What's the difference between a $1 can of deenz and a $3 can of deenz?

The cheap brand's mustard had almost no flavor, but I usually mash these up into a bowl of rice or veggies and couldn't really tell a difference in the meat.

you done fucked up

Nope. I always get the wild caught ones with the skin and bones on. The skin is good for your skin and the bones are good for your bones.

The good brands of sardines (Matiz, Nuri, Bella) that I've tried are definitely worth the premium. King Oscar are okay, they're usually the best available on shelves around here. I like the Mediterranean variety quite a lot.

But FYI there's no regulation on what type of fish a "sardine" is, and what you show in the OP are both dogshit compared to the real thing from Portugal. It's laughable to even compare them. Pic rel.

Maybe in your country but that's not universal.

Amazon. They're kinda expensive at $6/can (if you buy the bulk pack), but it's not completely unreasonable.

Always hate buying food from there... are they worth it?

Every [Cost Plus] World Market has Nuri around here. Check import stores. In the Seattle area, I've seen them at Big John's PFI and DK Market in Renton. 99 Ranch in Kent has Flower, which are a Moroccan Nuri knockoff for 1/3 the price.

WARNING: Amazon does not allow food returns. So if you get stuff, you are stuck with it. Doesn't matter what happened to it in transit or if they fucked it up, you are on the hook for it. Which is not the case for the regular material stuff they ship.

So beware. Any food product you get is risky. Wrong thing? Fucked. Leaked? Fucked.

I have ordered plenty of preserved stuff from Amazon. They generally do come sealed and fine. The risk of damage is based on your locale though. If the price is good, it's worth the risk. But remember - keep trial amounts small until you confirm you like shit. Because you can't send food items back.

Over the course of time I've ordered stuff - only had 1 problem: some cunts listed the tea I wanted improperly and I got sent like 3lbs of the wrong shit. Only to find I couldn't send the SEALED tea back. So yeah, be sure you real all the shit on the page and double check reviews for scams/issues in the 1 Stars (ignore all 2+, they don't help).

Nuri is overrated. Tastes no better than other King Oscar.

Good point anon.

They are different fish species though (pilchard for Portuguese sardines and sprat for king Oscar). They are both good but I prefer the pilchard. Though I can understand why you would prefer the sprats.

I see I used the wrong term, I knew they were all 'wild caught,' but KO has two lines of sardines, 'Skinless and Boneless' which matches the first line on the label, and 'Brisling,' on which the first line is "Wild Caught." The brisling ones 'have' the skin and bones, which is all I meant to convey. Perhaps I should have used the term 'Skinful and Boneful.'

You can easily eat the bones of sardines though

the bones are the best part
