Fuck induction.
>>
>>21572934
Gas>Electric>Glass>>>>Induction.

Induction ruins pans; doesn't heat evenly; doesn't help heat retention while cooking and essentially will make up it's own cook temperature that varies by pan.

Gas is by far the fastest and easiest heat to control, but it also means an entirely separate utility, one which is increasingly not worth the hassle or cost.
>>
>>21573245
Not to mention most inefficient and wasteful.
>>
Gas should only be used when a old heat pump can't keep up with warming your house which is less and less a case these days since there are cold weather heat pumps.

cooking on gas is sick but my kitchen accumulated grime in many hard to reach places and I assume its from that.
dunno maybe my gas stove sucked ass.
>>
>>21572934
It brings water to boil fastest. Really useful when i need my coffee and there's a teams meeting in 3 minutes
>>
Can't do this with induction bitches!!!!!
>>

You must be eighteen years or older to use this website.

Coming from that horrible old shit that took aeons to heat up and cool down I sure like my new induction tbqh
Especially so as I make a lot of noodle/pasta dishes
>>
>>21573273
Get a microwave, dude. Faster and more energy efficient. Unless you're a retard who thinks the microwaves are putting evil radions in the water or some shit?

I have gas and electric on one stove, just in case
>>
Having an induction stove indoors and charcoal grill outdoors is the real power move.
>>
>>21573245
My gas bill is like $30 a month in summer and $80 in winter
...what hassle?
>>
>>21573454
>offset smoker maximum flavor
>pellet smoker for convenience
>gas stove for best cooking conditions
>induction plug in for precision heat
>charcoal stove for grilling with family and friends
>fire pit for smores and drinking around
Am I missing anything?
>>
>>21573462
>precision heat
What does that even mean
>>
>>21573434
Microwaves are specifically tuned to heat water molecules in food, which is why dry food heat much slower than wet ones. Heating water in a microwave is like the most efficient use of it, and it's fast as hell. Less energy used and less waste heat created than any other way of getting water heated up to boiling.
>>
>>21573488
Actually, the microwave takes an efficiency hit and if you want to heat water the most efficiently use a electric kettle. Look it up.
>>
>>21573485
heat but with precision
>>
>>21573488
kettles are achieving about 80% efficiency compared to around 50-67% for microwaves. This is mainly because kettles heat water directly and minimize heat loss, while microwaves lose energy in the conversion process causing children to lose their inherant ability to consent.
>>
>>21573492
>>21573497
Huh, never heard that before, but it makes sense.

Still, does that electric kettle get a mug's worth of water to boiling in 90-120 seconds? 'Cause that's what I get and what the guy I was replying to apparently needs.

Yeah. 110v still heats it up pretty quickly and if your induction plate is 220 which I doubt it is theoretically possible for it to heat it quickly but not in reality that I've seen.

The people in countries with 220v electric kettles have it the fastest.

>>21573217
Ask me how I know you live in your parents basement and live on top ramen and and fast food.
>>
>>21573264
The grime is from lack of venting. All stove types will do this if you don't have a hood vent.
>>21573273
It doesn't.
>>
>>21573643
1500W electric boiler in the US will take 3 to 5 minutes to boil water depending on elevation and water temperature.

So you either live in Europe or are retarded.

Besides who has such shit time management skills that they regularly only have 3 minutes to make coffee--purge these people from your life.
>>
>>21573273

this does not sound right at all

Just kind of crazy that restaurants that serve (high-end, and even lower-end) food at a professional level primarily use gas cooktops...It can't be that you've never worked in a pro cooking setting or...possibly don't cook at all? You don't have to work in a pro setting to learn/understand how to cook, but YOU are retarded. The wine forces me to respond to bait posts when I'm drunk. Fuck you
>>
>>21573761

>>
>>21573725

my bad, I thought went to gas vs everything else, not just gas vs induction per OP. Still, im pretty sure people have tested it out before that show induction is faster.
>>
>>21573706
>3 to 5 minutes
So not 90-120 seconds, thus it's slower, and that's precisely why I suggested a microwave to the guy who wants his instant coffee in less than three minutes
>>
>>21573778
If it's just a mug of coffee you can totally do it within 1-2 minutes. I have a chef man electric kettle and that only takes a min from reverse osmosis well water.

It take 3-4 minutes if you fill up the entire pitcher.
>>
>>21573643
>does that electric kettle get a mug's worth of water to boiling in 90-120 seconds
Here in 240v land, absolutely if you're just filling up the kettle enough for one cup. That's my routine every morning, fill the kettle to minimum and boil, go take a piss, by the time I'm back and added the instant coffee it's done.
>>
Or carafe whatever you coffee drinkers call it. I don't use it for poison.
>>
>>21573643
what's your microwave wattage? Or estimate? The small microwave I have at home seems to pale in comparison to those larger microwaves in apartments that can get to like lava temps in 15 seconds. I recall burning butter at 20% at a friend's house.

Gas is cheaper. I'm not a business owner trying to keep costs down because there's 10 other restaurants around me doing the same who also doesn't give a shit about his disposable minmal wage workers huffing the fumes.

I'm more time efficient to do Caesareans, you still get better results with a natural birth
same for energy efficiency with cooking
>>
>>21573273
If hot water is that important to you you should have an electric kettle
>>
>>21573657
>>21573643
I can make a cuppa in ~1minute 20seconds (fastest was 1min 03s) with my electric kettle here in Ireland, i find eastern European and Middle Eastern kettles are the best.
>>
>>21573706
>>21573778
Every time people make fun of americans for their soivoltage they yell that they totally have 220V available for appliances and shit, lack of electric power is a myth!!
Then they still boil water in microwaves because their kettles are so slow lmao
>>
>>21573831
Electric is the most horrible type. Induction >>>>>> electric, for all its flaws. The only advantage electric has is working with non-induction pots and pans, but just get gas if you really need that.

Gas in the home is a significantly greater technological advancement than induction heating. The only reason we have induction heating now is because they're trying to phase out electric and gas. Induction never took off before because it is now and always has been shit compared to electric and gas.
>>
>>21572934
I bought an induction after years of using gas, so far has worked for me better than the gas ones and are way cleaner. I still keep a gas burner to use outside in case of emergency or for cooking real big things

Natural selection in action. The gas stove heroically removes the worst cooks and their offspring from the herd, improving the chef v. cooklet ratio over time.
>>
>>21579812
100% of fires that burn down houses are a result of not having a hood vent over the stove.

I don't know why boomers started the retarded tradition of putting microwaves above stoves instead of hood vents but they did--and house-fires are the result.
