Why would someone boil hotdogs in plain water before frying it in a pan?
>>
>>21592869
You shouldn't fry them in the first place.
>>
they're already cooking and just need heating through
why would i want to constantly babysit a hotdog, flipping it for minutes, when i can just boil it with ease?
>>
I just put them in the toaster oven.
>>
>>21592869
Wiseguy, huh? At least you can talk. Who are you?
>>
>>21592880
It doesn't matter who we are. What matters is our pan.
>>
>>21592883
If I boil this off, will you eat?
>>
>>21592869
good question
i steam vegetables before frying them
>>
>>21592874
Flavor, at that point you may as well just microwave them if all you care about is filling your gut.
>>
>>21592918
It would be extremely delicious.
>>
>>21592954
you're a fat guy
>>
>>21592964
UUUU
>>

Some people think that not eating food that's been overcooked will kill them dead and are terrified of touching anything less than near burnt.

Some people just like hotdog water/ the springyness of a boiled braut
>>
>>21592971
was getting fat part of your plan?
>>
>>21592869
I fry my dogs on high heat, if I didn't boil them first, then they would not be hot enough in the middle. also I can put a cooling rack on the pan and steam my bun
that's why I do it
>>
Is there such a thing as raw hot dogs like there are raw and cooked bratwurst?
>>
>>21592953
But they taste better boiled than scorched and exploded in a pan
>>
Dr Pavel, I'm Oscar Meyer
>>
>>21593205
No. No fine sausage is sold raw. Especially not those made with ice/ice-water. Also those are smoked after parboiling.
>>
>>21593333
You're factually wrong.
>>
>>21593333
this
>>
>>21592869
Boiling would bring the dog up to a high temp, and the pan fry would crisp them up & brown them. That would be the only reason to do so.

>>21593205
You can get raw sausage, but 100% of hot dogs are cooked.
>>
>>21592873
how, then?
>>
>>21592869
Boiling removes some of the fat, making them less greasy. Frying will brown the outsides which adds a nice flavor (and may turn the nitrates used to cure the dogs into carcinogenic nitrosamines due to contact with proteins at very high heat, but that's a whole other topic)
>>
>>21593660
Boiling a natural casing weiner makes them snap better. Not everything needs to be fried or grilled
>>
Boiling dogs makes them more plump. I don't like hot dogs, but when I cook them I boil and then roast over an open flame for that campfire burn.
>>
>>21592869
this is the only way to make hot dog water, which is the primary ingredient in IV fluid, lip balms, and gatorade
>>
>>21593902
Also the primary ingredient in Limp Bizkit's best album.
>>
>>21593907
true. and all the physical copies that didn't sell were pressed and squeezed so the hot dog sap could be upcyled into covid vaccines
>>
Boiled hot dogs are great. That's how they do it at Costco.

I like simmering them and then getting them just browned a little on a griddle, like they do at Hot Dog Annie's.

just simmered is good too but

How does one get on the Freedom & Liberty wall?
>>
>>21593925
apparently by getting mangled

I don't know, you might have to call and acks them.

I live in another vicinity now so haven't been there in years and I'm a little taken aback at all the performative patriotism I'm seeing in recent photos. I'm sure it's a less a Hot Dog Annie's thing but probably just a small town thing. Kind of smacks of a new dimension of the desperate clinging-on that simple rednecks are known for
>>
It's good for removing excess fat and the smell of smoking liquid.
I wonder if this isn't necessary for high-quality sausages.
>>
>>21593919
Exactly the kind of place that shoves the "Veteran owned" "We love our military and vets!" type of place to make up for their mediocrity and shitty service.
>>
>>21593871
what
>>
>>21594009
I think the reason they're overcompensating is because some years ago a family of asian immigrants bought the business and it's a 97% white country town with one traffic light. in the current day and age they are probably worried about being targeted as un-American, so rearry rike US sordier good job mike etc

>snap
gross
i dont want a snap on my snag ever

usually when they snap they squirt molten grease into your eye or something

Imagine being the only "chinese" place in the middle of butt fuck nowhere
>>
>>21592869
the heat of the water cooks the hotdogs
>>
>>21594121
but snap is what makes them 3x as expensive

To get rid of the salt
>>
>>21592869
Same reason you sous vide or oven bake a steak before searing it on the pan/grill, you dipshit.
