deep frying is so fucking easy
how can people claim they "can't cook" and must pay for $3000 grubhub monthly

it's literally the same as frying nuggets
>>
Deep frying is a gigantic use of oil, time, and it’s a bitch cleaning up
>>
Dealing with all the crap that goes along with deep frying is not fun. I don't do it at home because I don't eat much deep fried food.
>>
>>21615834
deep-frying is stinky and gives me runny poops
>>
>>21615834
It splashes everywhere and the vapor fills up your house and even gets on your skin and hair, stinking and greasing it up for days. You end up with a whole tub of oil that's going to go rancid in about a month or so even in the best of conditions. Unless you're frying daily and in outdoors preferably it doesn't make any sense to do it at home kitchen.
>>
>>21615834
Grilling is better and easier.
>>
I too have always thought that meat doesn't have a high enough fat contect and it just needs to be higher
>>
Deep frying is the ultimate retard filter. The entire problem is that people don't realize that when food chains deep fry it's because they move a lot of volume so they have a huge sink full of boiling oil.
If you are deep frying at home, just use less oil. You can do a thing called shallow frying. It's the same as deep frying but you flip the food once.
The idiot tries to emulate McDonalds at home and uses too much oil and then can't figure out what to do with all the oil.
>>
>>21615995
Yeah this. I got one, not knowing this. After one use, I noticed. Thought that it's not for me. As it already stank, I decided to make all my meals deep fried for a few days, then gave the fryer to charity
>>
>>21615834
it's fat and greasy
it reeks and it lingers
boiling oil is dangerous
unhealthy cooking method
used oil is annoying to get rid of
>>
>>21616003
Ooh spot the cooklet
>>
>>21615834
I simply must spend $3k per month on delivery food. Are you POOR or something? I like my fried food soggy from steaming in a box while a foreign taxi driver brings it to my doorstep. It tastes better that way. It costs a lot to eat so poorly. That's why I'm so fat and ignorant.
>>
>>21616011
I don't know who the hell you think you're talking to.

it's only a pain to clean if you own your own house.
>>
>>21615844
If you have a dedicated deep fryer, then none of these issues are true.
>>
>>21616073
yeah because having a plumber over 4 times a year is so comfy
>>
>>21616073
If it doesn't solidify at room temperature it's literally fine to put down the drain. Animal grease is what the real problem is for pipes.
>>
>>21615995
Yeah the smell and cleanup is the worst part of deep frying. Best to do it outside
>>
>>21615844
I don't get this meme.
Alright anons, you want a guide to deepfrying your own stuff?

What you will need:
>a bottle of frying oil
>a large mason jar
>either a wok pan or a large (deep) cast iron skillet
>a rack (optional, but will improve the result)
>tongs or chopsticks
>cheese cloth (coffee filters also work)
>chicken
>cornstarch
>flour
>garlic
>soy sauce
>sesame oil

Steps:
>open up a goddamned window
>prepare two separate plates and layer one of these with cornstarch and the other with flour
>slice the chicken into small bite-sized pieces
>marinate the chicken in a mixture of chopped garlic, soy sauce and sesame oil
>fill your pan with enough oil so the pieces can be fully submerged
>heat the oil until it reaches 180 degrees celsius (356 degrees fahrenheit)
>dredge each chicken piece in the flour, then the starch
>fry the chicken in batches for 90 seconds at a time, then remove them and place them on the rack
>after all pieces have been fried, do this again but for 45 seconds this time

Clean up (IMPORTANT!):
>let the oil cool to room temperature
>pour the oil through the cheese cloth/coffee filter into the mason jar
>store this jar in the fridge for up to two weeks
>reuse whenever

