a pay op because "Dubai Chocolate" top search result was Dubai men pooping on women. Royal family spent a few million to get this to take over.
>>
>>21572730
nah, it was because avocado dishes were being spammed in every eatery and shoved into all dishes, besides the fact avocado farming is mostly unethical and the fad increased the demand, making it expensive
>>
>>21572982
a couple of fast food joints != "every eatery", you're fat
>>
>Overpriced "dubai chocolate" on one shelf
>The next shelf over has just the Lindt Pistachio chocolate which is the same thing for half the price and probably better as Lindt makes nice chocolate.
>>
>>21572914
It was manufactured to hide search traffic for the weird scat fetish stuff they make foreign prostitutes do
>>
>>21572982
>besides the fact avocado farming is mostly unethical
this is kekmao material, implying anyone here gives half of a buck about "unethical farming" top kekerinos

Dubai paid a bunch of influencers to asteoturf it to distract from the "other" Dubai brown product.

>>21572982

It was an actual long lasting trend and it did make avocado's needlessly expensive but I know you do not do your own shopping, so you wouldn't know fatso.

just a gay fad. pistachios rebranded.
I like pistachio stuff and its cool that there's more of it out now but the inflated price of it all sucks.

>>21574435
the way they treat them is arguably the only good thing about them.
they dont give them any rights and make them fuck off after they finish their job.

Least obvious industry plant
as others said it's not quite the same as regular pistachio chocolate as it has kunafa in the filling. I did like a homemade variant using dark instead of milk chocolate, cherrypicked pistachio cream that has as much actual pistachio in it as possible, and a bit of tahini. Store bought is too expensive for what it is
The ordeal of chopping up and picking apart the dough shit to fry was a pain in the ass much like the entire process but chocolate is a treat after all, this isn't a meal you make on the regular.
>>21573571
I've tried that and it tastes like straight almond extract and way too sweet. It also had an artificial sickly green color to it.
>>
>>21574168
I wouldn't know what avocados cost in kentucky 20 years ago but I'll take your word for it. they were never an expensive luxury food in california (now seethe because I said california lol)
>>
>>21572611
I saw them for $2/bar last week at Safeway but I didn't bother getting any. My wife didn't notice it and had no idea what I was talking about in the car. She said that if she'd seen them she'd've bought one to try.
At that price, they were probably tiny. I didn't inspect the box display any further than a cursory glance from several feet away so I'm not sure sure if they're normal chocolate bar size or not.
I'm not into fad foods or veblen goods. I've still not had a cronut, mirror cake, avotoast or açai berry
>>
>>21574102
All I saw was these things being on sale because it didn't meet their anticipated demand. Still never bought one
>>
>>21572648
$5k in 1977 is equivalent to $27,600 today.

Sometimes this site blows me away with how out of touch it is. On /fa/ people are still passionately arguing about the "skinny jeans fad" (can you even buy skinny jeans anymore? where?)
>>
>>21572595
Anon, why did you make a marketing thread? You went out of your way because you were marketed to and then made a thread to shill for some corporation somewhere that you don't know the name of. Maybe do what most of us do and ignore the ads? Maybe get off TikTok? Yeah... good luck ... you're not the sharpest tool if ya catch my drift.
>>
>>21574860
Thanks for the bump!
>>
>>21573571
Its wild how they could name this dubai chocolate and triple their price.
>>
>>21574442
TikTok fad after dubai paid a bunch of influencers to shill it so that when people searched "dubai chocolate" actual chocolate would come up rather than the seedy scat stories coming from dubai.
>>
>>21572598
Wheat noodles is definitely more expensive than pistachios and justifies a price increase (as opposed to a price decrease from filling your product with filler)
>>

this site is just millennials and gen x yelling at each other. it's pretty funny how most of the site's users are behind on almost everything. They probably don't even know that current zoomer fashion is basically cloning the late 90s right now.

I'm older than you though, I think it's just a matter of shut-ins resorting to 4chan as a substitute for normie platforms and real life interactions. I should be the old man shaking my fist at clouds but somehow I'm more aware of "trends" despite not even seeking them out.

They kind of pass into your field of view automatically if you just go outside sometimes but going outside is difficult if you're not cut out for it.
>>
I had Dubai chocolate produced by turkish company. It was good. But also i bought for really cheap. Like quarter of the price.
>>
>>21572655
That's like saying that Manhattan is exactly like a third-world favela because there's lots of jewish bankers and tourists except Manhattan actually is a crime-ridden shithole compared to Dubai.
>>
>>21574168
Never heard of this, don't follow Industrialist trends. If anyone wants to try relatively new chocolate try some Aztec Xocolatl. Our chieftain says it gives him a real buzz.
>>
>>21575278
official crime stats in the UAE should not be taken seriously, technocrats in places like that only have jobs if they can make the ruler look competent, they're not actually there to help with policy decisions. it's like america under trump except with more sand
>>
>>21575121
>basically cloning the late 90s right now.
Yeah I'm back in college now and all the 19-20 year old girls dress just like girls used to back in the late 90's. Crop tops are back in fashion again apparently. And all the dudes wear some graphic tee.
>>
