>buy mineral b meme pan
>season it meticulously multiple times with sunflower oil
>come right off when using for anything that's not eggs
>food sticks worse than my stainless steel pan
>takes aeons to cool down so i can clean it which is important for a breakfast pan, responsive my ass
am i retarded or what
>>
>>21594627
Yeah NOT retarded. I had the same experience. Stainless steel is better for (almost) anything. The only thing i havent tried with SS is fish. Fish stuck like a bitch to the mineral b.

I use those pans at work, you've gotta season them with flaxseed on an extreme high heat for 20-30 times.
>>
>>21596597
well i guess i'll get a different oil then annd just cook with it some chicken breasts or whatever
>>
>>21596597
>for 20-30 times.
bait or retardation, hard to tell
>>
>>21596640
maybe it's an ESL i think they do that iwth hours in russian or he meant just cooking with it
>>
skill issue
if you don't know how to cook you will never season a pan properly. you will get bogged down in the le science of seasoning, but seasoning is a art.
>>
>>21596740
>skill issue
>shows a pan that's not seasoned properly
ok retard
>>
>>21596740
Why would i care when i can just use ss and it never sticks and i never have to do shit to it
>>
>>21596747
haven't figured out how to stir fry without sticking, probably overcrowding but sugary sauce still sticks
>>
>>21596747
cooking on SS vs CS is the same difference as boiling vs frying. CS holds more heat the same way oil does.
SS is good for a lot of things but CS bogs it for stir frys or searing meat
>>
>>21596754
>CS holds more heat
lol
>>
>>21594627
I had the same experience with carbon steel pans. Incredibly finnicky and delicate. Ended up just using steel and cast iron since they're way more durable.
>>21595439
Nice seasoning. Mine looks like shit but I make it work.
>>
>>21596744
Carbon and cast iron season differently, mine looks like his and it's perfectly non stick even with no added oils.
>>
>>21596756
It's just the factory seasoning, the video was made as a counter to the once-common claim that lodges had to be stripped, sanded, and painstakingly reseasoned in order to be nonstick.
>>
>>21595439
Nice, that little bit on the side is going to haunt me however, 7/10
>>
>>21594627
My first Mineral B took me forever to get the seasoning right, but now that I did it's fine.
My second Mineral B was quick, I blasted it in the oven around 8 times with extremely thin layers of flaxseed oil. Zero problems after that.

Using both pans for over 10 years and my only regret is that I should have bought a Matfer because I don't like cleaning around the rivets.
>>
>>21594627
you have to bop a few cartoon mice with it first. If you want to clean it fast take the food off is blast it with piss when its still hot. shit will flake right off with steel wool. you dont have to reseason if your lazy just cook something greasy next time.
>>
Yeah you're retarded, this shit is braindead easy to use. Your problem is you're trying to do all that autistic prep seasoning that dumbshit YouTubers say you have to do they can get views.

Literally just scrub it really well with soap and hot water to remove any packaging oil/wax, dry it off, heat it up on the stovetop, and rub on a thin layer of neutral cooking oil while it's still hot.

Then use it. Clean it when you're done (yes actually clean it, use dish soap you disgusting mongrel). Dry it completely so it doesn't rust. Next time you want to use it, heat it up and use it. If you think the seasoning looks a bit lacking, rub on a thin layer of oil while it's hot first, then use it. Just oil it when you use it, and clean it like a normal fucking person. This shit isn't complicated.

>>21596814
That's one of the higher end lodges that actually come with a decent finish/seasoning from the factory. The dogshit seasoning on the normal cheap ones is crap and needs to be scrubbed off. Sanding the surface of them is entirely optional but does make them more pleasant to use. You can tell it's not one of the standard skillets from the handle, the super cheap standard ones just have the super stubby loop handle that are too short to grab without a towel cause they get so hot.

>>21596744
You are not an intelligent individual.
>>
>>21594627
I have no idea how to "properly" season a cast iron pan.
The shit just flakes off or comes off with cooking when it bonds to the food.
