You guys like Denny's or no? I have one a few minutes drive from my house I go there occasionally. They have a 20% off in their app, but once a month you get $10 off $30 which is a pretty good deal these days. I only ever go there late and unfortunately it's right next to a motel where crackheads stay and they're always out and about late night so I have to keep an eye out. $9 burger w/side, $10 super slam, $8 breakfast burrito...not a bad value and the one by me is open 24 hours which is rare these days. If I have a coupon I get their slamburger breakfast burger, pretty fucking good imo. I miss having waffle house, or really I miss waffle house like 10-15+ years ago when it was super cheap.
compared to actual diners, no. but I do get a hankering for their chicken fried steak when I'm drunk as fuck from time to time and they usually hit the spot during those inebriated states
Anytime I type Denny's Shooting into Google, there are recent results.
>>21590545I'll have to give that a try some time. I miss the days of 24 hour diners being common, late night spot to go smoke cigarettes in a back booth with some hasbrowns after a show, ears still ringing. I'd kill for a local diner spot that was 24 hours.>>21590549The one near me has probably had its fair share. There was a fire nearby there not long ago.
>>21590552>I miss the days of 24 hour diners being commonme too man...me too. I'm remember during undergrad going to the same Denny's in Breaking Bad. That was my late night munchies spot when I didn't want to walk 2 extra blocks to go to Frontier.
>>21590552Feels like we're sliding into a lower energy state. There used to be a 24 hour Home Depot when I lived in Atlanta. Now it's lucky if a town has a place like Denny's or Waffle House that's open all night.
>>21590567I don't understand the logic of not being open 24 hours. I live in a basically zero crime area and my Walmart isn't even open 24 hours. They can ONLY stand to profit from staying open yet they close from 11 to 6 AM. Boggles the mind. During covid they claimed that it was to sanitize the store and now they just have no excuse.
>>21590571it's exclusively so they don't have to pay people to work overnight other than stockers. traffic is probably so low overnight that it doesn't warrant it. i was a regular late night walmart shopper back when i was in my 20s, anywhere between 10pm-2am I know I remember the place being basically empty in those late night hours. just sucks for those people who work nights my wife used to work at a facility where she'd get off at 11pm and we'd go shopping after I picked her up at night. these days no where else is open so they're not losing your business it just means you have to go get it when they open in the morning they just inconvenience you in the name of saving a buck when they could be employing people and providing a service like they did for decades
>>21590583when I shopped at Walmart at 2 am they didn't pay a cashier, they literally had someone who was working another area come to the checkout when they had a customer (they left a bell out to ring). they did not pay an additional person.
I was visiting my gf in Maine and they had buy one get one free on a bunch of breakfasts. We had just come back from big sex marathon/hiking in Acadia so it was like a godsend
It’s been a while but I recall their burgers being surprisingly legit.
>>21590567>24 hour Home DepotI can’t imagine they had more than like 1 customer per hour on an average night
>>21590567I recently moved to Las Vegas and having a handful of 24 hour places near me again rules. I didn't think I missed it this much but I did.
>>21591102Yeah but it's one guy that NEEDS a new nail gun and his pickup loaded with 2x4s.
>>21591102You don't think you need a hardware store at 2 am until you need a hardware store at 2 am then you thank god there's a hardware store open at 2 am.
>>21591102For that one customer, being able to buy a carpet, rope, and lime at 3am was really important.
There are many reasons to like 24 hour stores but for me the biggest was the calmness of the store. Often the music is turned off, the lights are dimmed, there are far far fewer customers and few PA announcements. The only downside is that there are stockers doing their jobs, so carts and the stockers themselves can get in the way. Wal-Mart now has low sensory hours in the morning, which provides some of benefits that previously only could be obtained in the middle of the night.
>>21590541They always give me burnt food, there’s 3 in my area and no matter what my food is always burnt
>>21590733Literally no one believes your fake story about your fake girlfriend who “ totally lives in Maine guys! “
>>21592374Who cares if its believable, it's incredibly fucking boring
WHATS UP WHATS UPWHAT THE FUCKS UP DENNYS?
denny makes a good burger
>>21590541LOL, why would I ever eat Denny's? I'm not some boomer staying at a motel. I prefer eating meals that are more thoughtful, prepared by the most well-trained culinary artists on the planet. That's why my favorite new place is call The Meltdown, and I am almost positive you have never heard of it, but it's basically comfort food that's been elevated, and priced oh-so-right.
>>21592686your mom is boring
>>21590541They're fine but I rarely eat there since I feel silly paying someone to make pancakes and eggs for me. It's a step above buying instant ramen in terms of shit you can make yourself for a fraction of the cost.
>>21593744Imagine going to Denny's and not getting the riches of Smaug's Lair.
