The products that each carried was varied enough, especially taking into account seasonal and rotating items, to warrant keeping both memberships. Costco was the secondary store for me since there was only 1 location and I had to drive about 2x as far to drive compared to the Sams. Sams has scan and go which IMO is the biggest thing separating the two, not having to deal with checkout lines at all is the absolute best. Now where I live I only have costco, but I have like 5 of them in my general area. Unless you luck out and get there at a time where lines are short you're going to be waiting so fucking long it makes me not want to go there, because I know if I had a Sams in my area I could do fucking scan and go.
Costco is closer to where I work and I used to go there for lunch until the food court started checking for membership. Sams is closer to home so I'll just go there instead to fuel up on gas and hotdogs.

The prices were not spectacular except on the prepared food. I think I will mainly use the food court. Is wasn't as oppressively crowded with status seeking asians as Costco.
