>>21591446I get my turkey from an amish guy down the road. He will even let you tag a turkey you want, and then later in the year he will butcher it for you.
>>21591446This seems like artificial scarcity to cause panic to probably artificially drive the prices up to make a quick buck since Thanksgiving is just around the corner.
>>21591446Turkeys raised in turkey hell don't have strong immune systems. Who would have thought?
>>21591453or they tried to ramp up production to meet holiday demand and that means worse conditions for the turkeys and a higher chance of something like this happening. this happens all the time with factory farming.
>>21591453>slaughter off a giant portion of your inventory to hopefully increase sale price marginally, which will also make people buy it lessI'm honestly inclined to believe you because someone would need to be from that region to be so stupid.
>>21591470I guess you're right, it doesnt add up. But lets be realistic here, money isn't even real. So there could be other underlying movies behind it. Idk, like trying to cause worry and panic? In a time where there's already more than enough of that going around.People are easier to control when they're in a constant state of fear.
>>21591473>movies*motives
>>21591473>money isn't even realPeople trade it for real things in society so it carries the weight of a real thing to the vast majority of people. You're not withdrawing your savings and burning it in the backyard for fun because "it's just paper lol it's not real".>maybe they're surreptitiously trying to cause mass fearOr maybe other anon is right and an industry that is already unsanitary and low on regulation tried to up production during a time period where there's a bird flu outbreak and they got bit in the ass. Seems a lot more likely than people fucking up their livelihoods just to do a bad job at stoking fear
>>21591481>buy real thingsThat's a whole other case to argue, I dont believe reconstructed plastic constitutes as being something, other than reconstructed plastic. A lot of things we can buy are meaningless, pointless distractions to keep us occupied so we don't keep close tabs on the people responsible for keeping society functioning. That's were the origins of bread and circus come from. Cheap and fulfilling distractions to keep people from having free time to focus on the corruption happening right under their nose.So forgive me for being skeptical due to this obviously evil country having no issue killing its own if it means for pushing more restrictive laws against its own people to further invade their privacy under the guise of>looking for terroristsWell shit, I can tell you were theyre all at. Washington D.C in the fucking white house.
>>21591488>That's were the origins of bread and circus come from.*were the origins of entertainment (which is something to be bought in today's world) started from, and also ties into things to buy in general. Bread and circus.
>>21591488>A lot of things we can buy are meaninglessThat's nice but that doesn't mean money isn't also used to buy real things and would therefor have that level of significance as I mentioned.>so forgive meYou couldn't give me 5 points about the turkey industry in south dakota off the top of your head that would point to this being true. You couldn't give me 5 facts period about the turkey industry of south dakota. But you insist it's happening anyway because you want to believe it's happening due to your general negative sentiment.Tell me that the government or private industry does fucked up shit and I would agree with you, all the time they do.Tell me it's possible it could extend to the turkey industry in south dakota and I'd say "yeah sure that's possible I suppose".Tell me you think that's happening without anything concrete and specific to actually support your stance and I'll call you a loser who just wants to feel like he's in the know about a conspiracy.
>>21591446>100,000 lives snuffed out just like thatFactory farming is fucked up desu
>>21591511>millions, snuffed out in an instant...
>>21591509Main point being, money isn't real. It's simply a tool to make things function easier in society. More can be printed, more can be taken away. It's all some bullshit imaginary game on earth that everyone just unanimously agrees to go along with for some weird fucking reason. And if it functioned, I wouldn't have a problem. But this system is a complete fucking joke. And it becomes more of a joke the higher up the social ladder you climb, because they're all in on it, but if you're not in that group, you're being fucked over and being fed bullshit lies that you cannot verify for yourself whether it's true or not. You just have to take their word for it.Are you going to tell me that never in the history of this country has the government ever tried to intentionally fuck over it's own people just to lord their power over the masses? Money isn't always the motives and the more of it you have, the less important it is.After a certain point, it's about flexing your power, not money. But it wouldn't expect you to understand any of what im saying, because you're so deadset fixated on turkeys from south Dakota. Completely choosing to ignore the obvious point being made.
