Fall is just around the corner, and that means pumpkin spice flavored everything. What are your must-have pumpkin spice dishes, drink, or treats?
>>21579601Never really got into pumpkin spice. It's ok but I'm looking forward to apple cider donuts far more.
>>21579601I bought the gf a 20lb princess pumpkin so she can make infinite PSL syrup as well as lots of pumpkin pies and stuff. It has been roasted and then she will puree it and freeze in vacuum bags in 2 cup portions or something.
>>21579705Pic of roasted princess pumpkin. Really tasty. Got it for 8 bucks at grocery outlet lolWe are considering pumpkin spice rice pudding as an option. We may make pumpkin pie tonight.
>>21579601Pumpkin Spice Pie
>>21579786What do you think about passing homemade pumpkin puree through a fine mess sieve? I think a super smooth pumpkin puree would be nice for pumpkin pie.
>>21579786Well I forgot that using a fine mesh sieve always makes better puree. You remove some of the fiber when straining and it actually improves the flavor noticeably along with the texture. I may have a pumpkin pie to share today or tommorow. :D
>>21580275Chad
>>21579705>>21579728Pumpkin spice flavoring doesn't have pumpkin in it.You should've just gotten her cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice in bulk.
>>21579601I make pumpkin spice moonshine.I proof down everclear with cheap apple juice until it's 66% ABV then infuse with pumpkin spice mix.Allow to infuse in the freezer then milk wash it.Proof down further with high quality apple cider, put a bit of clove and cinnamon in each glass, label and hand out.Extremely sippable. If you're an aspiring piece of shit date rapist this would be your concoction.
>>21580915>proof down>milk washWhat
>>21580867Already got all that stuff. The pumpking is for making pumpkin spice lattes.
>>21579601Its still 90 degrees here. It is not fall.
>>21580918Proof down is just nerd speak for dilute and a milk wash clarifies the liquid and gives it a milky flavor. You can also do fat washes and make your booze taste like butter.
>>21581008>pumpkin spice latteswhich don't contain pumpkin
>>21581069because it's not a pumpkin latte, you numpty
>>21581069Yes it does. Every single recipe for a pumpkin spice latte has pumpkin puree in it. Even starbucks uses real pumpkin in their psl.(I hate starbucks)Basically you mix water, sugar, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin spice together to make a PSL syrup that you add to a latte or whatever else you want. It just wouldnt be the same without the pumpkin. :(
>>21581069>>21580867What a weird fucking thing to seethe about.
>>21580915>If you're an aspiring piece of shit date rapist this would be your concoction. Why did you have to put that there?
>>21581275AND he is wrong about it too!
>>21581305That too. Both grammatically (the product only promises the spices of pumpkin pie to begin with) and practically (many contain pumpkin anyway). It's just retarded on all fronts.
I got some pumpkin pie ice cream and am making rootbeer floats with spiced rum.
>>21581310Lmao. First pumpkin pie of the season has been made. Made with hand milled, but not strained princess pumpkin puree. Gf was too lazy to strain it. It is a lot of work to strain purees. I will have to help if I want the best puree possible.Princess pumpkin is an excellent variety for cooking, and it may have been stored for months, which improves the flavor. The puree is suprisingly sweet and flavorful.
>>21581780For the second pie of the season I plan on making a pumpkin, rum, and pumpkin spice flavored custard pie rather than a traditional pumpkin pie. I'll be following a recipe for the custard used in a gateau basque. I want an exceptionally silky and creamy pumpkin pie.
>>21579601Pumpkin spice has no pumpkin in it! My life is a lie!
>>21579601I'm going to try the Pumpkin Spice Frappucino next time I go to Starbucks. I hope it's good.
>>21583236It's shitThe pumpkin spice slop syrup is even more radioactive this year, that shit literally glows in the dark nowNot to mention its way too fucking sweet t. shitbucks employee
>>21579601>>21579038Soup GOODPoop GOODSOUP ---> POOP = GOOD
>>21583248I'm not sure how to take this. Either you are giving me genuine advice or you from a rival coffee company trying to sabotage any success Starbucks may have in the seasonal drink market.
>>21581275>seethethat word doesn't mean what you think it means
>absolutely fucking love pumpkin>eat anything "pumpkin spice" themed>it tastes nothing like pumpkin at allI don't get it.
>>21583417Pumpkin spice is like poultry seasoning, but for pumpkins.
You can actually taste the coffee with a nice subtle pumpkin spice taste, far better than sugar filled syrup.
>>21583427Anyone drinking coffee is a hypocrite when they come down on folk smoking the GOOD OL USA GANJA!
>>21583668DUDE!
I did it! So...I took roasted pumpkin puree and strained it through a fine mesh sieve. Into a pan where I reduced it by roughly 30%.Then! I made a custard with pumpkin spices and vanilla in it! Came out lumpy, so that went through a fine mesh sieve and it became perfectly smooth again.COMBINED PUREE AND CUSTARD, SLAPPED IT INTO A GRAHAM CRACKER CRUST! Now it is baking in the oven at 350 degrees until it reaches an internal of like 175 I think. Checking on it in 30 mins.I came up with this idea entirely on my own, but apparently the french make a pumpkin tart almost exactly like I am. Will post pics when it is done. The pie filling tasted incredibly good and was perfectly smooth, so I have high hopes for this one.
>>21584273Here is the result. Sadly it cracked, but whatever... Ill post a review + slice pic tommorow when it fully sets.40 mins at 325. I decided to add water to the tray because custard. Feels pretty done, but I have no clue. The custard was already half set when I filled, so it should hopefully be good.
I wonder what blumkin spice would taste like
>>21584318What is a blumkin?
>>21584322it's getting a blowjob while defecating on the toilet
>>21584323Oh well then it would probably be potpourri.
Pumpkin spice latte tastes so good when ya ain't got a insecure boy in yo ear telling you it's nasty.
>>21584389
I had a piece. Very good. Perfectly smooth pumpkin and pumpkin spiced custard on a graham cracker crust. Exactly as you would imagine. Almost reminds me of pumpkin ice cream even tho I have never had pumpkin ice cream...
>>21581279Confession is good for the soul and it's nice to be able to do it without legal consequences.
>>21584310Looks good. Its not cracked, its just smiling
>>21584310>>21584982Looks great. I think putting whipped cream on that would sense me into taste overload.>>21583417In my experience, you'll get the most accurate taste with purees. Anything else is a gamble as to if it tastes like true pumpkin or not.
>>21587323Im going to make a gateau basque with that pumpkin custard and a pecan praline either on top or in the middle with the custard next. I think it will be pretty good.
>>21580915Sounds good, I'll have to try this. How much spice per bottle are we talking, a couple teaspoons?
