What the fuck happened to drive thrus?

>pull up
>hear prerecording of a feminine male voice asking if I’m using the app
>say hello
>either no response or asked to wait for 5 minutes even when I’m the only car there

I swear it didn’t use to be like this. What the fuck happened to America?

Tag it onto any of the last three threads you fucking shill

Greedy corporations and the push for "livable" wages for jobs you shouldn't have after your early 20's. Those combined to result in lower staffing at fast food places and since machines can't yet fully automate the cooking/packaging/handoff process the only remaining employees are doing that while ordering and payment is pushed to apps. If you don't use the app, you're a special case for the order process now and you have to wait until one of the few remaining employees is able to take your order.

If that was the case the McDonald's mobile app wouldn't be a flaming pile of garbage
>>
>>21593295
I mean, the point of the minimum wage was originally so that one could raise a family on it.

Also, I am using the app, but you have to tell Them the code through the speaker.

The 2 lane ones like in the OP are the worst.

>What the fuck happened to America?
The fact that you still eat fast food despite how outrageously shitty they've made every aspect of the experience from ordering to the price to the wait times to the quality of the food itself is what's wrong with America.

You were almost there, then you shit the bed and fell back to the boomer "workers rights is COMMUNISM" brainwashing.

Do they just expect me to drive up and start yapping?

They're just understaffed these days so they can't handle dealing with drive thru and walk in customers at the same time.

McDonald's doesn't want to pay for a good app. It's got the spyware it wants and that's enough.

Can't do that if there's an endless stream of scabs flowing in that are willing to work for pennies just to be in a country with reliable electric power and drinkable water. (Offer void in Flint, Michigan and Jackson, Mississippi)
>>
>>21593818
Okay, so say the first thing (one moment please), so I know you saw me and I'm not just sitting around wondering if I should do a lap of the drive thru or something
>>
>>21593824
Well yeah because he probably started processing another order and you had to wait your turn. Happened to me a couple of days ago. I had to wait to get my order taken because he was dealing with some old lady at the register and the other guy was like on his first day or something so he wasn't trusted to take orders and he had to be walked through everything.

quiet quitting
deal with it or learn to cook
>>
>>21593818
No it isn't. Zoomers don't talk to customers until the customer starts talking to them. I manage the little shits at a print shop and half of them refuse to just say something like "Hi, what can we do for you?" or even "Hi" when a customer walks up to them at the till. They just throw the fluoride stare until the customer starts talking.
>>
>>21593901
I've read about this and it's fucking infuriating. I've even read articles justifying it like we just have to accept that zoomers will not greet us. If you're the fucking manager it's up to YOU to enforce the rules. Just pretend they are rules even if they are not. You can't have people acting like that. Start reprimanding them every time they refuse to greet the customers. Don't let them carry their phones during shift either.
That's fucking bullshit, all of it, and you need to do what you can to make your print shop more courteous.

Firing power lies with the owner and he pays like shit so we're already shortstaffed most days. Unfortunately the good employees also tend to be productive citizens that can get better jobs or go to college.

America was always on this track (i.e. end game capitalism). This is what happens when you leave the Billionaire-class unchecked. Social Democracy gets overthrown in favor of an Ogliarchy.

Yes, they're taking as much as they can take while they can still take it. Although I don't see anyone rising up for any revolution anytime soon. These people are so stupid they blame other poor people, brown people, jews, aliens, the Illuminati, or anyone else but the 1%.

We will never be able to organize and topple the 1% as long as everyone is fat as fuck and playing online all fucking day long.

get your fat lazy ass out of the car and WALK INSIDE then
I literally never go through the drive-thru, there will be like 8 cars lined up because they're "in a hurry" yet I'll be the only one in the restaurant and I'll be in and out in a couple of minutes while they're all still there with their engines idling.

If you want to talk to an actual person just fucking do it, there's nothing stopping you. Unless you're in the deep ghetto the door is always unlocked you slovenly retard.

This. But of course the best answer is just to not eat there at all. So many superior options.

I pretty much always go inside now. The kiosk lets me avoid installing an app or talking to a person. Not that I mind talking to people but I want to have a moment to decide what I want and the kiosk is just more accurate than having someone interpret what I said and enter it into the register. The only real downside is that kiosk screens are dirty from everyone touching them. I'm not really a germophobe but in this case, I do like having an alcohol wipe.
I also get to do my drink however I want. Not sure if I save time going inside. It does seem like they prioritize drive-thru orders over inside orders but if so, it's not that much different.
>>
>>21593823
i don't understand - are these scabs (presumably migrants) somehow lowering or stagnating the minimum wage?
>>
Drive thrus were fucked to begin with. If the problem were minimum wage hikes, they'd just lay off more bodies and have people do multiple jobs simultaneously like in retail.

20 years ago it was the remote call centers taking your orders and now it's the AI's. All while giving you less for your dollar.

Why did you say hello to a prerecorded voice
