funyuns are the greatest
>>21592444Is it corn or wheat or what is it? It's not made of onions. It's fried carbs. You have fun with those.
>>21592444...pieces of shit that ever existed
>>21592444put mini funyuns on a chili dog.thank me later.>>21592454corn.
>>21592444>2/$1WHAT YEAR IS IT TIME TRAVELLER?!
>>21592444love me the flaming hot funyuns. love me regular funyuns. never tried those wasabi ones and whatever the top left is but id wager they would probably be good too
>>21592454It's corn with onion powder and fat. These things are made by pressing them through a tiny nozzle, not frying. High pressure means super-heated water that will basically explode on the other side, leaving a dry crunchy piece of cooked food matter. Food extruders were originally invented not to dry food but just to efficiently sterilize and cook it (for livestock feed).
>>21593259The originals didn't even have heaters, it was just the pressure doing the job. I wish all my food came from some futuristic extruded soylent paste.
>>21593274Textured Vegetable Protein is made like this
>>21593259>>21593274>>21593278Good god, I am glad I eat whole foods or process things myself.
>>21592444i never had funyuns before what are they like? are they good?
>>21593975yes
Funyuns are an underrated chip. I have never tried the steakhouse ones.
>>21593961whats wrong with this? I understand processed food containing tons of chemical preservatives and stabilizers and stuff is bad, but why is this mechanical process bad?
>>21594000its not, i mean cars are made with machines and i dont see anyone conplaining
are they the ones responsible for the unholy blight that is deep fried onion rings?
>>21592444they actually are some fantastic unique chips
>>21592444The steakhouse ones are primo
>>21593983You're missing out
>>21594000I'd imagine '961 is concerned with the handling of the machines. Contaminants etc. Only thing I can think of
Loved these as a kid but grew up never finding them in stores, only gas stations, so I never had the chance to really get an intimate bond to a brand of mass-produced junk food.
Based 'yun enjoyer
>>21592444...piece of shit that ever existed, beside you
>>21593983I didn't know there were other varieties and certainly not that there was a Nippon exclusive one.
I dreamt about the flaming hot ones 2 weeks before they got announced and nobody believes me. I didn’t desire them or like them but I really had that dream before anyone I knew I knew they existed.
>>21595670You're a fucking liar and I'll beat your ass if you keep telling lies about prophetic snack dreams
ftw I have only found the Funyuns Maruchan Hot & Spicy Chicken Ramen flavor once. I normally refuse to mail-order foodstuffs, but I might have to because of this.
