I remember drinking that as late as 1991. But I was still pretty young so I don't remember it being distinctly different than Coke Classic.

At what age do you plan to retire, shitstain?
>>
>>21582075
You missed your chance. They did a limited run of New Coke as a promotional item when 'Stranger Things' was introduced.
>>21582168
Blame Detroit for that. It was the market that liked New Coke the most and was the last place that it could still be purchased. At some point the folks in Atlanta decided to use the Coke II name for the few markets where there was still demand for New Coke.

You kids have no idea boomers and the sort of genxer that was a 30-year old boomer from birth were WOUND about Coca Cola changing their sugar water. There were protests even. It did get us Jolt cola for a while, too bad that’s gone.
>>
>>21582075
I don't see why they don't. It's not like they haven't released 7-8 different Diet Coke variants in the years since, all of which taste like absolute ass juice (ie diet). The idea that New Coke was a scandal is laughable.
>>
>>21582854
I don't remember jolt cola being very good. I drank it as a kid when I wanted to stay up all night playing vidya, though. It was decent for that purpose since I was too much of a bitch to drink coffee.
>>
>>21582075
Just get a Pepsi.

This. You drank it for its meme value.

I bet you can get some on Ebay for fairly cheap if you really want to try it I suppose.
>>
>>21583012
It was good when it was still made with cane sugar and available in glass bottles. I'd pick up a bottle every so often back when. Mexican cokes hit the same nerve for me now, more or less, without as much of a caffeine kick. It wasn't great as an energy drink, though.
>>
>>21582075
you have been drinking new coke all along. they never changed the recipe back it was all a ruse to switch to high fructose corn syrup.
>>
Isn't New Coke just the current Diet Coke formula basically?

After how badly they fumbled Coke Spiced they owe people a trip back to the past. They're already making sodas with sugar again so I don't want to hear excuses. The way they fucking sabotaged Coke Spiced with fucking raspberry flavor when the spice added would have made regular Coke redundant makes me want to hurt people. Pepsi needs to bring back the Holiday Spice variant too. It's been 20 years you stingy cunts.

Coke has been shitting out dozens of non flavors with retarded names just for tie in promotions with shit "musicians" so there's no excuse they can't bring New Coke back and since they're so obsessed with promotional flavors put Max Headroom on the can while they're at it.

(((they))) will and they will make it taste like carbonhydrated sewage water with chemicals. >enjoy your childhood again for 4.99 a can

Coke's bottlers sued over various issues with New Coke, one of which was that it was the same thing as Diet Coke but with HFCS as the sweetener. Coca-Cola sold the ingredients for Diet Coke to the bottlers at a lower price than normal (or new) Coke, so the bottlers expected to get New Coke at the Diet Coke price. Once Coca-Cola changed the formula back before that issue could be settled in court, the lawsuit was withdrawn. It's not truly known outside of the company if New Coke really was just Diet Coke with HFCS but the bottlers, who were very familiar with the taste profile of all their products, certainly believed it to be.

From what I remember Coke tried to make a formula that didn't use spent Coca leaves as a flavoring agent. The leaves go through "decocainization" before being used as extract for the soda's unique flavor and you have to ask yourself, where the fuck is all the narcotic substances going to since Coca Cola is one of the few companies able to import the shit and they have ties to big pharma companies who use this substance.

When Coke removed the coca leaf extract it was like taking sugar away from a fat person. Despite not possessing the actual narcotic it was still there in very minor trace amounts and made the drink addictive. Point of the story, people saw New Coke the same why a druggie would see being put in a rehab center and some Coke drinkers literally became depressed.

For me it was Vanilla Coke and a package of mini donuts, the gas station across the street from school supplied all my sugary needs.

I stopped drinking caffeine and stayed off it for over a decade.
I like soda, I limit myself to 1 can a day. I was drinking canada dry, root beer, other caffeine free stuff.

I reintroduced caffeine by drinking tea and coffee.
I bought a regular coke at a restaurant a while back, and immediately become a fiend.
I dont crave tea and coffee, I have serious craving for coke.

I have been drinking 2-3 a day. If it wasnt so bad for me, I would drink even more.
I dont believe for one second there is still any amount of coca in it, but it tastes fucking amazing.

Pepsi drinkers deserve the rope

That's 75 grams of sugar in addition to all the other sugar you consume throughout the day. You will get beetus if you don't slow it down.

They did "go back" to their 1980s logo that no one recognizes (pic related). The 90s-00s logo was the actually iconic one everyone remembers. But I guess they pay billions for shit tier marketing.

Anyone have dirt on RC or Faygo? During the pandemic Pepsi required all employees, even those 100% remote, to get the jabs or be fired. Even after the government dropped that requirement, Pepsi kept it for over a year more. Coca-Cola of course had their "Don't be white" campaign.
>This is your brain on...

They brought back diet cherry coke this summer as a promotion, exclusive to Kroger's. I forgot to get some. But I do miss it despite it being ridiculously artificial - tastes like the eighties. Once in a while I pick up some diet cherry pepsi which sort of hits the same nerve, but it's getting scarce now too.

Pepsi admits that drinking it will make you fat.
