You can talk about all the Americanized Chinese food you want--we know this is what you're ordering, in the end. It's General Tso's or bust.

singapore mei fun
even the most podunk chinese places make this
they may call it singapore noodles or whatever but they all have it and it's always good
>>
>General Tso's
I used to like these but last time I got it at Panda Express there was one piece that was just a big, stringy ball of cartilage with no chicken inside it at all. It was like chewing on a dried up wad of gum.

That was three years ago and I haven't wanted any since.
>>

look man, I celebrate Americanized Chinese food for what it is, and that's Americanized Chinese food. It's actually made for Americans, by the chinese. It's ironically as American as Apple Pie, or maybe more so. The chinese come to our country to start a restaurant to catering to the american palate. They're pretty much examples of the American dream. Every single chinese restaurant owner that I know of is doing very well off financially because of how much Americans love little bits of fried chicken with tangy spicy sauce.
>>
>>21575196
disappointing when they don’t have corn/pea/carrot in the rice but I would still eat this on any given day
>>
>>21575196
For me, it's Kung Pao chicken so I can pretend I'm eating healthy
>>
>>21575328
okay, but we're done talking about that now
so what did you think of my post earlier?
>>
general tsos is the last thing I'd ever order. it's probably the worst dish out of the 800 on the menu.

for me it's roast pork and mushrooms.

"Traditional" just means poor. Fuck off with that shit.

General Tso's chicken is one of the best food Americans ever invented.

you will be deep throating my foot while I'm whistling dixy, boy.
>>
>>21575196
Yeah, I do like general tso's.
So many retards get hung up on authenticity, but at the end of the day, the purpose of food is that it's good.
Italians are especially bad about it, because it's a cultural pride thing and they don't have anything else, but honestly, Italian American food is just obviously fucking better. They've been working on for decades. Actual Italians are still eating peasant garbage that hasn't meaningfully evolved in like a hundred years.
Ditto for the Chinese, except for the Chinese I don't even like them. At least I like Italians and want to respect them. Fuck the Chinese, Chinese American food is just better. We've improved upon it.

default takeout/delivery order:

general tso or pork fried rice. if tso, then a side of fried rice. eggroll. 4-6 crab rangoon depending on restaurant. can of pepsi. soy sauce at home, packets are garbage.

I've not had Tso's in at least a decade unless you count general Tso's chicken wings. For me, it's roast pork with mushrooms, spicy. For wife, it's tofu and shrimp in black bean sauce, three jades shrimp or seafood delight, all with chili oil. For kiddo it's Singapore mei fun with chili oil.
General Tso's is a crapshoot. The pieces are often goopy and soft
>>21575232
Right? My kid is all about it.
>>21575347
Fuckin' a. I've never known anyone else to order it! Spicy or no?
>>
>>21576429
No they don't, they don't have any equivalent. Orange chicken has a completely different flavor profile.
>>
>>21576951
Not really. Sesame chicken, orange chicken, General Tso's, it's all just deep-fried sugar-slop.
>>
>>21576954
They don't even have panda in your third world shithole so I don't really get this larp since you clearly haven't tasted any of it.
>>
>>21576873

>>
>>21575196
me and my mom order the same shit for years. jalapeno chicken and shrimp with fried rice. we were so cheap the other day we made that asian man give us one dinner plate of it and one empty plate so we could share it. it's so much fucking food too, i don't know how one person can eat all that shit in one sitting alone. i'm sure some places will tell you not to share, or it may be frowned upon. the total price there was $10.99 lol. you guys need to order smarter and find out how to decrease the price.
>>
>>21575196
For me, it's beef chow fun
>>
>>21575347
You trust that pork?
>>
>>21577050
you can come over whenever you like, sweetpea. I'll feed you to my dogs I will.
>>
>>21578832
Nta but I think you're way more likely to get a gnarly piece of breaded chicken than anything weird with a chunk of pork
>>
>>21578832
Trust? Absolutely not. But I knowingly accept the risk of bodily harm the moment I place an order.
>>
>>21575196
This was true when I was a teenager but then I started getting "garlic sauce" dishes and never looked back.
I would still get General Tso chicken at my local buffet, but it's always soggy and bland there. Their black pepper chicken is way better.

They don't, there is no general tso's equivalent.
>>
>>21579940
They have hot orange chicken, it's literally the same shit
>>
>>21579977
It's not, orange chicken is a different flavor profile with different ingredients. There is no orange flavoring in general tso's. You haven't eaten either so I can't blame you for not knowing the difference but if you ever get a chance to eat at a chinese place you'll understand.
>>
>>21579980
Stop pretending americanized chinese food isn't just varying degrees of sugar slop
>>
>>21579982
You admit that you don't know the difference and haven't eaten either. Why troll a thread on a subject you have no knowledge of?
>>
>>21579995

>>
>>21575232

>>

>>

>>
>>21580055
I'm sorry you don't have taste buds
>>
>>21580059
Odd insult coming from someone who can't taste the difference between two distinctly different foods.
>>
>>21580060
They're not two distinctly different foods. They're the same food. Literally the same.
>>
>>21580062
I don't think you know what the word "literally" means because you used it incorrectly. I suggest doing some research on the english language and maybe watching some youtube videos. Even if they don't have panda express in bangladesh you could probably make your own with local ingredients.
