Thoughts on Scottish cuisine? My mother's family is from there. Pale redhead, burns in the sun. I want to know what to eat and what to avoid

>>21593710FWIW, I was stationed in the UK, and spent a little time in Scotland. As much as Haggis is a meme, it was really fucking delicious the few times I had it. Scottish (porridge) oats are also superior to rolled/instant oats, in terms of texture, in my arrogant opinion. YMMV however.All that said, never had IRN BRU or however the fucking spell it. I've heard it tastes like bubblegum or something. Then again, no one outside of the US understands root beer, so I guess I shouldn't throw stones...

Haggis was invented in England anyway but it's worth a try if you are in Scotland, as the English don't really bother with it.
