This is a warning to anyone who thinks about making pulled pork pizza........don't. I made it out of curiosity since my wife bought home an entire plain pizza pie from a work party the same night I was making pulled pork and decided to combine the two. The tastes just don't work well. The sweetness of the pork does not go with the pizza and the texture too is really bad and it gets worse if you leave it in the fridge over night. In a way it's actually disgusting. Don't do it. Pic related is not what I made but close enough.

>>21587646
that’s too bad. last time I had some leftover pulled pork I put it in my mac and cheese and it was pretty good
>>
>>21587653
I bet that works well I can believe cheddar or veleeta would work on pizza its utter vile shit ruins both foods
>>
>>21587646
>bbq chicken pizza is good
>bbq pork pizza is not
hmmm...
>texture
texture autists are very odd.
>>
However, pulled pork in raviolis/dumplings is delicious
>>
>>21587682
that would be an interesting combo made the traditional way
>>
>>21587674
its the texture and sweetness retard together
>>
>>21587646
Adding Jalapeno makes it work, at least in my experience.
>>
>>21587646
Pork and alcohol is unhealthy and will be banned. Science proves this
>>
>>21587646
>i made a shitty pulled pork pizza so all pulled pork pizzas are bad
at least if you bought one you'd be more credible
>>
>>21587646
I think it would be good if you actually made it right, with the right sauces and/or cheeses, there's no reason that pizza dough would not be a good bread base for pulled pork. You just dumped pulled pork on top of a regular cheese pizza. That's not the same as making a pulled pork pizza
>>
>>21587733
>You just dumped pulled pork on top of a regular cheese pizza. That's not the same as making a pulled pork pizza
yes it literally is
>>
>>21587646
I think it works pretty well myself.
>>
>>21587739
It's got tomato sauce and mozzarella and seasonings that you wouldn't normally eat with pulled pork. If you actually MADE a pulled pork pizza you could replace the tomato sauce with BBQ sauce and it'd probably be really good, like a BBQ chicken pizza
>>
>>21587743
whole za cupped up like it was a pepperoni
>>
>>21587646
It's actually one of the most popular items at my pizza shop. BBQ sauce base, a little less cheese than the other pizzas, smoked and pulled pork butt, after the oven it's topped with pickled onions and coleslaw. I sell like, fifty of those fuckers a day.
>>
>>21587674
Texture is actually pretty important, it directly impacts how things feel in the mouth, and that can drastically change your eating experience.

