I was being an impatient idiot and wanted to defrost my fridge faster so I took a hammer to the icebox and accidentally hit a refrigerant line, eating a nice mouthful of freon in the process.

Anyways it's about 10 days before I can get a fridge delivered to my hick town, what can I keep in the house that doesn't need refrigeration besides fruit and veg? I already miss my cold gallon of milk...

Pic unrel but tasty.

Just use door dash until it arrives. You aren't poor are you?
>>
>>21612946
Nigger I live in the countryside, no one delivers this far out. Also yes I'm poor so keep 'cheap' in mind when thinking of food to suggest.

Next time just turn the fridge off, open the fridge door and leave it open for 30 minutes, the ice will slough off.

Nice job being a fucking idiot though

I thought it was a smart workaround that would avoid having my milk get warm, but yes I am retarded.

Not much of a loss as the fridge was more than 20 years old anyways, but it's annoying not having a fridge for a week.

Still waiting on suggestions, I know there are ex-homeless on this board, surely they have experience in being refrigeration deprived?

You probably would have been fine if you used a rubber mallet instead of a hammer.
>>
>>21612957
You'd have to eat those right away since anon doesn't have a fridge, think before you type!
>>
>>21612962
I think next time I'll just let it defrost like a normal person.

just throw some more pepper on it when it starts to stink ya damn hippie

Unironically this, when I was in Portugal this old German guy had a slab of meat hung up in his house just rotting and covered in flies, allegedly it made it more tender and tasty. Good opportunity to test this now when you have no choice.

What do you normally eat? If you like milk a lot you could get a pack of the small shelf stable milk boxes.

Was canned soup too hard to think of? I'll give you a good one.

Cook sliced up spam in a skillet. Put it on top of ramen. Eat some packaged goods, like chips. Buy shelf stable milk like >>21613349. Canned fish is good, I personally like sardines in mustard/tomato sauce.
>>
just throw some ice in a cooler and keep eating whatever you normally eat retard

Cans. Also it's getting cold, so just pack stuff and hang it out of a window in a wet bag or something.

You can preserve fresh meat for longer by covering it with vinegar and onions (which also tenderizes it). You should make sure to flip it every day or so. That can make meat last up to two weeks but I have never tried it for more than a week myself.
Also >>21613457 is correct

Should've done it babushka style, by sticking a large pot of boiled water in the freezer.
>>
>>21612942
Just get a bunch of canned/jarred food. You might even find something you like
>>
>>21612942
Buy some lean beef, slice it thin and marinate with some salty and optionally sweet seasonings for a few hours, then hang it up to dry.

Also brined cheese like feta is good at room temperature, as long as it stays submerged in the brine. I could see surviving a week on feta, dry cured meats, crackers/bread, and fruits & vegetables. Oh, and canned seafood.

My dad accidentally ruined a brand new AC by drilling into the side so he could use the old brackets.

Jeremy I told you to stop saying bad things about me on the internet. We will talk when I get home.

hahaha i did that once when i was like 18
just fill your crisper drawers with salted ice and consolodate your shit to the bottom shelves. the fridge is still a big insulated box. or use a cooler, you can still keep eggs, milk, cheese, sandwich stuff, meat, just dont bulk buy.
