Rendang, laksa, nasi goreng can be fucking outstanding

Says who? We go under the radar of most Western food reviewers. If anything, we are under-rated (hyphen). Very few Westerners know of our cuisine beyond some bongs, strayans and dutch who frequent Malaysia and Indonesia.

>mosf overrated cuisine of all time

There's not one cuisine in both those countries.

Balinese Hindus eat pork (Babi Guling). Javanese Muslims eat beef dishes.

Chinese Peranakans (Baba Nyonya) have their own dishes like rainbow cake.

Lowland Papuans eat sago bread (though they don't want to be part of Indonesia).

I went to an Indonesian restaurant in the city and they literally served me instant indomie noodles with some other shit on it, they had boxes of noodle packets stacked behind the counter, I was stunned.

It's nice to have good looking dishes, however I prefer taste to looks and rendang is fucking delicious. Similarly with nasi goreng it's the ingredients that make it extra tasty. Laksa being "Chinese" is facetious at best. Regardless of this, I singled out the most well known to the western world, those dishes aren't their cuisine in its entirety.

Seems closer to thai than chinese. Or rather, thai is closer to it

Rendeng is just way to many spices on strew meat. It's not bad flavor wise, but they over season the shit out of it. Can't taste the beef.

WHERE??? Holland? Only place I've had Indonesian food as a shart is in Aruba, which is right next to Suriname, which has a lot of Indonesian diaspora

Roti murtabak and bom is fucking amazing. Almost any dessert in Malaysia is so fucking nauseatingly sweet that they're a chore to eat though.

That's authentic, almost every Indonesian restaurant will have Indomie noodles as an option. Malaysian will have Maggi.
If you want other noodles you can order them, like mie goreng or bihun.
It's not just a meme or advertising, Indonesians fucking LOVE Indomie.
Who can blame them