Also, bbq chicken pizza uses a bbq sauce base. OP did a crazy and combined a friggen normal ass cheese pizza with some bbq pork. Should have made the pizza from scratch and did a bbq sauce base with the pork on it, probably would have worked properly.
>>
>>21587646
>my wife bought home an entire plain pizza pie from a work party
are you two swingers or something? that's a really fucking weird thing to bring home
>>
>>21587682
Yeah, pulled pork and braised beef short ribs in ravioli is quite excellent. Haven't tried with pork ribs yet, guess that'll be my next project.
>>
>>21587739
i came here to say this. it's not. stuff that gets baked onto a pizza tastes different than just tossing it on later, to say nothing of your complaint about leaving it in the fridge. i mean, you probably still wouldn't like the flavor combination, but what you ate was not a pulled pork pizza, it was leftover pizza that you tossed some other stuff onto.
>>
>>21587752
>tomato sauce
>>21587815
>bbq sauce base
>>21587794
>BBQ sauce base
BBQ is literally the exact same thing as tomato sauce, but with artificial colors and liquid smoke. You're literally retarded dumbasses that get brainwashed into thinking the difference between something good and something disgusting is a little but of artificial color.
>>
>>21587646
That's my mom's favorite pizza.
Normal sauce, cheese, pepperoni, pulled pork, ham, and pineapple.
>>
>>21587945
Unfathomably stupid comment. We know it's tomato-based. But the flavor and texture are quite different. They're different condiments and they're used in different dishes. The fact that both of them contain tomatoes does not make them the same thing
>>
>>21587945
Pizza sauce is passata and salt, barbecue sauce isn't just that at all, you are retarded.
>>
>>21587976
Clearly you didn't know.
>>21587979
Projection.
>>
>>21587997
You are retarded and likely literally autistic
>>
>>21587945
My tomato sauce is made from canned tomatoes and [redacted], as are most tomato sauces.
BBQ sauce is made with ketchup, which isn't tomato sauce, it's sugar goop with a hint of tomato. My BBQ sauce is made by simmering ketchup with [redacted] (I'm not divulging my secret recipes here, bozo)
All this to say, you're as retarded as the people who can't tell the difference between eating a raw tomato and eating ketchup on a hot dog or burger.
>>
>>21588014
Suuuure it's a secret and you're not just hiding the fact that theyre the same exact thing
>>
>>21587945
New bait just dropped.
>>
>>21588197
You are fucking stupid and lower our IQ collectively
>>
>>21587646
This thread was made by a pig, he doesn't want you to know how delicious he is on pizza. BBQ pizza is amazing, I find myself making it more often than regular. A good white sauce goes really well with it. Also pineapple is even better than on normal pizza.
>>
>>21587945
Bread and your arm both have carbon atoms they are the exact same thing. You can eat your arm and it will taste exactly like a delicious loaf of sourdough bread. You should try it.
>>
>>21588402
>BBQ pizza is amazing
this is the second time someone is referring to something that isn't what OP was talking about
>>
>>21588404
You are retarded
>>
>>21587964
could I have your blessing to go on a picnic with your mom and feed her her favorite za
>>
>>21589229
Your post and a shit in the street are both essentially the same thing.
>>
>>21588161
Okay, fine. The rossa sauce is canned san Marzanos, oregano, brown sugar, chili flakes, roasted minced garlic, evoo, blended with an immersion blender.
BBQ sauce is liquid smoke, Worcestershire, honey, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, reduce by half, add ketchup and simmer until it gets very dark in color.
No, you can't get the exact ratios of these ingredients from me, no matter how much you torture me.
>>
>>21587646
Im sure if paired with the right sauce and cheese, it'd be good.
>>
>>21589285
>>21588161
Although I am anxious to find out how you can spin these two sets of very different information, flavors, and textures as being exactly the same thing. My favorite part of 4chan is when you fellers say something absolutely retarded, and then double down on it when proven wrong.

For barbecue pizza, the GOAT:
>BBQ sauce as the sauce (I make a spicy memphis style)
>bacon
>chicken
>pickled jalapeños
>homemade ranch and habanero hot sauce ready on the side for making it pop here and there
Amazing.
>>
>>21589618
Ah, and for this I use gouda cheese. Not mozzarella.
>>
>>21587945
Oh shit, so all cheeses are the same because dairy is the primary ingredient for all of them?
Wild. Thanks, anon. I learned something new today.
>>
>>21587646
added to badexperimentalpizzas.xls, good looking out anon
>>
>>21587815
>Texture is actually pretty important, it directly impacts how things feel in the mouth
no, anon.
texture IS how things feel.
flavor is all that matters when it comes to food.
texture is irrelevant.
why are you feeling your food anyway?
>>
>>21589631
Strawman. Tomato sauce and BBQ sauce have a lot more common with each other than different cheeses are to each other. Cheeses vary wildly by fat content, salt content, time aged and so on, while the only thing setting apart tomato sauce from BBQ sauce is artificial color and liquid smoke.
>>
>>21589631
Exactly, there's no difference between an alligator toe and a buffalo wing, they both contain protein so they are basically the same thing and you can substitute them no problem.
>>
>>21590040
Oh you add garlic, onions, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, molasses, ketchup, or tomato paste to your pizza sauce do you?
Disingenuous retard.
>>
>>21590040
I know you're trolling but just put them side by side and taste them, end of discussion
>>
>>21589678
Wow it's so cool that if you had the option of a sirloin steak with roasted shallots and shoestring fries vs the same option blended into a homogeneous paste you would think hmm yes these are identical to me, I will have the paste thank you, I am very smart

9/10, I got mad for a second, will be reposting this two years from now for (you)s

those are all extremely common barbecue sauce ingredients, you aren't doing anything unique
>>

Is this some new kind of trolling where you accuse a sincere person of being a troll for stating facts? You people are jokes.
