Here's how pizza is done in New York City.
>>
>>21593517
I've never seen the appeal, can anybody give me a valid reason as to why it's revered so much?
>>
>>21593517
>that'll be $20

Looks identical to Sbarros

thin cruss pizza with a mat of melted dry motsarella is truly the lord's pizza
>>

What the fuck does expensive melted mozzarella look like
>>
>>21593531
new york does not want to be known for their rats, pollution and crime so they chose to blow smoke up their pape- i mean their pizzas
>>
>>21593517
Can I have some toppings please
>>
>>21593517
how is it different from italian pizza
>>
>>21593517
That's the good stuff right there.
>>
>>21593599
the cheap stuff turns orange, and probably is impossible to reheat without becoming hard plastic after cooling, you can especially tell since there's no meat grease making it that color
>>
its the water, no where else has the quality of water NYC has, it enriches the dough and gives it the perfect qualities

Its odd, everyone seems to hate deep dish and then says this is superior. I don't get it.
>>
NY street slice, a well-executed example of that tier of pizza. Nothing fancy, solid ingredients. Not $1 slop churned out by people with Star Wars names.
>>
>>21593997
NYC water has tiny crustaceans called copeopods
not even joking
it's not kosher either
>>
>>21594240
>solid
you mean shit, the dough, cheese, and sauce are all bad
>>
>>21594273
stick to pizza hut kid
>>
>>21594273
The cheese would be very white and the tomatoes less red if it were garbage. There aren't shitty brown spots of overcooked cheese and cellulose. The tomatoes are not just watery puree-- there is some texture to them. The crust is pretty flat but has decent color. But it has little-to-no microblistering which means the dough was not fermented much if at all. The gum line of sauce against the crust is clean and there isn't cheese all over the crust.

Sbarros looks better, OP looks frozen

>>21594282
No I've worked in the pizzaria business for 30 years and it's my whole family's legacy. It's cheap oily mozz. NYC street food in general is cheap bullshit held up because of romanticizing the city not objective taste in food

Special water is a meme, NYC hot dogs are literally pork and chicken like Bar S boiled in dirty water by an immigrant, you'd be better off microwaving some Oscar Meyers
>>
>>21595332
literally making up every single thing you say lol
>>
>>21594800
sbarros is probably the best italian food chain, far above trash like buca di beppo and fazzolis. there's a reason places like that don't have a foothold in the northeast
>>
>>21593562
That'll be $1.50
2 for $4 with a coke

And you can eat two slices at a time if you're in a hurry so you can get a can of paint back to a bitchy customer quickly.
>>
best cheese pie I ever had came from Staten Island in the seventies., Formaggio al Forno! I remember they had ranch cups before that was a popular thing.
>>

>I've worked in the pizzaria business for 30 years
You’d think you knew how to spell the word “pizzeria” if that were the case
>>
>>21593517
>sauce, cheese, and bread
It's glorified cheesy bread
>>
>>21595332

NYC has a lower crime rate than the national average. Rats and pollution still true but at least pollution is getting better
>>
>>21594867
God didn't name them retard
>>

But many countries have this kind of take away food.
It's also not just pizza but all kinds of pastries.
>>
>>21598040
I wish I could get small quantities of pizza at 3:00AM :(

Your options for that vary wildly by neighborhood though. In nightlife centers like Bushwick or Greenwich Village you'll have some good options that are better than the dollar-joints (OP is Joe's), midtown too. Outside of that, though, it can get pretty bleak and you may have to settle for the cheapest of the cheap.

Anybody from Altoona here ?

See that's like, da thing about New York, dood, is you can get like, get a slice of pizza at like a restaurant. Where else can you do that?
>>
>>21598761
Just walk down the street from where you live and get a quick lone slice? Yeah, outside new york and other big cities that can be pretty hard to find believe it or not. But you knew that—you’re just being an idiot