yeah I mean this
>>
>>21616192
>"deep frying"
>btw i mean shallow frying
could you be any more retarded?
>>
>>21615834
People are pathetically lazy and will always do the easiest thing. It's easier to sit on you ass and order food than to make any effort to cook. And don't even start with cooking well.
People are much lazier than you think
>>
>>21615834
people i don't know told me that deep frying is a no-no food and that if i eat any of the no-no foods it'll make into a bad person and then because bad person it make you die soon!!!
>>
Someone post the Adam Ragusea video.
>>
>>21616197
maybe
when it's cooked people can't tell the difference anyway
>>
>>21616212
yeah but there is a magnitude of difference in how much effort deep frying vs shallow frying takes
>>
>>21616303
>throwing everything into the wok
>don't even need to clean it if you're going to use it again tomorrow
>effort
>>
>>21616192
Congrats, you passed the retard filter. You invented shallow frying while trying to deep fry and it worked.
The people who hate deep frying are literally taking bottles of oil and pouring them into a big pot they fill the brim and they fry 4 pieces of chicken, then they seethe that they can't figure out what to do with all the oil that has burnt pieces of breading in it.
>>
>>21616165
you don't say
>>
>>21615854
>I don't do it at home because I don't eat much deep fried food.
And, I am positive why this gives the misconception that people must eat at home the same as they do when ordering out. Not me. I pan fry very rarely, maybe not even once every other month, and deep fry never at home. The cleanup is a stupid waste of my time. My oven has a convection setting, so I might crisp items in the oven only.
>>
>>21616187
>it’s not a hassle, you just don’t know how to deep fry
Have no idea where that conclusion came from

>>21616192
>shallow fry
>necessitating flipping
>doubling the time spent cooking
>>
>>21616940
>it’s not a hassle
It's literally not. No different from cooking.
>>
>>21616947
Cooking a chicken thigh
>cutting board (maybe)
>the pan
>the plate

Frying a chicken thigh
>the cutting board
>the batter
>the egg wash
>the additional breadcrumbs (maybe)
>the frying vessel
>the oil
>the plate for resting
>the actual serving plate
>>
>>21616995
...you eat just pan seared chicken without anything else? No freshly chopped herbs? No spices? You don't even marinate your chicken?
What kind of monster are you???
>>
>>21617003
Talking about cleanup, smart-aleck. Marinated, sure, add one dish. That’s still 4 things to clean vs 8
>>
>>21616165
still is an issue
youll need lots of oil, that needs to be filtered and stored somewhere plus the stench gets everywhere if you dont do it outside
>>
>>21616165
you can deep fry in your kettle as well
>>
>>21617694
>That’s still 4 things to clean vs 8
Only because you "forgot" to mention several items, while counting optional items and adding even more nonsensical items to frying.
You know, like a disingenuous nigger.

>Schnitzel
Easy to pan-fry in shallow oil
I do one every few nights, like 50 cents worth of oil with a small pan, something less than 3 minutes each side

After I pour the oil in a container and when it fills every month or so I take it to the local tip, they have an oil drop-off spot apparently it gets turned into cheap bio-fuel

shut up libtard
>>
>>21617795
Stop pretending deep frying is the same amount of work as normal cooking on a pan
>>
>>21617911
>deep frying is the same amount of work as normal cooking on a pan
...but it is? Seriously anon, I don't know who you're trying to fool with this acting of yours.
>>
>>21617877
>cooked broccoli
>plain mashed potatoes
What the fuck is wrong with you?
Why didn't you grill that broccoli with salt and pepper?
And why the hell aren't you adding chopped parsley to that mash?
>>
>>21617976
Broccoli tastes fine just boiled in salted water
Mashed tato just needs that and then some milk and butter
>>
>>21615834
>stink up and spray oil all over your kitchen just for 1 meal
Nah. I'm a professional WFH earning well into 6 figures so I can afford food delivery. So I'm good. Thanks for the advice, though? Enjoy slumming it in your grease pit.

>>
>>21616073
>>21616171
my god damn neighbors did this and i got kicked out for a few days while they dug under my apartment because that's where the damn clogged drain was
>>
>>21617973
I challenge you right now, time how long it takes to prep, cook, eat, and clean up a chicken breast vs a fried chicken breast.
>>
>>21616073
i do this but i put dish detergent in the pan, then let it fill up with hot water and slowly drain the pan while adding a thin film of detergent and let the water continue to run
also i only pan fry and rarely shallow fry
>>
>>21615844
Deep frying isn't necessary, shallow frying chicken is fine. You don't need to do a whole-ass bird.
