At what point did Subway go to shit?
>>
When you outgrew it.
>>
When you realize you can make your own sandwich
>>
>>21586382
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that once you no longer have a 10 year olds palate you can recognize it for what it truly is: slop.
That or they massively downgraded the quality of ingredients.
>>
Around 2000, the quality of fast food chains like these dropped off of a cliff. Panera used to be borderline restaurant quality and now they just use shit everything
>>
>>21586406
Yeah I think it was around 2000 as well. It's annoying, though, because it feels like things shifted but you can't point to anything from the industry that shows why. Maybe the industry just reached some saturation point where they felt they could start brand-plundering via lowering the quality.
>>
>>21586371
It's always been shit
>>
>>21586371
When they took out the $5 foot long and added tipping in place.
>>
>>21586459
They changed all the oils used due to FDA meddling.
>>
>>21586371
when you've tried most of the flavours you realize they will never change for the better
>>
>>21586495
Did they? I thought by 2000 the switch to soybean oil had already been happening for 10-20 years
>>
>>21586371
When they hired Spyro.
>>
>>21586371
I know they were good in the early 2000s. I think they got bought out around '06 and that was the end.
>>
>>21586371
when they stopped doing 5 dollar foot longs
>>
>>21586371
When they started charging more than the kebab shops. Although, that's mostly because of government thugs stealing everyone's money

when they abandoned their roos

That was an improvement.

Subway is the only fast food place Ill tip because Im out there dictating every ingredient I want on the sandwich and in which concentration

their website just doesn't work on firefox so into the trash it goes
>>
>live in podunk area of the state
>local Publix plaza has a subway burrowed in the corner
>place is empty every time I go in
>only two scrawny high school kids behind the counter
>obvious money laundering spot
>come back a year later
>pajeets now in charge
It really feels like it's one of those chains that everyone knows is slop but it still has enough brand clout to warrant putting locations in places still
>>
>>21586371
when they stopped doing $5 footlongs.
They got too cocky being the only place that does sandwiches, their only competition is gas stations that charge $9 for a PBJ
>>
>>21586371
>>21586382
>>21586400
>>21586404
>>21586406
>>21586459
I’m going to go with right about at its inception.
>>
was good through the 2000s so it must be some 2010s shit that ruined it. COVID was just the final nail in the casket.
>>
Subway is LITERALLY the same as it's always been
>>
>>21590398
>tipping because they make you tell them how to make a fucking sandwich
Did I read that right? I've always avoided them because of this shit. If I want to order a club and I tell them I want a club why do they need to ask what a club is?
>>
When they removed pastrami and started toasting sandwiches.
>>
>>21589203
They abandoned baby kangaroos?!?!!?
>>
>>21592650
mhm :[
>>
>>21586371
when the not-quite-a-footlong subs more than doubled in price
>>
Chains are born with an idea, then become a monster that eats the competition. Sometimes it's good to have a reliable chain but most of the time it's a race to the bottom after they destroyed local business. I do not grieve for this pajeet employment system.
>>
>>21586371
Sirs..
>>
I don't eat subway to enjoy the food I eat subway to not be hungry
>>
It was never good. I went to Subway once and instead of just giving you a good sandwich they start asking you questions about what you would like in it and then they take your terrible ideas and put together a frankenstein abomination using your ''uhh...I guess I'll take that'' responses as if you are the sandwich making expert who is familiar with the ingredients they use.

"As many jalepenos as you can reasonably fit"
>>
>>21592800
you can accomplish this with a loaf of bread and a jar of pb and jelly for a fraction of the cost
>>
>>21592340
No it isn't. Their meat was much different. I am an oldfag, I remember these things.
