You can talk about all the Americanized Chinese food you want--we know this is what you're ordering, in the end. It's General Tso's or bust.

singapore mei fun
even the most podunk chinese places make this
they may call it singapore noodles or whatever but they all have it and it's always good
>>
>General Tso's
I used to like these but last time I got it at Panda Express there was one piece that was just a big, stringy ball of cartilage with no chicken inside it at all. It was like chewing on a dried up wad of gum.

That was three years ago and I haven't wanted any since.
>>
>>21575196
look man, I celebrate Americanized Chinese food for what it is, and that's Americanized Chinese food. It's actually made for Americans, by the chinese. It's ironically as American as Apple Pie, or maybe more so. The chinese come to our country to start a restaurant to catering to the american palate. They're pretty much examples of the American dream. Every single chinese restaurant owner that I know of is doing very well off financially because of how much Americans love little bits of fried chicken with tangy spicy sauce.
>>
>>21575196

Yeah, I do like general tso's.
So many retards get hung up on authenticity, but at the end of the day, the purpose of food is that it's good.
Italians are especially bad about it, because it's a cultural pride thing and they don't have anything else, but honestly, Italian American food is just obviously fucking better. They've been working on for decades. Actual Italians are still eating peasant garbage that hasn't meaningfully evolved in like a hundred years.
Ditto for the Chinese, except for the Chinese I don't even like them. At least I like Italians and want to respect them. Fuck the Chinese, Chinese American food is just better. We've improved upon it.

I've not had Tso's in at least a decade unless you count general Tso's chicken wings. For me, it's roast pork with mushrooms, spicy. For wife, it's tofu and shrimp in black bean sauce, three jades shrimp or seafood delight, all with chili oil. For kiddo it's Singapore mei fun with chili oil.
General Tso's is a crapshoot. The pieces are often goopy and soft

I was at a wedding in Vegas a few years back and was getting on my flight back to Europe. I had bought some edibles off the strip and been eating small pieces of it during the week. Now, entering the airport, I still had about half left and realized customs weren't going to let me keep, and I had like a 15 hour flight before I was home.

So before I went into the security checkpoint, I wolfed down the whole thing and went to my gate. I had a stopover in Chicago, and at this point the edibles were in full effect. I had a couple of hours in the airport, I was hungry, and ended up at a Chinese restaurant where I had something that looked pretty much exactly like OPs pic - Was the first time I've ever had Chinese-American food and it was fucking religious, damn shame you can't get it here

Anyway, after that I finally got on my plane and just fell asleep as soon as I hit my seat - I remember hearing the PA announce they were about to begin their 11-hour flight. While he was talking I shut my eyes and started to drift off, and a few seconds later I was suddenly sprung awake by the PA announcer telling us we were beginning our descent and would be landing in 20 minutes

Best flight I ever had desu

Thank you for reading my blog

No. If only because the Indians only ever live in one quadrant of our cities and are fast at work making sure they don't assimilate and are making steady progress at making ghettos.

They don't buy older houses because they are quite literally old, they prefer brand-new. So I never ever see them in my neighbourhood except when they deliver ubereats to people.

If it's a place where the core customer base are non-Chinese, absolutely not. Singapore noodles is the best American Chinese dish by far. I agree. A Chinese restaurant close to my Midwestern hometown used to make Shrimp with Lobster sauce like pic related, rather than the clear sauce you usually see. It was super rich and thick and tasted delicious. I miss it and really wish I could figure out how to make it.

Yeah I know it's kinda the same everywhere but there's just a certain je ne sais kwuah when you buy it in a rusty brick-laden Massachusetts shit towne I guess

It's sadly not as common as it should be I really don't understand how it's not a staple everywhere. And no orange chicken isn't the same thing.

Chinese food has been part of US history for like the better half of it's entire existence.
US cuisine is propped up by Chinese and Mexican and a Euro/Africano mix.

What exactly is americanized in picrel? The Chinese rice? The Chinese glaced duck (or chicken)? Or: mostly: the plastic the food lays in?
>>
>>21589359
probably the brocolli, the marinade, the breading, and the sauce, also the rice.

Uhm anon... Nothing of that is americanized. It's indeed in the Asian version. But please educate me of the rich old american culture of rice farmers. And then when Americans started to mix it with glaced duck. Or since when brocolli is American. Hint: never, and it's not. Did you move from tiktok over here or what?

I'm sorry, your brain is too americanized to understand the nuance, I'm afraid this is it for you.

The little Americanized Chinese place I have been going to for years, the workers would come out to the dining room and eat big bowls of congee after the lunch rush. I always wondered if I tried to order it if they would make it for me.

I think PF Changs does but I am not 100% sure. Only Chinese food chain I have ever been to was Panda Express, and it sucked. I just stick to little family run American Chinese places where no one speaks much english, but the food is amazing and reasonably priced.

West coast chinese food is dogshit compared to the east. You basically have mall food court style chinese in the western part of the USA.
