I'm searching "Why are Japanese lunch boxes so popular in the world".Please tell me about it.
>>21617174well, they’re popular in japan. outside japan you’ll find a 1:1 ratio of people who eat them and people who are weebs in general. it took a lot of restraint to be nice right now
>>21617174They're cute, nutritious, and colorful. Also, Japanese food is the best in the entire world.
>>21617174 I see.Maybe it's because it tastes and looks good. Japan is amazing.
>>21617174Because weebs are pathetic
>>21617198>Japan is amazingthe greatest cultural illusion of our time
>>21617181I love bento boxes, but japanese food can be really bland more often than not
For me, it's the superior Korean grab and go box
>>21617174i've never seen one.
>>21617174I'm looking for a bento box, it cant be pinku (that's Japanese for pink) or any girl color. It has to be of 2 or more kotoba (that's Japanese for 2 compartments) and has be be chibi (small) sized. And has to be really kawaii (cute). Also It has to be about 10-20 bux. And you have to post pics of it first (i want to make shure it's kawaii [cute]). And it would be nice if it came with matching chopstick holder (WITH chopsticks). OH! and it CANNOT have any cartoon pictures, or be made out of plastic. It has to be made of ceramic, or something like that. Also it would be nice if it was made in japan. and not in china or corea (Korea) or whatever. I have found a bento box similar to the one im describing in e-bay, but it was 1 kotoba, and i don't want my gohan (rice) to touch my other things (it can get wet and i would not like that, plus 2 compartments looks more kawaii)
>lunchbox:|>lunchbox, jp:O
>>21617655It’s so disingenuous to pretend that a shitty PB&J sandwich in a lunchbox is the same as a bento
>>21617235>>21617655Nail Jakshitters to a cross
>>21617309Dosirak (도시락) is the original bento box.
大日本帝国万歳!!!!!!!!!徳仁天皇万歳!!!
whoa.... damn...
Is my theme just an illusion?
>>21617423Sorry, but the only non-plastic bento boxes available in Japan are wood or bamboo.
僕が今考えているのは日本のお弁当には歴史があるからだと思うけど、実際に4chanのみんなはどう思う?
>>21618913>>21618923his is 4chan.If you want to chat in Japanese, go to 5chan.
>>21618923I don't understand. Can't you speak any language other than your own?
sorry...
small proportions and verity of food if we are just talking about the box its self as a lunch boxmost americans just cram 1 thing thats dog shit if its not left overs oversso 1 dog shit sandwich or carrots and humus people all ready had shit that sections off food so you can have multiple things with out things touching, bento boxes are just more stylish and shitpremade bentos are just better then 90% of grab and go lunch options. how the fuck are you gona argue that mc donalds or or the dog shit pre made food at a super market is better?
It photographs well for consumption on social media because it's 95% presentation. The food itself is usually pretty bland.
>>21619256bland compared to what? you'd have to say a grab and go option or a drive through is better.
>>21619266The composition of most bentos is white rice, less than a single serving of vegetables chopped up for color, and maybe katsu or hotdog as the protein.Leftover stew in a thermos would be quicker and more flavorful. Bento is only "quick" if you're buying one at 7/11. They're actually pretty labor intensive for what they are.
>>21619266he's right, japanese foods are mild and focuses on subtle flavors. its bland and boring after a while. Its like baby food as far as Asian foods go.
>>21619293I dont know any grab and go/drive thru option that isnt bland or artery clogging junk food
So what everyone is trying to say is that the appeal of Japanese bento is basically just its appearance?
So, does that mean you guys think greasy food tastes better?
>>21619301basically, yeah... its weeb instagram material>>21619302who the fuck says that? there are great foods wtihout grease ya dingus
>>21619301no. taste better then other shit youd grab at a store and the only other option for 90% of people is junk food from a drive throughunless you are gona brink food from home of sit down at a resturant
If you had to say, do you like it or dislike it?
sorry, I mistaked
>>21617174Cause why carry a bag that carries multiple smaller bags or containers full of food when you can just use a plastic box that holds all the food without extra bags/containers, that can also separate them (there are a bunch that come with dividers), and are easily washable (reusable)
You guys keep saying you're nerds and stuff, but what do you guys really think about bento?
>>21619334Japanese people put a variety of different foods in their bento boxes, so they make dividers and separate them. Wouldn't it be awful if hamburgers and cakes got all mixed up?
>>21617423> CartoonsKys
>>21617423i havent seen this copypasta in maybe fifteen years.god, where does the time go
>>21619387Colossal fucking newfag.
>>21617740Putting katsu in a lunch box just doesn't seem like a good idea. By the time lunch rolls around, it'll be cold and soggy.
>>21617174Japanese lunchbox? Tupperware has been around for decades..amazing. A sealed box I put food in for lunch. Wow. Only Japan could think of that, I should pay extra for it
>>21617174>bento box thread doesn't take off and people rightfully call you a faggot weeb>"i'll make another thread on it, maybe people will reaffirm my japanophilia there!" god you people are insufferable
>>21617423Only opened the thread to make sure this was posted.
>>21620310Same.
aren't gaijins too cynical in a retarded way?japan became the first non-western first-world country like 50 years ago so some japanese things have been uniquely modernized/developed in its own way. it's not just some fetish.
>>21617277Just fill it with food that you like, who cares?
>>21619352Yeah, i mentioned the dividers. That being said>Custard? Good! Jam? Good! Meat? GOOOD!> - Joey
Don't American lunch boxes usually not have dividers?
Don't American lunch boxes have dividers?
>>21620293So you had an impatient child? How embarrassing. At least I haven't done anything stupid like that so far.
Everyone says it has a bland taste but looks good, but does it really look good enough to justify the bland taste?
>>21620851Typically there's a divider or holder for the drink
>>21620293I created that thread