>>21591518>Main point being, money isn't realAnd my point was that it's traded for real things in civilized society, so it carries the same weight as those real things for the vast majority of people. Do you deny that?>>21591518>Are you going to tell me that never in the history of this country has the government ever tried to intentionally fuck over it's own people just to lord their power over the masses?I specifically said that if you tell me that the government or private industry does fucked up shit I would agree with you, all the time they do. Can you read?>you're so deadset fixated on turkeys from south DakotaThat was the thread, retard. If you just want to talk about generic schizo conspiracy shit then go to /x/. You posted in a thread about a turkey shortage saying that you think you know the specific cause of that shortage. Next time just post "I really just want to talk about vague conspiracy bullshit where I don't need to pony up a single fact related to the thread topic" so I can just call you an idiot and leave. Don't waste both our times.
>>21591509If you think the alphabet agencies aren't playing mafia wars irl with real gangs then you're clueless. Basically what im trying to say, is that the people in power seek those under them as below them, and treat them as no different than animals. But you'll never know this, because they never shoe it openly. And why would they? Their entire system of power only works when no one is aware of what theyre really doing. Our lives to them is no different than some NPC in GTA.
>>21591526>Basically what im trying to say, is that the people in power seek those under them as below them, and treat them as no different than animalsYeah that's great. I'm asking what evidence you had that this is occurring as you said earlier in the south dakota turkey industry. Can you at least just admit that you know nothing specific to that industry to support your theory? Instead of ranting about random bullshit for another paragraph can you just admit to that?
>>21591525Ah, you can't into context. You said unless there's concrete evidence, you will dismiss me as a loser, but let's talk about the things you would agree with me in regards to their corruption and abuse of power. And be honest. We both know, amongst those things you believe, at least one of them is impossible to prove with concrete evidence. Right?
>>21591536Again I ask you, can you at least admit frankly that you know nothing specific to the turkey industry in south dakota to point to your earlier point of them culling turkeys to drive up the price to stoke fear in a conspiratorial manner? After you do that or pony up a handful of points specific to that state's turkey industry, I'll throw you a bone and actually discuss the shit you're clearly wanting to talk about instead.
>>21591544I've been doing nothing but answering your questions this whole thread. Please take the time to answer mine now.
>>21591546It has been abundantly clear that the only question I care about you answering in this thread while I discuss with you is the one you won't answer. Which is: Do you or do you not fucking have proof that the turkey population is being culled to drive up prices in a fear-stoking conspiracy in the turkey industry in south dakota? You've replied to me criticizing you and used it as an opportunity to spout schizo babble, but you've dodged this one question every time. Answer it or shut the fuck up.
>>21591554I see that you now see the error in your logic and argument, which is why you refuse to provide me with your answers to these questions, because it will prove that you look like the idiot you are so desperately trying to make me look like. It's okay, I accept your concession. The fact of the matter is that you claim to believe the government is fully capable of fucking with people, yet you refuse to talk about what you mean by that, because you understand that you are a fucking hypocrite for expecting me to provide you with something you yourself wouldn't be able to do with me. Have a good day!
>>21591566Yeah so that's a "no I have no proof", huh? Fuck off back to /x/, retarded loser.
>>21591568You're projecting and you don't even realize it. But you do, which is why you can't answer my questions. Feel free to get the last word in, I'm hiding the thread now.
>>21591453Does it really matter if the scarcity was natural or planned? If the result is that turkeys cost significant morethis year than last year that's what's important.>>21591473If you're not aware, farm birds like chickens and turkeys have an almost infamous lack of will to live. They don't tend to get sick then recover, if they get a cold most just stop eating and wait to die. So if you see a few birds in your flock getting sick it's a race against time to get them out and dealt with. Having to cull half your flock because they might be sick is way better than it getting out of hand and you are left with zero flock and the debt from having raised them.
>>21591446So 4 hundredths of a percent of the turkeys raised in the US this year, huh? Yeah. .04%. Gone. That's really gonna fuck up the country, huh? Price might go so the way to 33¢/pound! Whoa! Plus I got mine last year after Thanksgiving, been in the freezer. No worries here.
>>21591446For me its mashed potatoes.
>>21591688Personally mashed Turkey
